ScrapeIt vs. Its Competitors: Features and Pricing Compared

ScrapeIt sells managed scraping rather than raw API access. Compare its €199 one-time and €169–€549 monthly plans with self-serve and infrastructure alternatives, and choose by operating responsibility.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Short answer: ScrapeIt is a managed web-scraping service, not a low-level proxy or extraction API. It builds, hosts, monitors, repairs and delivers a scraper for you. Its published plans run from €199 for a one-time extract to €549 per month for three deliveries a day, with setup fees on recurring plans. Apify and Browse AI are self-serve platforms; Zyte, ScraperAPI, Bright Data and similar products are infrastructure APIs; Scrapethat publishes self-serve/API-style credit plans. The right choice depends less on the headline price than on who operates the scraper, how difficult the websites are, how often data must refresh and how it must be delivered.

What ScrapeIt sells

ScrapeIt separates scraping products into three operating models:

Model You operate Vendor supplies Best fit
Managed service Requirements, acceptance criteria and budget Scraper build, hosting, monitoring, repairs and structured delivery Teams that want an outcome without maintaining scraping infrastructure
Infrastructure/API Scraper code, schemas, workflows, quality assurance and maintenance Proxies, unblocking, browser rendering or extraction APIs Engineering teams that need control over a data pipeline
Self-serve platform Configuration, runs, quality checks and often maintenance Console, actors or templates, scheduling and platform features Analysts and developers willing to operate workflows themselves

ScrapeIt places itself in the managed-services category and names Zyte Data, ScrapeHero, PromptCloud and Grepsr as examples in that same category. That classification is ScrapeIt’s own positioning, not an independent performance benchmark.

The managed model is the important distinction. You describe the sources, fields, cadence and delivery target; ScrapeIt builds and runs the extraction, then provides structured output through an API, CSV or direct integration. Typical use cases listed by the vendor include competitor-price monitoring, lead generation, market analysis, marketplace data and process automation.

ScrapeIt pricing and plan mechanics

These are the headline prices and limits shown on ScrapeIt’s current pricing page, accessed in 2026. Recurring tiers also have a one-time setup fee. Storage is the period for which the service retains delivered data.

Plan Price Setup fee Maximum rows Frequency Runtime target Storage
Airplane €199 one time None listed 100,000 One time Up to five working days 7 days
Helicopter €169/month €499 250,000 Monthly Up to five working days 14 days
Glasses €229/month €499 1,000,000 Weekly Up to five working days 30 days
Microscope €349/month €499 2,000,000 Daily Same day 60 days
DNA €549/month €799 3,000,000 Three times daily Same day 90 days

For budgeting, the first recurring month is the monthly fee plus setup: €668 for Helicopter, €728 for Glasses, €848 for Microscope and €1,348 for DNA. Those totals are simple arithmetic from the listed prices; the vendor may change prices or quote custom work separately.

What the table does not show

The detailed plan matrix also changes automated versus manual quality checks, scheduling, delta scraping, image storage, translation, weekend scraping, maintenance, change requests, dedicated project management, Slack access, SLA availability and delivery methods. Confirm these items for your project rather than assuming that a higher row limit automatically includes every operational feature.

ScrapeIt lists a sample dataset at €50 and a data example at €9.99, displayed with a €14.99 reference price. Treat both as page-listed prices that can change.

How ScrapeIt’s price is determined

The vendor identifies five main cost drivers:

  • Source count: one domain is a different project from dozens of marketplaces or retailer sites.
  • Data volume: row ceilings limit how much is collected in each plan period.
  • Frequency: one-time, monthly, weekly, daily and three-times-daily schedules require different operating effort.
  • Source difficulty: JavaScript-heavy pages, login walls, anti-bot controls, CAPTCHA challenges and deep pagination increase implementation and maintenance work.
  • Output integration: CSV delivery is simpler than a continuously synchronized API, cloud bucket or direct database integration.

