Use Edge Screenshot before installing anything
Capture a full webpage
- Open the target page in Edge and wait for its content to finish loading.
- Open the page’s right-click menu and choose the Screenshot command, or press Ctrl+Shift+S. You can also open it through Edge Settings.
- Choose the full-page capture option. Edge scrolls through the page and assembles the result.
- Use the markup controls if you need to draw, highlight or otherwise annotate.
- Copy the result or save it using the command shown in the Screenshot interface.
Edge’s feature page says moving content, including GIFs and carousels, can remain active during capture. A page that behaves differently on your device may reflect Edge version, device or regional availability rather than a mistake in your steps.

Capture only an area
- Start Screenshot from the right-click menu, Settings or the keyboard shortcut.
- Drag over the region you want, adjusting the selection before confirming.
- Annotate, copy or save the selected image.
This is usually preferable for a chart, product panel or error message because it avoids the extra navigation and blank space of a full-page image.
When an extension adds something useful
GoFullPage for a direct full-page workflow
GoFullPage’s listing centers on capturing an entire webpage and downloading it as an image or PDF. It also describes a premium editor for annotation. Consider it when Edge’s native output or controls do not fit your workflow, especially if you want a single extension button dedicated to full-page capture. The listing cautions that exceptionally large pages can be split into separate images.
FireShot when webpage-to-PDF is the deciding requirement
FireShot’s listing emphasizes full webpage screenshots and conversion of webpages to PDF. Select it when a PDF deliverable matters more than recording or collaborative links. The description does not prove that it is faster, sharper or more reliable than Edge or another extension.
QwikCapture for capture plus recording and links
QwikCapture describes shortcuts for an area, the visible screen and a full page, with PNG saving, annotation, screen recording and shareable links. That combination suits tutorials, bug reports and demonstrations where a still image alone is insufficient. Confirm the requested permissions and the exact sharing behavior before granting access.

CocoShot’s listing describes screenshots, screen recording, annotation, editing and sharing, along with full-page capture and clickable PDF export. It is a candidate for teams that want several output types in one tool. Treat those capabilities as listing claims rather than independently verified results.
Install an Edge add-on and review its permissions
- In Edge, open the Extensions menu and choose Get Extensions for Microsoft Edge.
- Search for the add-on, open its listing and inspect the publisher information and requested permissions.
- Select Get. Edge displays a permission prompt before installation.
- Install only if the requested access matches the job. You can disable or remove the extension later from Edge’s extension controls.
Edge can also install extensions from the Chrome Web Store. To do that, enable the option to allow extensions from other stores, then review the same permission prompt. Store availability by itself does not establish that an extension is safe or privacy-preserving. Be cautious with permissions that allow reading or changing data on websites, particularly on pages containing account, payment or confidential information.
Match the tool to the capture you actually need
Full page versus visible screen
Use Edge Screenshot, GoFullPage, FireShot, QwikCapture or CocoShot when the output must include content below the fold. Use Snipping Tool when you need a window, desktop region or current screen. A desktop capture does not automatically reproduce a complete webpage.
Markup and redaction
Edge provides markup before copying or saving. QwikCapture, CocoShot and GoFullPage’s described editor add more annotation-oriented workflows. If you must hide personal data, inspect the image at full size after marking it; drawing over text is not the same as securely removing the underlying data from an editable source.

The Screenshot command is missing
- Try the right-click menu, Settings and Ctrl+Shift+S; one entry point may be unavailable in your build.
- Update Edge and check whether your device or market supports the feature.
