CyberGhost VPN Review 2026: Privacy Evidence, Device Limits and Value

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

CyberGhost is a credible mainstream VPN, but its strongest case is not complete anonymity or guaranteed streaming. Its policy says VPN-tunnel activity is not recorded, Deloitte has reviewed defined parts of its systems, and the provider publishes transparency reports. In return, buyers must accept a seven-device simultaneous-connection limit, uneven feature depth between apps, and prices that can change by market and renewal period.

Verdict: good for ordinary VPN use, with important qualifications

CyberGhost suits people who want a large, familiar VPN service for public Wi‑Fi, IP masking and broad device support. The available evidence supports a stated no-traffic-logging policy and independent assurance work, but neither makes a user completely anonymous or proves that every possible threat is eliminated.

It is a less obvious choice for households that need more than seven active connections, identical advanced controls on every platform, or a guaranteed streaming result. Price and promotional terms should be checked at checkout in your country, especially the renewal rate after any introductory period.

Is CyberGhost VPN safe?

A VPN changes your network path and hides your IP address from the sites you visit. It does not remove account-based identification, browser tracking, malware risk or the need to trust the VPN operator.

What CyberGhost says it does not collect

CyberGhost’s privacy policy says personal account information is not associated with activity inside the VPN tunnel. The policy states: “we do NOT track user traffic performed inside the CyberGhost VPN tunnel such as: browsing history, traffic destination, search preferences, data content, IP addresses or DNS queries.”

That is a claim about VPN traffic and activity, not a promise that the company collects no information in any context. The policy also describes information generated when people use its websites, including device and browser metadata, aggregated service statistics, and optional diagnostics. A user may voluntarily approve connection diagnostics or attach a connection log to a support ticket.

  • Optional support data: diagnostics or a connection log can be supplied by the user for troubleshooting.

What do the Deloitte reviews establish?

CyberGhost announced on February 24, 2026 that Deloitte Audit Romania had completed its third independent review, following reviews announced for 2022 and 2024. The company says the 2026 work used ISAE 3000 (Revised) and covered the VPN server network, configuration and change-management processes, incident-response controls, and token-based dedicated-IP design. Those details come from CyberGhost’s announcement; the complete 2026 assurance report was not examined here.

The publicly available 2024 Deloitte Audit SRL report is dated April 17, 2024 and assesses systems and supporting operations as of January 31, 2024. It describes controls intended to prevent activity logging, including disabling error and debug logs on traffic servers. The report carries a restricted-use limitation, so it should be read as historical evidence about a stated scope and date—not as universal certification or proof against every threat.

What CyberGhost’s transparency reports show

CyberGhost says it publishes quarterly reports covering legal requests and its handling of them. Its transparency page lists the following provider-reported figures:

Period DMCA complaints Police requests
2025 346,247 11
First six months of 2026 117,539 9

The 2026 numbers are partial first-half totals, not a full-year result. CyberGhost also says it stopped reporting malicious-activity flags after the second quarter of 2024. The complaint counts do not independently demonstrate the provider’s statement that it has no user-activity logs to hand over; both points should remain attributed to CyberGhost.

How many devices can use CyberGhost at once?

Official support documentation says you may install CyberGhost on any number of devices, but only seven devices can be connected simultaneously. If an eighth device is needed, disconnect or remove an active device first.

Platforms and router use

The product site lists VPN support for routers. Tom’s Guide describes applications for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux command line, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV Stick, with manual router configuration and console workarounds. Platform availability and app support can change, so verify the current official documentation for your devices before subscribing.

  • A More Responsive Experience: Enjoy smooth gaming, video streaming, and live feeds simultaneously. OFDMA makes your Wi-Fi stronger by allowing multiple clients to share one band at the same time, cutting latency and jitter.²
  • Expanded Wi-Fi Coverage: 4 high-gain external antennas and Beamforming technology combine to extend strong, reliable, Wi-Fi throughout your home.
  • Improved Battery Life: Target Wake Time helps your devices to communicate efficiently while consuming less power.
  • Improved Cooling Design: No heat ups, no throttles. A larger heat sink and redefined case design cools the WiFi 6 system and enables your network to stay at top speeds in more versatile environments.

Independent reviewers have noted lighter mobile-app functionality and more limited split tunneling on some platforms. These are reviewer observations, not a guarantee that every user or version will see the same behavior.

Is CyberGhost good for streaming?

CyberGhost is positioned for mainstream use and reviewers describe it as capable, but the available material does not establish a current, independently tested streaming success rate. Streaming services change their VPN blocking and catalog rules frequently, so no responsible review can promise uninterrupted access to a particular service or region.

If streaming is your main reason to buy, check the provider’s current money-back terms, test the services you actually use during that window, and keep a non-VPN fallback for blocked or unstable sessions. A router setup can cover devices without native apps, but exact router compatibility must be confirmed before purchase.

Prices, refund terms and renewal risk

TechRadar’s February 2026 review reported these illustrative US prices: $12.99 for one month, $6.99 per month on a six-month plan, and $2.19 per month for a 24-month plan with two extra months. It reported an initial two-year charge of $56.94 followed by yearly billing, plus a 45-day money-back guarantee for longer plans. These are dated third-party observations, not a live quote.

CyberGhost’s transparency page also states a 45-day guarantee. Before paying, check your local currency, tax, introductory duration, renewal price, billing frequency and the exact refund eligibility shown at checkout. Promotions and plan structures may differ by country and change over time.

Where CyberGhost fits—and where it does not

It is a reasonable fit if you need

  • A conventional VPN for changing your apparent IP address and securing traffic on untrusted networks.
  • Apps across common desktop, mobile, TV and router scenarios.
  • A provider that publishes policy language, assurance information and transparency reports.
  • A longer refund window on qualifying plans, subject to the terms shown in your market.

Consider alternatives or investigate further if you need

  • More than seven simultaneous connections.
  • Identical split-tunneling and advanced controls on every operating system.
  • A verified, current streaming guarantee for specific services.
  • A fully reviewed 2026 assurance report rather than the company’s announcement about its scope.
  • A fixed long-term price with no renewal-rate uncertainty.

Buying checklist for 2026

  1. List every device that must be online at the same time and compare that total with the seven-connection limit.
  2. Confirm that the current apps or router instructions support your operating systems, TV hardware and console setup.
  3. Read the privacy policy’s distinctions between VPN-tunnel activity, account information, website metadata, aggregated statistics and optional diagnostics.
  4. Review the checkout page for the initial price, renewal price, billing period, tax and refund deadline in your country.
  5. If streaming matters, test your own services during the eligible refund period rather than relying on a blanket promise.
  6. Use normal security practices—unique passwords, updates, multifactor authentication and careful account logins—because a VPN is not an anonymity system.
