The best ScrapeOps alternative depends on what you need to replace: its proxy-provider aggregation, its scraping API, or both. For enterprise-scale extraction and structured results, compare Oxylabs; for adaptive, AI-assisted extraction, consider Zyte; for a simpler developer API, look at ScrapingBee. If you mainly need clean website screenshots rather than extracted page data, ScreenshotNeo is a separate, more focused option—not a like-for-like web-scraping API.

There is no universal winner. Compare the target sites you need to access, the output you need, the amount of browser rendering involved, the regions and proxy types required, and what you pay for a successful result. Prices and anti-bot capabilities change, so treat the figures below as those reported in the named comparisons and documentation, not as a current quote.

What ScrapeOps does—and what an alternative needs to replace

ScrapeOps is both a scraping platform and an aggregator for proxy services. Its documentation describes a Proxy API Aggregator that brings 15 smart proxy APIs behind one endpoint, and a Residential & Mobile Aggregator that provides access to 20 providers through one port. The stated purpose is to reduce the work of finding and maintaining proxy pools. It lists automatic proxy optimization and rotation, anti-bot bypass, and headless-browser support for its API aggregator.

That means “replace ScrapeOps” can refer to different jobs. A hosted scraping API may handle requests, browser rendering, proxy selection and data extraction in one service. A proxy aggregator may instead give you a managed route to providers while you supply more of the scraping logic. A residential or mobile proxy network may provide IP access without parsing pages or returning structured records. These are related categories, but they are not interchangeable.

ScrapeOps documentation lists starting prices of $9 per month for its Proxy API Aggregator and $15 per month for its Residential & Mobile Aggregator. Those are different offerings, not a single price for every ScrapeOps feature. Confirm current inclusions, limits and billing terms with the provider before comparing them with another plan.

ScrapeOps alternatives at a glance

Service Best fit Capabilities reported in the cited comparison or documentation Price information reported
ScreenshotNeo Screenshot-only tasks where you do not need extracted records or a scraping proxy Website screenshots or PDFs through an API; consent-banner, popup and chat-widget removal; MCP tools for AI agents Free plan: 1,000 shots per month; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots
ScrapeOps Proxy Aggregator One integration for proxy-provider routing and failover Aggregator for 15 smart proxy APIs; automatic optimization and rotation; headless-browser support for the API aggregator Documentation lists a $9/month starting price for the Proxy API Aggregator; it separately lists $15/month for the Residential & Mobile Aggregator
Oxylabs Web Scraper API Large or complex workloads where rendering, parsing and managed scale matter JavaScript rendering, rotation across 195 countries, structured parsing and CAPTCHA bypass, according to its 2026 comparison The 2026 comparison lists a starting price of $0.50 per 1,000 results
Zyte API Adaptive extraction, AI parsing and browser automation AI parsing, smart browser automation and CAPTCHA solving, according to the 2026 comparison Custom per-site pricing is reported; ScrapeOps describes domain-specific, success-based pricing
ScrapingBee API Developers seeking a straightforward API for JavaScript-heavy pages JavaScript rendering, automatic proxy rotation, CAPTCHA solving, SDKs and no-code support, according to the 2026 comparison The 2026 comparison lists $49/month; verify plan details and current pricing
Bright Data Web Unlocker Broad enterprise proxy and web-unlocking needs Positioned in the ScrapeOps comparison as an enterprise option with broad proxy and Web Unlocker coverage Not stated in the cited comparison
Decodo and Rayobyte Teams prioritizing lower entry pricing or configurable proxy pools Named as budget or customizability alternatives in the 2026 comparison; the cited material does not provide a directly comparable feature set Not stated in the cited comparison

The Oxylabs comparison is dated 2026, but its listed starting prices and capabilities are not a guarantee of a current offer or an outcome for your targets. ScrapeOps documentation and its 2025 report provide the ScrapeOps-specific details above. Verify vendor terms directly before committing.

