To save an entire webpage, including content below the fold, use Edge’s built-in Screenshot tool and choose the full-page option. To capture everything currently visible on your monitor—including the browser frame, taskbar and other windows—use Windows Snipping Tool in Full screen mode or press Print Screen.
Choose the capture scope first
| What you need | Best method | What is included |
|---|---|---|
| Entire webpage, including content below the fold | Edge Screenshot → full-page capture | The page as a long image, including sections that require scrolling |
| Everything visible on one monitor | Windows Snipping Tool → Full screen | Browser chrome, taskbar and other visible desktop areas |
| Only the current Edge window | Snipping Tool → Window | The selected Edge window without unrelated desktop areas |
| Fast clipboard copy of the whole display | Print Screen (PrtSc) | A static image of the entire display copied to the clipboard |
These are different scopes. A full-page webpage image may be much taller than your monitor, while a full-screen display capture records only what is visible at that moment.
Capture an entire webpage in Edge
Use the context menu
- Open the webpage in Microsoft Edge and wait for the content you need to load.
- Right-click an empty area of the page.
- Select Screenshot.
- In the Screenshot overlay, choose the full-page capture option rather than a selected area. Edge will capture content below the visible viewport, including sections that normally require scrolling.
- Use the pen or touch controls if you need to mark up the image.
- Select Copy to place the result on the clipboard, or choose Save to write it to a file.
Open Screenshot with the keyboard
Press Ctrl+Shift+S to open Edge Screenshot directly. Choose the full-page option, annotate if required, then copy or save the result. This is useful when a site disables or changes its own right-click behavior.
Open it from Edge Settings
Edge also lists Screenshot as an entry point in its Settings interface. The exact location and label can vary by release, so if you do not see it there, use the right-click menu or Ctrl+Shift+S.
#1 Best Overall
- CRISP CLARITY: This 23.8″ Philips V line monitor delivers crisp Full HD 1920x1080 visuals. Enjoy movies, shows and videos with remarkable detail
- INCREDIBLE CONTRAST: The VA panel produces brighter whites and deeper blacks. You get true-to-life images and more gradients with 16.7 million colors
- THE PERFECT VIEW: The 178/178 degree extra wide viewing angle prevents the shifting of colors when viewed from an offset angle, so you always get consistent colors
- WORK SEAMLESSLY: This sleek monitor is virtually bezel-free on three sides, so the screen looks even bigger for the viewer. This minimalistic design also allows for seamless multi-monitor setups that enhance your workflow and boost productivity
- A BETTER READING EXPERIENCE: For busy office workers, EasyRead mode provides a more paper-like experience for when viewing lengthy documents
What the full-page result contains
The output is one image representing the webpage beyond the visible viewport. It is suited to long articles, documentation, receipts and pages where scrolling would otherwise be necessary. It is not a picture of your taskbar or other windows. Fixed headers, animations and lazy-loaded content can render differently from a single viewport; review the saved image before sharing it.
Capture the entire monitor with Windows Snipping Tool
Full-screen mode
- Press Windows logo key+Shift+S, or open Snipping Tool from the Start menu.
- Choose Full screen. Microsoft defines this mode as capturing the entire screen.
- After the capture opens in Snipping Tool, use its editing controls if needed.
- Save the image. Current Windows instructions describe automatic saving to the Screenshots folder and also provide Save as for a different folder or filename.
Snipping Tool supports annotation actions such as a pen, highlighter, shapes, text and cropping. It captures the monitor state, so browser tabs, address bars, taskbars and any other visible desktop elements appear in the result.
Use Print Screen for a clipboard-only workflow
Press Print Screen (PrtSc) to copy a static image of the entire display to the clipboard. Paste it into an editor, email or document, then save it there. This is the quickest option when you do not need Snipping Tool’s editing interface.

