ASUS’s GeForce RTX 3050 LP BRK 6GB GDDR6 is a half-height, two-slot graphics card announced in 2024 for compact desktops and multi-monitor workstations. Launch coverage describes a roughly 70W board that draws power through the PCIe slot rather than an auxiliary connector. Its low-profile bracket and legacy DVI-D output may solve problems that full-size cards cannot, but “for all PCs” is not a compatibility guarantee: case clearance, the motherboard slot, power limits, airflow and monitor connectors must match the exact system.
What ASUS launched
ASUS positions the GeForce RTX 3050 LP BRK as a low-profile, compact card for multi-monitor productivity. It occupies two expansion slots and is intended for systems that accept a half-height graphics card. The model is the 6GB RTX 3050 configuration, not the faster 8GB RTX 3050 variant.
Availability and specifications can vary by region and may change, so use the current local ASUS listing and your PC documentation before ordering.

How the 6GB model differs from the 8GB RTX 3050
The 6GB board is a lower-power, lower-throughput configuration. AnandTech’s March 15, 2024 launch report lists 6.77 FP32 TFLOPS for the 6GB card versus 9.1 FP32 TFLOPS for the full 8GB RTX 3050.
| Comparison | RTX 3050 6GB | Full RTX 3050 8GB |
|---|---|---|
| Memory | 6GB GDDR6 | 8GB GDDR6 |
| Memory bus | 96-bit | Not stated in the launch material |
| FP32 throughput | 6.77 TFLOPS | 9.1 TFLOPS |
| Target | Entry-level, low-power and compact systems | Higher-performing RTX 3050 implementations |
Do not use the 8GB model’s performance expectations to predict results from this card. Game performance depends on the title, settings, resolution, drivers and the rest of the PC.

Will it fit in your PC?
“Low-profile” describes the card’s height, not every dimension or every system requirement. Before buying, check all of the following:
- Case support: The chassis must accept a half-height bracket and leave room for a two-slot card. ASUS’s supplied product description does not state exact card dimensions, so measure the available length, height and depth.
- Expansion slot: The motherboard needs a compatible PCI Express graphics slot with unobstructed access to both occupied slots.
- Power budget: Launch reporting puts the board at about 70W with no auxiliary connector, but verify the current SKU and the OEM computer’s slot and system limits.
- Airflow: Small cases and prebuilt desktops can have restricted intake or exhaust. Check that the cooler has open airflow and that neighboring components will not block it.
- Bracket hardware: Confirm that the package includes the half-height bracket required by your chassis, or that a compatible bracket is available for the exact model.
- Operating-system and firmware support: Check the PC maker’s BIOS policy and the supported Windows or Linux driver path, especially on older OEM systems.
Display connections and multi-monitor use
The launch report lists DVI-D, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a outputs with HDCP 2.3. That combination can connect an older DVI monitor alongside newer HDMI or DisplayPort screens without replacing every display. Actual simultaneous-display limits, resolutions, refresh rates and adapter compatibility depend on the card firmware, drivers, monitor inputs and the adapters used.

- RX 550 4GB LP Version: 4GB/GDDR5/128bit/DP+HDMI/PCIe 3.0*16/ Core Clock 1100-1183 MHz/ TDP 35W.
- Short/Small Form Factor (SFF) design fits in today’s Low-Profile desktops and workstations via the short bracket mounted on card. This LP card can fir easily fit in almost all mini-ITX cases.
- Less Power Consuming: Because of their small size and lesser components, low-profile graphics cards consume less power than regular-sized graphics cards. The 51Risc RX550 low-profile graphics card does not need an external power connector from the PSU, and it works only on the power supplied by the PCI Express x16 slot. Also, you do not need a high Wattage power supply for them, as a budget PSU of 300W is enough for them, given that it is an average PC build.
- Less Noisy: This low-profile graphics card is generally less noisy, because it comes with a single cooling fan, and uses a heatsink for cooling. it is almost silent in operation.
- What you get: 1x RX550 low profile graphics card, 1x User manual, professional after-sale service.
DVI-D is digital-only; it does not provide an analog VGA signal. If a monitor has VGA, you need an appropriate active converter rather than a passive DVI-to-VGA lead.
Who should consider it?
Good candidates
- Owners of slim or small-form-factor desktops that require a half-height card.
- OEM systems with no spare PCIe power cable and a motherboard slot rated for the card’s draw.
- Users adding several displays, including a DVI monitor, to a compatible workstation.
- Entry-level gaming or GPU-accelerated applications where the system cannot accommodate a larger card.
Cases that need caution
- Full-size gaming PCs where a faster, adequately powered card is available.
- Systems with a one-slot opening, a very short clearance envelope or blocked airflow.
- Machines whose OEM power, BIOS or chassis documentation does not permit add-in graphics cards.
- Buyers choosing solely on the RTX 3050 name and assuming 8GB-class performance.
What to verify before purchase
- Find the exact ASUS model number in the current regional listing.
- Measure the case opening and internal clearance, including two-slot depth and card length.
- Confirm the motherboard’s PCIe slot and the OEM’s maximum supported graphics-card power.
- Check whether a low-profile bracket is supplied and whether adjacent slots remain usable.
- Match DVI-D, HDMI or DisplayPort outputs to your monitors; plan active adapters for incompatible inputs.
- Compare current local price and stock with other low-profile cards. A $185 MSI price cited in 2024 launch coverage is historical context, not a current price.
- Review return terms in case the card, bracket or display combination does not fit the machine.
Bottom line
The ASUS GeForce RTX 3050 LP BRK 6GB is a specialized upgrade: compact, two-slot and reportedly under 75W, with a useful mix of DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort. It can be a sensible solution for a compatible small desktop or mixed-age multi-monitor setup. It is not a universal drop-in card, and its 6GB, 96-bit configuration should be evaluated on its own rather than treated as an 8GB RTX 3050.
