How to Merge Two Screenshots into One PDF (Desktop, Mobile, and Browser Methods)

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The simplest way to merge two screenshot files into one PDF is to convert them to PDF pages, place the pages in the required order, and export one document. In the usual result, each screenshot occupies its own page. If you want both screenshots on a single PDF page—side by side or stacked—you need a layout step rather than a basic file merge.

First decide what “one PDF” means

There are two common outcomes:

  • Two-page PDF: screenshot 1 is page 1 and screenshot 2 is page 2. This is what Acrobat’s desktop “Combine files” workflow creates.
  • One-page layout: both images appear together on one page. Use a document or design canvas, place each image, then export that page as a PDF.

Keep the original image files until you have opened the finished PDF and checked page order, cropping, readability, and orientation.

Method 1: Adobe Acrobat on Windows or macOS

Adobe’s desktop instructions (updated January 20, 2026) provide the clearest way to make a sequential PDF and reorder pages before saving.

  1. Open Acrobat. On Windows, choose Menu > Combine files. On macOS, choose File > Combine files.
  2. Add both screenshot files from your device, or drag them into the combine window.
  3. Review the thumbnail preview. Drag thumbnails until the intended first screenshot is first. If a source file contains multiple pages, expand it and remove unwanted pages.
  4. Choose Combine.
  5. Rename the resulting document and save it where you can find it.

The result is one PDF with one screenshot per page. The cited Adobe workflow explains the operation but does not establish that every Acrobat subscription or edition includes identical features, so check your installed product’s access if the command is unavailable.

When the screenshots must share one page

“Combine files” is not the same as arranging two images on one sheet. Create a blank document in a layout application, insert both screenshots, resize them without stretching, and export or print that document to PDF. Leave enough margin for printers or portals that trim page edges. A portrait page generally suits vertically stacked phone screenshots; a landscape page usually gives side-by-side desktop screenshots more room.

Method 2: Adobe Acrobat on Android or iPhone

Adobe’s mobile documentation (updated August 18, 2026) describes image-to-PDF conversion and states that this feature requires an Adobe Acrobat subscription.

Android

  1. Open Acrobat and select Create > Create PDF.
  2. Browse to the screenshot image and select it.
  3. Tap Add.
  4. Save the generated PDF, then repeat for the second image if your version does not offer a multi-image selection.

iOS

  1. Open Acrobat and choose Add > Create PDF.
  2. Browse to and select the screenshot.
  3. Save the PDF, then convert the second screenshot if necessary.

Adobe documents selecting an image, but its page does not substantiate that two screenshots can always be selected and converted as a batch in one action. If you create two PDFs, use a combine-files function afterward, or move the images to a desktop workflow.

Method 3: Adobe Express in a browser

Adobe Express provides a browser route for combining JPG and other supported file types into a PDF. Because this involves selecting local files in a web product, consider whether the screenshots contain passwords, personal details, customer information, or confidential work before uploading them. The documentation does not state comparative retention or privacy terms.

Express is suitable when you want a quick browser workflow. For sensitive material, an offline desktop application may better fit your organization’s handling policy, but the reviewed Adobe documentation does not provide a product-to-product security comparison.

How to place both screenshots on one PDF page

If the recipient expects one page rather than a two-page attachment, use this layout process:

  1. Start a document with the required paper size (for example, A4 or Letter) and orientation.
  2. Insert the first screenshot and set its width or height numerically where possible.
  3. Insert the second screenshot, preserving its aspect ratio.
  4. Choose a side-by-side or stacked arrangement. Align edges and keep a readable gap between images.
  5. Add labels only if they clarify sequence; do not cover content in the screenshots.
  6. Export to PDF, then zoom in on text and inspect the page at 100%.

Do not stretch a narrow mobile screenshot to fill a wide page. If the images have different dimensions, align them by their long edge or place each inside a consistent frame.

Choosing the right workflow

Workflow Runs on Best for Important qualification
Acrobat Combine files Windows/macOS Two ordered PDF pages Preview, reorder, expand, and remove pages before combining; plan access is not compared in the source.
Acrobat image-to-PDF Android/iOS Converting an image on a phone Adobe says a subscription is required; batch selection of two images is not established.
Adobe Express Combine Files Browser Quick JPG-to-PDF combining Supports JPG and other inputs; files are selected in a web product.
Layout document then export Desktop or mobile editor Both screenshots on one page Requires manual sizing and positioning.

Quality, order, and file-size checks

  • Order: name files with a prefix such as 01-login.png and 02-result.png, then verify the visual order in the preview.
  • Readability: open the PDF at 100% or higher. Small interface text can become unreadable if images are scaled down.
  • Orientation: rotate pages before export when a screenshot is sideways.
  • Cropping: check all four edges; a layout tool can clip an image when it exceeds the page frame.
  • Size: screenshots are normally already compressed. Avoid repeatedly converting between formats, which can soften text.
  • Final inspection: open the saved PDF in a second viewer or upload preview, and confirm that both pages or both placed images are present.

Troubleshooting

The screenshots appear in the wrong order

Return to the thumbnail preview and drag the pages into order before combining. If the tool sorts by filename, rename files with numbered prefixes and add them again.

Only one screenshot is in the PDF

Check that both files were added, not merely selected in a file picker and then replaced by the second selection. In mobile Acrobat, convert each image separately if the documented flow accepts only one image, then combine the resulting PDFs on desktop or in a supported browser workflow.

The PDF has two pages, but I need one

Use a layout document and export one page containing both images. A file-combining command creates sequential pages; it does not automatically create a collage.

Text looks blurry

Do not enlarge a low-resolution screenshot. Re-capture at the required display scale, preserve the image’s aspect ratio, and avoid multiple lossy conversions.

A page is sideways or cropped

Rotate the source or page thumbnail, check the target page orientation, and leave margins around the image before exporting again.

Or skip the browser setup

If what you really need is a fresh screenshot of a web page delivered as a PDF—not the merging of two existing local image files—ScreenshotNeo can return a PDF from one API request. It is useful when a script or build process should capture a URL repeatedly, rather than opening a browser and manually saving images. See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for parameters and response details.

Example cURL request:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

The example above requests an image. To produce a PDF, set the API’s PDF option as documented and choose a PDF output filename. The same service also accepts options for full-page capture, waiting for a selector or network idle, custom CSS and JavaScript, paper size, margins, landscape mode, page ranges, cookies, headers, user agent, timezone, geolocation, resource blocking, caching, signed links, asynchronous jobs, webhooks, and bulk capture.

Python

import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)

For a PDF response, use the PDF parameters in the documentation and save the bytes with a .pdf filename.

Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server includes take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. It is not a file-merging editor, so use Acrobat or a layout tool when your two screenshots already exist on disk.

There is a free tier of 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. Create a free ScreenshotNeo account if automated web captures fit your workflow.

FAQ

Can I merge PNG screenshots?

Yes. Acrobat and browser workflows can convert common image files, including JPG; if PNG is rejected, export a copy in a supported format or use a desktop layout tool.

Do I need a scanner or printer?

No. Existing screenshot files are digital images, so a PDF application or layout editor is sufficient.

Can merging improve screenshot quality?

No. Combining files changes the container and page arrangement; it cannot restore detail that was absent from the original image.