How to choose: match the tool to the job

Choose an aggregator when you want provider routing, not a new extraction stack

If your existing scraper works but managing proxy suppliers, rotation and fallback behavior is taking too much time, the ScrapeOps Proxy Aggregator is the closest category match. Its purpose is to put multiple proxy APIs behind a shared integration. Assess whether the particular providers, regions, session behavior and fallback controls you need are available in the plan you would use. Aggregation does not automatically eliminate the need to build and maintain your own parsing, retries and data validation.

Choose a managed scraping API for rendering and extracted output

For pages that depend on JavaScript, compare how each API handles rendering and whether it returns raw HTML, parsed fields or both. Oxylabs is the stronger candidate in the supplied comparison when enterprise scale, structured parsing and managed rendering are central. ScrapingBee is positioned as a simpler developer option with JavaScript rendering and SDKs. Zyte is the candidate to evaluate when adaptive automation and AI parsing are especially relevant.

Do not equate a feature label such as “CAPTCHA solving” or “anti-bot bypass” with a guaranteed success rate. Target sites change their defenses, and the cited comparison does not provide a controlled, cross-vendor success benchmark. Run a trial against your own permitted URLs and measure usable results, latency and error categories.

Choose a proxy network when you need control over IP access

If you need to choose proxy type, location or session behavior directly, a proxy network may fit better than a turnkey API. Check country, city or other location granularity, residential versus mobile versus datacenter options, sticky-session duration, bandwidth rules, concurrency and authentication. The supplied comparison calls out geography and proxy control as important buying axes, but it does not establish a complete country-by-country or feature-by-feature matrix for every named provider.

Choose ScreenshotNeo only when the output you need is a screenshot or PDF

A screenshot service solves a narrower problem than web scraping: capturing a page as an image or PDF, not extracting a product catalog or returning structured fields from many pages. If that is the actual task—such as making page previews or rendering a URL for a workflow—ScreenshotNeo may remove the need to run a browser yourself. It is not a substitute for a scraping API when you need records, large-scale data extraction or proxy-provider selection.

Compare costs by usable result, not headline unit price

Scraping prices can be difficult to compare because vendors may charge per request, successful result, bandwidth unit, credit, domain tier or minimum commitment. ScrapeOps’ 2025 report describes domain-level pricing and opaque multipliers, and gives an Amazon example ranging from $98 to $2,000 per million requests. That range is a reported example for that target, not a universal ScrapeOps rate or a forecast for another site.

Likewise, Oxylabs’ $0.50-per-1,000-results starting figure and ScrapingBee’s listed $49/month are comparison-page starting prices, not proof that the same workload costs that amount. For an apples-to-apples estimate, ask each vendor to price the same target mix and define what counts as a billable result.

  1. Estimate monthly pages, refresh frequency and peak concurrency separately.
  2. Identify the share of URLs that require JavaScript rendering, geographically specific access or long-lived sessions.
  3. Ask whether failed loads, blocked pages, retries, CAPTCHA attempts and duplicate or cached results are billable.
  4. Measure the fraction of responses that pass your own completeness and correctness checks; divide total cost by usable records, not requests sent.
  5. Include engineering time for parsing, proxy management, monitoring and site-specific fixes when comparing a managed API with a proxy-only service.

For a screenshot-only workload, ScreenshotNeo’s stated plans are not a price comparison with the scraping services in the table: the unit is a screenshot, and the service returns an image or PDF rather than extracted records. Its free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Yearly billing gives two months free. All listed features are available on every plan.

Test reliability and target fit before migrating

A short proof of concept is more useful than choosing from a broad claim about reliability. Select representative pages: ordinary pages, JavaScript-heavy pages, pages from each important region and the target types that currently fail. Run the same set through each finalist, using equivalent output requirements and a comparable time window.

  • Usable-result rate: Count pages that contain the fields or content your application actually needs, not merely HTTP successes.
  • Failure classification: Separate timeouts, empty responses, access denials, CAPTCHA pages, malformed output and parser misses. Each cause may require a different fix.
  • Latency: Record median and tail latency, including browser-rendered jobs. A low average can conceal slow outliers that break a batch deadline.
  • Geographic consistency: Test from the specific countries or locations your product needs; a global country count does not establish identical coverage or performance everywhere.
  • Operational visibility: Check whether logs or response metadata help distinguish a target-site failure from a parsing or configuration error.
  • Terms and permitted use: Review target-site terms, applicable law and relevant robots directives. Oxylabs states that compliance is the user’s responsibility; access technology does not itself establish that a particular collection is permitted.

