A full-page scrolling screenshot captures content below the visible screen instead of only the current viewport. Use the built-in command for your device or browser: choose Full Page on iPhone, Capture more on Android 12 or later, Capture full page in Microsoft Edge, or Save full page in desktop Firefox. Some routes create an image, while Firefox for iOS saves a PDF.
Choose the right full-page method
Use the option already provided by your operating system or browser. The result depends on the platform and app:

There is no universal shortcut. A page may also contain a scrollable panel inside the page; built-in full-page tools generally target the webpage or screen that the platform exposes, not necessarily every nested panel.
iPhone: capture an entire webpage in Safari
- Open the webpage in Safari and scroll or wait until the content you need has loaded.
- Take a normal screenshot with your iPhone’s screenshot buttons.
- Tap the screenshot preview that appears.
- At the top of the preview, tap Full Page.
- Review the long capture. Use the crop controls if you want only part of the page.
- Use the available save or share controls to send or store it. The exact destinations can vary with your iOS version and installed apps.
The alternative view in the preview is the visible-screen screenshot. Select Full Page when you need content below the viewport. Apple’s documented flow supports an entire Safari webpage and lets you crop the result before saving or sharing.

If Full Page is missing
- Confirm that you opened the page in Safari rather than an app’s embedded browser.
- Make sure you tapped the screenshot preview before it disappears.
- Try the page itself rather than an embedded or independently scrolling region.
- Install the current iOS update and check Apple’s current screenshot instructions if labels differ.
Android 12 and later: use Capture more
- Open the scrollable page or screen.
- Press Power + Volume Down at the same time.
- In the screenshot controls, tap Capture more.
- Drag the crop guides to include the content you want.
- Save or share the resulting extended screenshot.
Google describes this feature as working on most screens that allow scrolling. Android manufacturers can change the buttons, editor, or availability, so the absence of Capture more does not necessarily indicate a fault. It may be unavailable for that app, screen, or device software.
When Android will not offer Capture more
- The screen is not recognized as scrollable.
- The app blocks the system screenshot function.
- You are capturing a nested panel, dialog, or other region the device cannot extend.
- Your phone is running an older Android release or a manufacturer-specific implementation.
In these cases, check the phone maker’s support instructions for your exact model. Do not assume that an extension or a second screenshot app can capture protected content; apps may intentionally prevent screenshots.
Microsoft Edge on desktop
- Open the webpage in Microsoft Edge.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S to open the Screenshot tool.
- Select Capture full page.
- Inspect the capture and use Edge’s markup tools if annotations are needed.
- Copy or save the result using the controls in the tool.
Edge’s full-page mode includes content below the visible screen. Let images and interactive sections finish loading before you capture; otherwise the saved page can reflect the loading state that Edge saw.

Edge troubleshooting
- Only the viewport appears: reopen Screenshot and choose Capture full page, not a selected-area mode.
- Content is cut off: wait for expandable sections or lazy-loaded images, then capture again.
- The page is blank or incomplete: reload, sign in if required, and check whether a script or permission blocks the content.
Firefox on desktop
- Open the webpage in Firefox.
- Open Firefox’s screenshot tool from the page context or browser controls.
- Select Save full page.
- Review the generated image, then save or copy it.
Firefox documents Save full page for webpage capture. If a page changes while Firefox is assembling the image, repeat the capture after it reaches a stable state.
Firefox for iOS: full page as a PDF
- Open the page in Firefox for iOS.
- Take a normal iPhone screenshot.
- Tap the screenshot preview and choose Full Page.
- Tap Done.
- Choose Save as PDF and select a destination.
This route produces a PDF rather than a conventional PNG or JPEG. Use it when searchable or document-style archiving matters more than an image file.
Image or PDF: which should you use?
Choose an image when
- You need to paste the page into a design, issue, presentation, or chat.
- Visual fidelity and one continuous canvas matter.
- The recipient expects PNG, JPEG, or another image format.
Choose a PDF when
- You are archiving a document for reading or printing.
- Page boundaries and a document workflow are more useful than one tall image.
- Your browser’s supported full-page route outputs PDF, as Firefox for iOS does.
For either format, verify that cookie notices, sticky headers, lazy images, and expanded menus appear as intended. A full-page capture records what the browser rendered; it does not automatically reconstruct content that never loaded.

Troubleshooting full-page captures
Sticky headers appear on every section
A browser may repeat fixed navigation while stitching. If the result is unreadable, collapse the header when possible, use a browser’s markup or crop tools, or capture the page through an API that can hide selectors.

Lazy-loaded images are missing
Scroll through the page once to trigger loading, wait for the network to settle, and capture again. An API with a full-page option that loads lazy images can be more consistent for automated jobs.

The capture stops early
Check whether the page uses an inner scroll container instead of the document. Built-in tools may capture only the recognized scrollable surface. For a specific panel, use a selector-based capture route or save several targeted images.
A login, consent dialog, or bot check blocks the page
Complete the legitimate sign-in or consent step in the browser before capturing. Do not attempt to bypass access controls. For automated captures, supply authorized cookies or headers and inspect the service’s page-verdict result.

The output is too large to share
Crop to the relevant section, choose a PDF when a document is sufficient, or resize the image after capture. A single tall image can be difficult for chat, email, and image viewers even when the capture itself is correct.

- Wait for text, images, and expandable content to load.
- Use the platform label: Full Page, Capture more, Capture full page, or Save full page.
- Confirm whether your route creates an image or PDF.
- Check the top, bottom, and any nested scrolling regions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I capture a full page from every app?
No. Availability depends on whether the operating system or browser recognizes the current screen as scrollable and whether the app permits screenshots.
Will a full-page screenshot include content I have not loaded?
Only content rendered during capture is included. Lazy images, expandable sections, and network-fetched data may need time or interaction before you capture.
Is a PDF the same as a scrolling screenshot?
It preserves the page as a document rather than one tall image. Firefox for iOS’s documented full-page route saves a PDF.
