On a Google Pixel, open the webpage, press Power + Volume down together, then tap Capture more to extend the image down a scrollable page. The normal shortcut works for a still image; scrolling capture requires Android 12 or newer on most screens that allow scrolling.
How do I screenshot a website on my Pixel?
Use the physical-button shortcut:
- Open the website in your browser and position the page where you want the capture to begin.
- Press the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time.
- Release both buttons. Pixel displays a preview and screenshot controls.
- For a normal screenshot, tap the preview or leave it to save automatically. For a long page, tap Capture more and continue with the steps below.
Google describes this as taking a picture of your Pixel phone or tablet’s screen. The shortcut captures what is visible, including the browser’s current scroll position.
How to take a full-page screenshot on a Pixel
A full-page, or scrolling, screenshot joins more of a webpage into one tall image instead of limiting the result to the visible screen.
- Load the page completely, then scroll to the point where the capture should start.
- Press Power + Volume down.
- Tap Capture more in the controls beneath the first screenshot.
- Drag the crop guides or handles downward until the selection includes the content you need.
- Use the on-screen save or confirm control to keep the selected area.
Google says scrolling screenshots work on Android 12 and up on most screens that allow scrolling. The control is therefore not guaranteed on every browser page, app, dialog, or embedded view. If Capture more is absent, keep the ordinary screenshot and use the troubleshooting section below.

Use Google Assistant for a voice screenshot
Say “Hey Google, take a screenshot.” Assistant captures the current screen. This is useful when pressing two buttons is inconvenient, but it still captures a still image rather than a video or an automatically assembled webpage document.

Gesture navigation
- Swipe up from the bottom edge and hold to open the recent-apps view.
- Select the browser or app containing the website.
- Tap Screenshot.
Three-button navigation
- Tap Overview.
- Choose the open browser or app.
- Tap Screenshot.
Two-button navigation on Pixel 3a and earlier
Press the Power button, then tap Screenshot. This path is for the two-button navigation arrangement documented for those older Pixels.
Quick Tap on Pixel 4a (5G) and later
- Open Settings > System > Gestures > Quick tap.
- Turn on Use Quick tap.
- Choose the screenshot action.
- Double-tap the back of the phone whenever you want to capture the current screen.
Quick Tap is practical when the Pixel is on a tripod, attached to a car mount, or being used with one hand.

Where Pixel saves website screenshots
- Open Google Photos.
- Tap Collections.
- Choose On this device.
- Open the Screenshots folder.
Tap a screenshot to open it. From there, Share sends it to another app or person, while Edit lets you crop, mark up, or adjust the image. The preview shown immediately after capture also provides a quick route to editing and sharing.

When a screenshot is not the right tool
A screenshot is a still image. If you need movement, sound, one app’s activity, or the entire display as video, use Android’s screen recorder instead:
- Swipe down twice from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings.
- Tap Screen record.
- Choose whether to record a single app or the entire screen and select the available audio option.
- Start recording, then stop it from the recording notification or Quick Settings when finished.
Choose a screenshot for a citation, visual reference, or single webpage state; choose screen recording when timing, animation, or audio matters.
Troubleshoot Pixel website screenshots
“Capture more” does not appear
- Confirm the Pixel runs Android 12 or newer; that is Google’s stated requirement for scrolling screenshots.
- Check that the page or app can actually scroll. Google qualifies the feature as working on most screens that allow scrolling, not every screen.
- Take a regular screenshot first. A page with a fixed reader, a custom embedded view, or a non-scrollable dialog may expose no additional capture area.
- Try the browser’s normal page view rather than a reader overlay or another embedded panel.
The screenshot starts at the wrong place
Scroll to the desired starting position before pressing Power + Volume down. The scrolling tool extends from the captured screen and lets you adjust the crop guides afterward; it does not automatically understand which article section you intended.
The buttons are difficult to press together
Use Assistant, the recent-apps Screenshot action, or Quick Tap where supported. Navigation mode determines whether the recent-apps route uses gesture or three-button labels.
The labels look different
Pixel menus can vary slightly with Android version, navigation mode, language, and device form factor. Look for the equivalent Screenshot, Capture more, Overview, or Quick tap action rather than relying on an exact visual arrangement.

You cannot find the saved file
Use Google Photos > Collections > On this device > Screenshots. Opening the screenshot from the post-capture preview and sharing it immediately can also avoid losing track of the folder.

Practical choice: which Pixel method should you use?
- Choose Power + Volume down for the fastest occasional still image.
- Choose Capture more after that shortcut when the webpage is scrollable and you need one tall image.
- Choose Assistant or Quick Tap when physical buttons are inconvenient.

Does Android 12+ apply to every Pixel screenshot?
No. Android 12 and newer is the stated requirement for the scrolling-screenshot workflow on most scrollable screens. The ordinary Power-and-Volume-down screenshot is a separate, basic capture action.