Do not extrapolate a small test into a guaranteed production success rate. Sites update layouts and defenses, and a result observed during a trial may change. Keep a way to detect schema drift and to pause or retry work safely.

Migration checklist

  1. Inventory what ScrapeOps currently supplies. Separate proxy routing, browser rendering, CAPTCHA handling, parsing, monitoring and data delivery. Mark which functions your own code provides.
  2. Write down output and access requirements. Specify fields, raw response needs, formats, page types, geography, session behavior, throughput and latency limits.
  3. Choose category before vendor. Decide whether the replacement should be an aggregator, a managed scraping API, a proxy network or a screenshot API.
  4. Build a representative trial. Use the same URL set, output schema, concurrency and acceptance checks for each candidate. Stay within site permissions and vendor terms.
  5. Compare total cost and recovery behavior. Include retries, unsuccessful jobs, minimum commitments and the engineering effort needed to handle failures.
  6. Run a staged cutover. Send a limited share of work to the new service, compare output quality, then expand only after monitoring and rollback are in place.

Or skip the browser setup

If your task is to capture a clean screenshot or PDF—not scrape structured data—ScreenshotNeo can take the URL in one GET request and return the capture. For example, this cURL command saves a WebP screenshot of Stripe; replace the URL with the page you are authorized to capture:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. Cookie and consent banners are accepted like a visitor and removed along with 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, and the response identifies page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server offers take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month without a card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

Common problems and fixes

The replacement gets HTTP responses but the data is empty

A successful transport response does not mean the page rendered or the parser matched. Check whether the target populates content with JavaScript, whether a consent layer obscures the page, and whether the expected fields still exist in the response. Test raw HTML and rendered output separately where the vendor permits it, then validate a known field before accepting a record.

One vendor works on some domains but not others

Anti-bot behavior and page structure vary by target. Break results down by domain instead of relying on an overall average. For the difficult domains, verify the specific service’s rendering, proxy and CAPTCHA capabilities and rerun a small, representative test. Do not assume that a provider’s stated capability guarantees access to every site.

Costs are higher than the request count suggested

Check whether billing is based on successful results, domain difficulty, credits, bandwidth, rendering or retries. ScrapeOps’ reported Amazon example illustrates how domain-specific multipliers can change effective cost. Request a written estimate for your target set and compare cost per usable record.

Migration creates duplicates or inconsistent records

Changing providers can alter timing, response structure and retry behavior. Preserve a stable key for each source item, validate required fields before writing, and make writes idempotent. Compare output from old and new pipelines during the staged cutover rather than assuming matching field names mean matching content.

Which ScrapeOps alternative should you try first?

For a close replacement focused on proxy aggregation and routing, begin with the ScrapeOps Proxy Aggregator’s category and compare the controls it exposes with your existing setup. For managed enterprise extraction, evaluate Oxylabs; for AI parsing and adaptive browser automation, evaluate Zyte; for a simpler JavaScript-rendering API, evaluate ScrapingBee. Consider Bright Data where broad enterprise proxy and Web Unlocker coverage is the priority, and Decodo or Rayobyte where the comparison’s budget or customization angle fits.

If what you really need is a screenshot rather than extracted data, try ScreenshotNeo first: clean shots remove consent banners and other overlays, only clean shots are billed, and its paid entry plan starts at $5 for 3,000 shots. It is a distinct tool for a narrower job, not a proxy aggregator or general scraping API.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a proxy aggregator return structured data by itself?

Not necessarily. Aggregation is about access to proxy providers through a common integration; confirm separately whether the service you choose includes page rendering, parsing and structured output.

Can these services guarantee access to a site?

No capability description establishes universal access. A site’s defenses, terms and technical behavior can change, so validate permitted use and test the exact targets you intend to process.
