“No matches” on Tinder can mean four different things: there are no profiles left under your filters, people are available but are not liking you back, incoming Likes are not synchronizing, or your profile is not being shown. Identify which situation you have before changing your account or paying for exposure.
First, identify what is actually failing

These are separate problems. Widening your search cannot make a hidden profile visible, and a better bio cannot fix an empty Discovery stack caused by a connection error.
If Tinder shows no new profiles
Turn Discovery on
When Discovery is disabled, Tinder does not show your profile to new people. You can still view and message existing matches, and people you liked before disabling Discovery may still be able to see you and like you back.
- Open Tinder and tap the profile icon.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to Discovery.
- Turn on Enable Discovery or Show me on Tinder; the label can differ by interface or market.

Widen filters gradually
In Profile icon → Settings → Discovery Settings, increase the age range and distance radius a little at a time. Review gender, orientation and other preferences, and check whether a preference is marked as a strict Dealbreaker. Dealbreakers prevent Tinder from showing exceptions outside that setting.
Tinder says its recommendations start with location, age, distance, gender and gender preferences. If the available profiles inside those limits run out, Tinder may show people slightly outside the age or distance ranges when Dealbreakers allow it. The details are documented in Tinder’s Discovery guidance.
Expand one setting, use Tinder for a while, then assess the result. A larger radius produces more inventory but may mean longer travel and less practical compatibility.
Check location and travel state
- Confirm Tinder has permission to use your device location.
- Check whether Passport is set to another city.
- If you recently traveled or changed Passport locations, allow for a delayed update. Tinder says people can continue seeing profiles from a previous city for up to 24 hours.
- Review whether a very small radius simply contains few active users.
Tinder’s explanation of distant profiles and location changes is at The profiles I see are far away. A VPN or location-spoofing setup can complicate diagnosis, but Tinder does not identify VPN use as a universal cause of empty Discovery.

In a small town, during a short trip, or after extensive swiping, you may have viewed most profiles matching your current settings. That is an inventory limitation, not proof that Tinder has banned your account. Broaden settings modestly, wait for new activity, or try again from a different legitimate location.

Refresh the app
Tinder’s recommended sequence for an empty Discovery stack is to expand preferences, verify the connection, and delete and reinstall the app so the latest version and a clean session load. The official steps are in I’m not seeing profiles in Discovery.
If you can swipe but nobody matches
A right swipe is not a match by itself
A match occurs only when both people like each other. You can therefore have a functioning Discovery stack and still receive no matches if the people you like have not seen your profile, are inactive, have already rejected it, or have preferences that exclude you. Tinder does not publish a guaranteed exposure or match rate.
Improve the profile’s conversion
- Use a recent, well-lit opening photo in which your face is easy to identify.
- Avoid making the first image a group shot, a heavily filtered picture, or one dominated by sunglasses or an unclear subject.
- Add several varied photos rather than near-duplicates.
- Write a specific bio that gives someone an easy conversation opening; mention a real interest, routine or plan instead of a list of generic traits.
- Add interests or lifestyle information where it accurately represents you.
- Turn on Smart Photos if it is available.

Use Tinder normally, not as an algorithm contest
Tinder says it prioritizes active users, particularly people active at the same time, and considers profile information, photo similarities, Likes and Nopes. It also says it no longer relies on the old Elo model. That supports regular, genuine use, but it does not establish a magic swiping hour or a guaranteed advantage from a specific daily quota. Avoid indiscriminately liking every profile; selectivity is also one of the signals Tinder says it considers.
A low Like rate is not automatic evidence of a shadowban. Tinder’s public explanation describes recommendation signals, not a universal hidden punishment for receiving few Likes.