ScrapeIt says ordinary projects commonly launch in four to nine working days. Heavily protected sources can take longer. Ask for a written scope covering fields, pagination, variants, missing-value handling, update detection, delivery format and acceptance tests before comparing quotes.

ScrapeIt compared with the main competitor categories

Managed services: ScrapeIt, Zyte Data, ScrapeHero, PromptCloud and Grepsr

In this category, the comparison is primarily about project management and the delivered dataset rather than a monthly API call allowance. The vendor builds and operates the scraper, so your engineering team can focus on using the data. This is attractive when a source changes frequently, when internal staff cannot maintain browser automation, or when response time to breakage matters more than owning every implementation detail.

The trade-off is less runtime control and less transparent unit economics. Row ceilings, setup fees, quality-check levels, image retention, change requests and custom integrations can materially affect the quote. A managed plan is not automatically cheaper than an API stack; it can be cheaper in engineering time when maintenance would otherwise become a permanent task.

Infrastructure APIs: Zyte API, ScraperAPI, Bright Data and Oxylabs

Infrastructure providers supply capabilities such as proxies, unblocking, browser rendering or extraction endpoints. Your team still writes the scraper, defines the schema, handles pagination and retries, validates results and repairs selectors when a site changes. This model gives you control over request timing, data transformations and deployment, but the sticker price omits engineering and operations.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Use an infrastructure API when you already have developers who can own the pipeline, need custom logic on every page, or want to move between providers without handing over the whole project. Compare the provider’s billing unit, rendering and proxy behavior, concurrency limits, CAPTCHA policy, retention and support terms—not just a monthly number.

Self-serve platforms: Apify, Octoparse and Browse AI

Self-serve tools provide a console, templates or ready-made actors. You configure runs, inspect output, schedule jobs and usually handle quality assurance and maintenance yourself. They can be faster than building every component from scratch, especially for standard pages, but a template does not eliminate the need to monitor failures and schema drift.

Apify is commonly discussed alongside both actors and APIs; the practical question is still who is responsible for the run. If your team must tune selectors, restart jobs, investigate empty results and change workflows after a redesign, you are operating the system even when the platform supplies the runtime.

Scrapethat’s published credit plans

Scrapethat lists $49 per month for 50,000 credits, $99 per month for 200,000 credits and $249 per month for 1,000,000 credits. Its page lists anti-bot bypass, CAPTCHA handling, user-agent rotation, headless-browser support, retries, proxy rotation, WAF bypass, JavaScript rendering and custom headers as included features.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Those prices are not directly comparable with ScrapeIt’s row-based managed plans. A credit may represent a request or an operation, while ScrapeIt’s ceiling is expressed in delivered rows and includes vendor operation. Estimate the number of pages, retries, rendered requests and fields you will need before converting either model into a project budget.

Decision framework: which model fits?

Choose a managed service when

  • The business needs a dependable dataset rather than a scraping codebase.
  • Several sources, frequent redesigns or anti-bot controls would make maintenance continuous.
  • You need a defined delivery method, quality checks and a support contact.
  • The team can specify acceptance criteria but does not want to run browsers, proxies and retry queues.

Choose an infrastructure API when

  • You need custom extraction logic, transformations or an event-driven pipeline.
  • You have engineers responsible for schemas, retries, monitoring and legal/compliance review.
  • Request-level control and provider portability are more important than turnkey delivery.

Choose a self-serve platform when

  • The sites are reasonably stable and an analyst or developer can operate scheduled jobs.
  • You want to prototype quickly before committing to a managed build.
  • You accept responsibility for run failures, data checks and changes to templates or actors.

Questions to answer before buying

  1. How many domains and page types are in scope?
  2. How many rows or pages are required per run, and how many historical records must be retained?
  3. Is the cadence one time, monthly, weekly, daily or multiple times per day?
  4. Are login, JavaScript, CAPTCHA, anti-bot systems, infinite scroll or deep pagination involved?
  5. Which fields are mandatory, and how will missing, duplicate or changed values be handled?
  6. Should output arrive as CSV, JSON, an API response, cloud storage or a direct database integration?
  7. Who receives an alert when a source changes, and what response time is required?
  8. Do you need delta scraping, images, translation, weekend runs, manual checks, an SLA or dedicated project management?

