In desktop Firefox, right-click the page, choose Take Screenshot, then Save full page. In Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl+Shift+S and choose Capture full page. On an iPhone, take a screenshot, open its preview, and tap Full Page. These modes include content below the fold in one capture.
What a scrolling screenshot does
A regular screenshot records only the pixels currently visible in the browser window. A full-page or scrolling screenshot captures the document beyond the viewport, producing one tall image (or, on some devices, a document). It is useful for sharing an article, preserving a receipt, reviewing a long design, or documenting a page without stitching many images together.
Choose the full-page command explicitly. “Visible area,” “Save visible,” or the operating system’s ordinary screenshot shortcut will not include content below the fold.
Firefox desktop: save the entire page
- Open the webpage in Firefox and wait for the content you need to appear.
- Right-click an empty area of the page and select Take Screenshot. Mozilla also documents Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows and Linux, and Command+Shift+S on macOS.
- In the screenshot controls, select Save full page. Select Save visible only when you want the current viewport.
- Use the available controls to save or copy the resulting image.
Firefox’s full-page mode is the simplest desktop route when the page is open in Firefox. Before saving, check the bottom of the preview: a page that loads additional material only after scrolling may need time or interaction before all of it is present.

Firefox Developer Tools: whole pages and individual elements
Developer Tools offers a second Firefox workflow and can target a specific component instead of the entire document.
- Open Developer Tools for the page.
- Find the screenshot control in the toolbox. If it is not visible, enable it in Available Toolbox Buttons.
- Use the screenshot control to capture the entire page, including content outside the current window bounds.
- For one element, open the Inspector, right-click the element, and choose Screenshot Node.
Element capture is useful for a chart, card, table, or component whose surrounding page should not appear in the image.
Microsoft Edge: Capture full page
- Open the webpage in Edge.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S, or open the browser’s Web capture/Screenshot feature.
- Select Capture full page.
- Optionally annotate the result with the pen or touch tools, then copy or save it.
Edge’s feature is designed to include portions that would otherwise require scrolling. Labels can vary by Edge release, so use the installed version’s Screenshot or Web capture menu if the shortcut opens a different panel.
iPhone: use Safari’s Full Page option
- With the webpage open, take a normal iPhone screenshot using your model’s screenshot buttons.
- Tap the screenshot preview that appears.
- At the top of the editor, tap Full Page.
- Crop the capture if you need only part of the page, then save or share it using the available controls.
Apple documents this workflow for content such as an entire Safari webpage. The exact export choices can depend on the iOS version and the item being captured; the documented interface does not establish that every third-party browser offers the same option.

When full-page capture misses content
Lazy-loaded images
Some pages request images only as they approach the viewport. If the screenshot shows empty image areas, scroll through the page once, wait for images to finish loading, and capture again. A browser’s built-in tool may still omit content that is never inserted into the document until a particular interaction occurs.
Infinite scroll
An infinite feed has no fixed bottom. Capture the portion currently loaded, then load more items and repeat, or use a capture service that can wait for a selector or delay. A “full page” command cannot include content the page has not created yet.
Sticky headers and repeated controls
Fixed navigation bars can appear repeatedly or cover content in a tall capture. Try the browser’s capture again after dismissing overlays. If you control the page, temporarily disable fixed-position elements with a print or capture stylesheet.
Cookie notices, chat bubbles and newsletter overlays
Dismiss these before capturing. If a banner returns on every page load, clear the decision or use a capture workflow that accepts consent and removes common overlays before rendering.
Very tall pages
Extremely long documents can produce large files or take longer to render. Capture a meaningful section, reduce image dimensions after saving, or export to a PDF when a paginated document is more practical than one tall bitmap.

Image or document: choose the right output
- PNG: best for sharp text, interface screenshots and transparency, but often the largest file.
- JPEG: smaller files for photographic pages; compression can soften text.
- WebP: efficient size and quality when the destination supports it.
- PDF: easier to print, search or paginate, but page breaks can differ from the visual layout of a single tall image.
For a quick message or bug report, an image is usually easiest. For records, printing or multi-page review, PDF is often more usable.

The result contains only the visible screen
You selected a normal screenshot or “Save visible.” Repeat the operation and choose Save full page in Firefox or Capture full page in Edge.
The bottom of the page is blank
Scroll through the page first to trigger lazy loading, wait for network activity to settle, then capture again. For automation, use a selector or network-idle wait.

A dialog covers the page
Close cookie, newsletter and chat dialogs before capture. If they recur, use a workflow that handles consent and removes known overlays, or hide the offending selector with custom CSS.
The capture is too large to share
Resize or compress the image, crop irrelevant sections, or use PDF with page ranges and margins.