Check whether Tinder is hiding your profile
Tinder currently says a profile may be hidden when its system cannot detect a valid face photo. A hidden profile cannot be shown to other people and cannot use features such as Likes, Super Likes, Boost or Super Boost, although you can still open Settings and chat with existing matches.
If Tinder displays a face-photo notice, add a qualifying image that:

- Is reasonably well lit;
- Is not obscured by a mask, hand, phone or similar object; and
- Follows Tinder’s Community Guidelines.
This requirement is rolling out in selected regions, so it may not apply to every account. Tinder says legitimate religious and safety-related exceptions may be considered through support. Read My profile is hidden if you see this warning.
When Likes do not become matches
An incoming Like may not immediately produce a visible match for several reasons:
- The person deleted their account, became unavailable or unmatched.
- Their profile is outside your current age, distance or other filters.
- You already swiped left on that profile.
- Tinder has not synchronized correctly.
- Access to a full Likes list depends on the subscription and market. Tinder’s FAQ identifies “See Who Likes You” as a Gold feature, so not every Like is necessarily presented in the ordinary free swipe experience.
Temporarily broaden Discovery settings, then check the Matches screen. Do not assume that every Like must remain available indefinitely or appear in the standard stack.

For synchronization problems, switch between Wi‑Fi and mobile data, log out and back in, reinstall Tinder, and test Tinder.com in a browser. These steps come from Tinder’s match troubleshooting guidance.

One or two matches are missing
Tinder says the most likely explanations are that the person unmatched you or deleted their account. There is no repair step that can restore a match another user ended.
All matches vanish
Treat this as a session or loading problem first:
- Tap the profile icon.
- Open Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Logout.
- Sign back in.
If the list remains empty, reinstall Tinder and test Tinder.com. A browser result that differs from the app helps isolate an app problem. Tinder lists these steps at Problems with Matches.

Tinder says a Boost can generate up to 10× more views, not 10× more matches, and its support page states that Boost and Super Boost do not guarantee matches: Used Boost or Super Boost and didn’t get any new matches. Details for Boost and Super Boost can change by market and test group.

Subscription prices are not universal. Tinder says plan features can vary by location, age, platform, duration and testing; check the price shown in your own account rather than relying on a generic figure. The feature list is at Tinder subscriptions.
When to contact Tinder support
Contact support after checking Discovery, filters, location, face-photo visibility and the app itself. Include:
- The account email or phone number through Tinder’s private support form, never in a public comment;
- Device model, operating system and app version if visible;
- When the problem began;
- Screenshots of empty Discovery, missing matches or a hidden-profile notice;
- Whether Discovery is enabled;
- Whether Tinder.com behaves differently; and
- Whether the issue affects all matches or only one person.

Do not delete and recreate your account as a first fix
Starting over does not repair narrow filters, an exhausted local pool, a weak profile or a technical outage. It can erase matches and conversations, complicate restoration of paid benefits or consumables, and trigger additional verification or safety review. Repeated account creation also does not guarantee a new-user boost or remove an account-level restriction.

Use this order instead:
- Confirm Discovery is enabled.
- Broaden filters and verify location.
- Check for a face-photo visibility notice.
- Improve the main photo, bio and profile details.
- Log out, reinstall and test Tinder.com.
- Contact support with specific evidence.
- Only then consider deletion, after understanding what will be lost.
Your five-minute Tinder match checklist
- Visibility: Profile icon → Settings → Discovery; turn on Enable Discovery or Show me on Tinder.
- Filters: Increase age and distance modestly, review gender/orientation settings and temporarily disable strict Dealbreakers.
- Location: Check device permission, Passport and any recent travel delay.
- Profile: Add a clear face photo, replace or reorder the first image, rewrite the bio with specifics, and enable Smart Photos.
- App: Switch Wi‑Fi/mobile data, log out and in, reinstall Tinder, and compare with Tinder.com.
- Diagnosis: If profiles return but matches do not, focus on profile conversion and local demand rather than visibility.
- Support: Send Tinder screenshots, device details and the approximate start time if the problem continues.
The practical dividing line is simple: an empty stack is usually a Discovery, filter, location or app-state problem; a full stack with no mutual Likes is usually an exposure or profile-conversion problem; and disappearing matches require separate account and synchronization troubleshooting.
