What “full-page screenshot” means on an HP computer
HP is the computer brand; the command is determined by Windows and the browser displaying the page. A full-page capture scrolls through the webpage and combines content below the visible viewport into one saved image or clipboard copy. That is different from a full-display screenshot, which records only the current desktop view.

How to capture a full webpage in Microsoft Edge
Microsoft documents Edge Screenshot as able to capture a full page or a selected area, including long or moving webpages, and then let you add comments or markup before copying or saving.
- Open the page you want to capture in Microsoft Edge and wait for its content to load.
- Open Screenshot. You can right-click an empty part of the page and choose it, open it from Edge Settings, or press Ctrl+Shift+S.
- In the Screenshot overlay, choose the option for a full-page capture rather than a selected area.
- Review the resulting long image. Use the overlay’s copy or save command, depending on whether you want it on the clipboard or as a file.
- If needed, apply the available pen or touch markup before copying or saving.
If Screenshot is missing
Microsoft notes that availability and functionality can vary by device type, market and browser version. Update Edge and check again. If the command still does not appear, use the Firefox workflow below rather than treating a normal display screenshot as a substitute.

How to capture a full webpage in Firefox
Mozilla’s current support instructions provide a full-page option directly in Firefox.
- Open the target webpage in Firefox.
- Right-click an empty part of the page and select Take Screenshot, or press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux.
- Choose Save full page. Firefox will prepare a capture that includes the page below the visible area.
- Select Download to save the image in Firefox’s default download folder, or select Copy to put it on the clipboard.
When Firefox is the better fallback
Use Firefox when Edge’s Screenshot command is unavailable in your installed version or when you specifically want its separate Download and Copy actions. The shortcut is the same key combination documented for Edge, so try the browser’s own menu if the shortcut opens a different command on your system.
What the Windows screenshot shortcuts actually capture
Windows+Print Screen
On Windows 10 and 11, HP documents Windows+Print Screen as saving a full-display image in Pictures > Screenshots. It records the desktop exactly as shown at that moment. A long webpage extending below the viewport is not included.
Windows+Shift+S
Windows+Shift+S opens the snipping interface so you can select a screen region and copy it to the clipboard. It is useful for a visible portion of a page, not for automatically scrolling through the page.

HP’s guide describes area, window and full-display modes in Snipping Tool. Those modes change what is visible in the capture, but they should not be described as scrolling webpage capture. For a complete webpage, return to Edge Screenshot or Firefox Take Screenshot.

Preparing a page for a cleaner capture
- Scroll through the page once if important sections load only after you interact with them. Browser full-page tools can behave differently on pages with dynamic content.
- Close unrelated tabs and move the pointer away from text or controls you do not want in the image.
- For a page that changes while it is being captured, wait for the visible content to settle before starting. Edge specifically documents support for long or moving webpages, but a live page can still produce a changing result.
- After saving, open the file and inspect the top, middle and bottom. Look for missing lazy-loaded images, duplicated sections or a cut-off footer before sharing it.
When to use additional software
Browser tools are the most direct choice for webpages. If you need scrolling capture in a desktop application, repeated annotation, or image and video editing, HP names Snagit as a paid option. HP also names ShareX and PicPick as free alternatives, but the cited guidance does not establish their current feature sets in detail. Confirm the present behavior of any third-party tool before installing it or building a workflow around it.
Troubleshooting full-page captures
The result contains only the visible screen
You used a Windows display shortcut or a Snipping Tool mode. Reopen the page in Edge or Firefox and choose the browser’s explicit full-page command.
The browser command is not present
In Edge, update the browser and check both the page’s right-click menu and Edge Settings. Microsoft says feature availability can vary by device type, market and version. If it remains unavailable, use Firefox and its Save full page option.

Use the browser menu instead of the keyboard shortcut. On Windows and Linux, Firefox documents Ctrl+Shift+S for Take Screenshot; another application or browser extension may intercept the same keys.
The capture is missing sections or images
Check the saved image at several points, then repeat after allowing the page to finish loading and any interactive content to appear. Dynamic pages may change during a capture; record a stable state when accuracy matters.

You need the image in another application
Use Edge’s copy or save action, or Firefox’s Copy and Download actions. Clipboard copying is convenient for a document or chat; saving is safer when you need an archive or must preserve the original capture.
You need a non-browser window
Edge and Firefox full-page commands apply to webpages. For a long document or application window outside a browser, use a tool designed for scrolling screen capture, such as the optional software HP lists, and verify that it supports your specific application.
