How to convert a DOC file to PNG online

Method 2: PDF24’s two-step route
- Open PDF24’s online converter and choose the Office-to-PDF function.
- Upload the DOC or DOCX file and create a PDF.
- Open PDF24’s PDF-to-PNG tool and upload the generated PDF.

Choose Zamzar for flexible sources and light usage

Output quality, pages and file formats
Multi-page DOC files
PNG is an image format, not a document container with a standard multi-page structure. Converters normally produce one PNG per page. Keep the files in page order and use a PDF instead when recipients need selectable text, searchable content or a single portable document.

Fonts and layout
Missing fonts, floating text boxes, tracked changes, section breaks, tables and embedded charts can shift during conversion. Accept or remove tracked changes in Word first, embed or replace unusual fonts where possible, and inspect the first, middle and last page.
Macros and embedded content
A PNG cannot preserve editable macros, formulas, hyperlinks or document structure. Treat the image as a visual snapshot. Never enable macros merely to prepare a file for an online converter.
Troubleshooting
The upload is rejected
Check the extension, file size and service limits. Save a fresh copy as .doc or .docx, remove a password if policy permits, and retry with a short filename. Zamzar’s free allowance and file-size limits can also cause a refusal after earlier conversions.
The result has missing text or changed spacing
Open the DOC in Word or another compatible editor, replace unavailable fonts, accept tracked changes and export a PDF locally if possible. Then convert that PDF to PNG and compare page dimensions.

Only some pages are present
Confirm that the service created one image per page and that every download completed. For large documents, download in smaller groups and verify filenames before closing the browser.
A private document remains online longer than expected
Do not assume deletion has occurred. Contact the provider through its current support channel, remove the file from your account if that option exists, and use a redacted copy for future tests. PDF24 and Convertio publish specific deletion statements, but you should still verify the live policy.
The converter times out
Retry on a stable connection with a smaller test file. Complex pages with high-resolution images or unusual embedded objects take more processing. If the same file repeatedly fails, create a clean PDF and convert that instead.

Cost and workflow planning
For one or two pages, a browser converter is usually faster than configuring an API. For recurring jobs, record the input URL or filename, page count, output names and conversion date, then verify a sample automatically or manually. Keep the original DOC until the PNG has passed inspection. Do not treat a converted image as an archival replacement for the source document.