Capture only the Edge window
If you want the browser frame but not the rest of the desktop, open Snipping Tool with Windows+Shift+S and select the Window mode. Select the Edge window. This avoids including other monitors, the taskbar or unrelated applications while retaining the visible browser chrome.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsSave, edit and share the capture
- Edge Screenshot: copy the image to the clipboard or save it from the overlay; pen and touch markup are available before you finish.
- Snipping Tool: annotate, crop and edit in the app, then save or share. Automatic saving may place captures in the Screenshots folder; use Save as when you need a named location.
- Print Screen: paste the clipboard image into the destination application before closing or replacing it, because the clipboard is temporary.
For a long webpage, use a descriptive filename such as project-documentation-full-page.png. For evidence of what was visible on a monitor, include the date or window name in the filename so the scope is clear later.
Troubleshooting Edge and Windows captures
Screenshot is missing from the right-click menu
Feature availability and functionality can vary by device type, market and browser version. Try Ctrl+Shift+S, look for Screenshot through Edge Settings, or use Windows Snipping Tool. Updating Edge may change labels, but the Windows fallback does not depend on Edge’s webpage tool.

Ctrl+Shift+S does nothing
Another application or an enterprise policy may be intercepting the shortcut, or your Edge build may expose a different command. Open Snipping Tool with Windows+Shift+S for a monitor capture. For a webpage capture, try the page’s context menu and Settings entry.
The result is only the visible portion of the page
In Edge Screenshot, select full page, not a selected-area capture. A selected area records only the region you drag over. If the page changes while Edge is assembling a long image, wait for loading to finish and repeat the capture.

Dynamic pages, delayed network requests, lazy-loaded images, animations and content that appears only after interaction can affect a long capture. Scroll through the page once to trigger deferred sections, stop video or animation where possible, then run the full-page capture again. If a section requires a login or permission, confirm that it is visible in the same Edge session before capturing.

- INCREASED VERSATILITY: Connect to more; Plug devices straight into your monitor for increased flexibility, making your computing environment even more convenient
The capture has the wrong scope
Check whether you used Edge Screenshot (webpage only), Snipping Tool Full screen (entire monitor), Snipping Tool Window (one window) or Print Screen (entire display to clipboard). Repeating the same command will not change the scope; choose the tool that matches the intended result.
Saving does not use the folder you expected
Snipping Tool may automatically save to the Screenshots folder. Use Save as to select another location and filename. Edge Screenshot requires you to choose its save action, so verify that the file dialog completed before closing the overlay.
Automate a clean webpage screenshot instead
If you need repeatable captures for documentation, monitoring, reports or an application, a screenshot API avoids driving a desktop browser manually. ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. It accepts one GET request and returns PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF. It is the first service to try because it removes cookie-consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture, bills only clean shots, and has a $5 paid plan for 3,000 shots.
Or skip the browser setup
Use the API endpoint documented at https://screenshotneo.com/docs/. Replace the example URL with the page you need.

ScreenshotNeo can capture a full page, a CSS-selected element or HTML/CSS, and supports dark mode, device presets, custom viewports, retina scale, PDF paper settings, custom JavaScript and CSS, clicks, waits, hidden selectors, ad and tracker blocking, headers, cookies, user agents, authorization, timezone, geolocation, transparency, resizing, chosen cache TTLs, signed image links, asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks, bulk capture of up to 100 URLs per call, usage reporting and an OpenAPI specification. Parameter names used by other screenshot APIs also work, which can simplify migration.
Its response identifies the page verdict and whether it was billed with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed. An MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients, allowing an AI agent to request captures directly.
Plans and practical limits
| Plan | Allowance and price |
|---|---|
| Free | 1,000 shots per month; no card required |
| Starter | $5 for 3,000 shots |
| Growth | $15 for 15,000 shots |
| Pro | $39 for 60,000 shots |
| Scale | $99 for 250,000 shots |
| Business | $249 for 1,000,000 shots |
Every feature is included on every plan, and yearly billing gives two months free. For a one-off manual capture, Edge or Snipping Tool is simpler. For scheduled or high-volume work, the API’s waiting, blocking, caching and asynchronous options reduce browser setup and make failures visible in response headers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Edge save a full webpage as a PDF instead of an image?
The built-in Screenshot workflow described here outputs a shareable image. Use Edge’s normal print dialog when your deliverable must be a PDF, or use ScreenshotNeo’s PDF capture for an automated request.
Will a full-page capture include content behind a cookie banner?
Edge captures what the webpage presents in your session. If a consent dialog obscures content, accept or dismiss it first, then repeat the capture.
Can I capture two monitors at once with Snipping Tool?
Full screen captures the display selected by Windows’ capture environment. If you need a specific monitor or arrangement, verify the preview and use a window or rectangular capture as appropriate.