Example: ecommerce price and stock monitoring

ScrapeIt describes projects spanning dozens or hundreds of marketplaces, brand sites, retailers or direct competitors. A monitoring brief should define product identity matching, price and currency fields, stock states, discounts, variants, images and the acceptable delay between a site change and your update. Near-real-time monitoring may require the three-times-daily DNA cadence or a custom scope; a weekly market snapshot may fit a lower tier.

A do-it-yourself stack would require page discovery, browser or HTTP execution, proxy and anti-bot handling, extraction code, deduplication, change detection, storage and alerting. Its monthly vendor bill may look lower than a managed plan while your engineering and on-call cost is higher. Conversely, if you already operate that stack, an infrastructure API can be more economical and more flexible.

Operating a do-it-yourself API stack

If you choose an infrastructure API or self-serve platform, treat the scraper as production software:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Write a schema and acceptance examples before selecting a provider.
  2. Probe representative pages, including blocked, empty, redirected and JavaScript-only cases.
  3. Implement retries with bounded backoff and record the reason for every failed page.
  4. Validate row counts, required fields, duplicate keys and unexpected HTML changes.
  5. Store raw responses or screenshots where permitted so you can diagnose parser regressions.
  6. Track request, proxy, rendering and storage costs separately from developer time.
  7. Alert on sudden drops in rows, field completeness or successful-page rate.

If your workflow also needs clean website screenshots for documentation, visual QA or page records, ScreenshotNeo is a separate website screenshot API and MCP server. It accepts cookie and consent banners like a visitor, then removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; each step can be disabled. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing result.

One GET request returns PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF. The API supports full-page captures with lazy images loaded, CSS-selector element capture, dark mode, device presets or custom viewports, retina scale, PDF paper settings and page ranges, custom CSS and JavaScript, clicks, wait conditions, blocked resources, headers, cookies, user agents, authorization, timezone, geolocation, transparent backgrounds, resizing, TTL caching, signed links, asynchronous webhooks, bulk capture of up to 100 URLs per call and a usage API. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients.

See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for parameter details.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

Troubleshooting and risk checks

The row count is lower than expected

Check pagination depth, variant handling, deduplication rules, blocked pages and whether the plan’s row ceiling was reached. Ask for a run-level report that distinguishes unavailable pages from pages with no matching records.

Results are stale

Compare the requested cadence with the plan’s actual schedule and runtime target. A five-working-day runtime is not equivalent to same-day delivery. Confirm timezone, weekend scraping and delta-scrape behavior in writing.

A site redesign breaks fields

In a managed plan, confirm what maintenance and change requests include. In a self-serve or API model, keep selectors versioned, retain failing samples and add alerts for field completeness and schema changes.

The API bill is unexpectedly high

Count rendered requests, retries, proxy traffic, CAPTCHA attempts and pages revisited by pagination logic. Compare that operational total with a managed quote that includes hosting and repairs, rather than comparing only the base subscription.

Data quality is disputed

Define acceptance tests for required fields, duplicate handling, timestamps, currency, missing values and sample coverage. Ask whether checks are automated, manual or both; the plan matrix distinguishes these levels.

Bottom-line buying guidance

ScrapeIt is the clearest fit when you want a maintained dataset delivered to a specification and prefer to outsource scraper operations. Its €199 one-time extract is an entry point for a limited project, while recurring tiers add row capacity and faster or more frequent delivery but also add setup fees. Infrastructure APIs and self-serve platforms can cost less in subscription terms and provide more control, yet they transfer browser, proxy, retry, quality and maintenance work to your team. Compare total operating responsibility, not labels or headline prices.
