Use your phone’s normal screenshot shortcut, then choose the scrolling option: Full Page on iPhone, Capture more on Android 12 and newer, or Scroll capture on Samsung Galaxy. These controls create one capture that extends beyond the visible screen, but availability depends on the app, device model and software version.
The instructions below follow the current guidance from Apple, Google Android Help and Samsung Support.

How to take a full-page screenshot on an iPhone
1. Capture the visible screen
- Open the webpage, message, document or other content you want to save.
- Quickly press and release the Side button and Volume Up together.
- On an iPhone with a Home button, quickly press and release Home and Side together.
A screenshot thumbnail may appear in the lower-left corner. Tap it before it disappears to open the editing view.
2. Choose Full Page
- Tap Full Page at the top of the screenshot editor.
- Use the preview or the scroll handle to inspect sections farther down the page.
- Drag the crop controls if you want to keep only part of the page.
- Use the available save controls to store the result in your Photos library.
Apple documents content beyond the screen and uses an entire Safari webpage as its example. If Full Page does not appear, the current app or screen may not expose a full-page capture option; try the same steps in Safari or check the app’s own documentation.

How to take a scrolling screenshot on Android
Android 12 and newer
- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Press Power and Volume Down at the same time.
- When the screenshot toolbar appears, tap Capture more at the bottom.
- Move the crop guidelines to include as much of the scrollable content as you need.
- Save the result from the screenshot controls.
Google’s exact wording is important: “These steps work on devices running Android 12 and up on most screens that allow you to scroll.” A scrollable screen is not a guarantee that every app will offer the button. Android directs users to their phone manufacturer when the key combination differs.
Find the saved image
On current Android devices, open Photos > Collections > On this device > Screenshots. On older devices without Google Photos, look in Gallery > Album view > Screenshots.
If Capture more is missing
- Confirm the phone runs Android 12 or later.
- Make sure the page or panel can actually scroll.
- Try the manufacturer’s screenshot gesture or buttons instead of assuming every Android phone uses the same shortcut.
- Check the phone maker’s support instructions for your exact model and software build.
How to use Scroll capture on a Samsung Galaxy
Extend the initial screenshot
- Display the content you want to save.
- Press Power/Side and Volume Down together.
- Tap the Scroll capture icon, shown as two downward arrows, in the screenshot toolbar.
- Continue tapping or holding the control until the capture reaches the required section.
- Save the completed image.
Samsung says the exact function can differ by phone or tablet model. Carrier settings, software version and the individual app can affect whether the icon appears. Some screens, including certain privacy- or security-protected screens, block screenshots altogether. Secure Folder availability can also vary.

Locate the capture
Open Gallery > Albums > Screenshots. If it is not there, check My Files > Images.

Identify whether the limitation is the app or the phone
Take a normal screenshot in the same place. If the screenshot toolbar has no full-page control, test a clearly scrollable webpage in the phone’s browser. A control that appears in the browser but not in the original app indicates an app-level limitation. If it is absent everywhere, verify the operating-system version and consult the manufacturer.
Protected and restricted content
Banking apps, password managers, streaming services and other protected screens may intentionally prevent screenshots. A blank result or blocked capture in those contexts is a security behavior, not necessarily a hardware fault. Do not try to bypass an app’s privacy controls.

Very long pages
Extended captures can produce a tall image that is awkward to view or share. Crop to the relevant section before saving, or split a long document into several focused captures. Keep the original only when you need a complete record.
Save, check and share the result
- Inspect the joins. Scroll through the saved image and look for missing sections, duplicated content or an abrupt stopping point.
- Check readability. Text that is legible on the phone may be tiny when the entire page is displayed at once. Crop before sending it to someone who must read it.
- Remove private information. Use the editor to crop or mark out account numbers, addresses, notifications and other sensitive details.
- Choose the right destination. Photos, Gallery and Files apps may offer different sharing options. Send a cropped image for a quick reference and the full capture only when context matters.
Troubleshooting checklist
The button never appears
- On iPhone, the current app may not support Full Page; test the same content in Safari.
- On Android, confirm Android 12 or newer and that the screen scrolls. Google describes support as “most screens,” not all screens.
- On Galaxy devices, look for the two-arrow Scroll capture icon and check model-specific settings.
The screenshot stops too early
- Move the capture boundary farther down before saving.
- Keep the content stationary while the phone builds the extended image.
- If the app has an internal reader, carousel or nested panel, capture that panel separately; the system may only follow the page region it recognizes as scrollable.
The result is blank or blocked
Protected content can disable screenshots. Try a non-sensitive test page to separate a security restriction from a general screenshot problem. If ordinary pages also fail, restart the app and check for system or manufacturer updates.
The shortcut does something else
Button combinations and gesture settings differ by manufacturer. Use the support page for the exact phone model rather than repeatedly pressing keys that may trigger power, accessibility or assistant controls.

No. iPhone, Android and Samsung all limit availability by app, device, software or security policy. A screen can scroll and still omit or block the extended-capture control.
