Its terms prohibit automated access, copying, downloading and similar activity without that permission. The dependable route is to (1) identify prospects from lawful public business sources, (2) contact each prospective partner directly, and (3) use the Booking.com Demand API after managed-affiliate approval. Property-management software vendors need the separate Connectivity APIs and the accommodation partner’s permission.
First define what “Booking.com partner” means
The right discovery and automation method depends on the relationship you want. A travel publisher, an affiliate website, a property-management system (PMS), a channel manager and a hotel-tech vendor do not receive the same data or credentials.
Affiliate or travel-publishing partner
An affiliate publisher sends travelers to Booking.com or presents eligible travel inventory. Booking.com describes its Demand API as giving Affiliate Partners access to travel inventory, including accommodations, car rentals and flights. Access is controlled through the managed Affiliate Partner Programme and Partner Centre.
Accommodation partner
This is the hotel, apartment, host or other accommodation business whose property is listed on Booking.com. If you want to manage availability, rates, reservations or other operational data, you need the property’s permission and the appropriate Connectivity API scope. An affiliate token is not a substitute for that authorization.
#1 Best Overall
Connectivity or technology partner
A PMS, channel manager or hotel-technology provider connects its software to accommodation operations. Booking.com’s Connections API guidance says you must obtain the partner’s permission before managing an accommodation unit through its APIs. The public connectivity portal currently says onboarding new connectivity providers is paused, so confirm the current status before promising an integration.
Can you scrape Booking.com for partner leads?
Not without written authorization. Booking.com’s terms state: “Whether or not you have a commercial purpose, you’re not allowed to access, monitor, copy, scrape/crawl, download, reproduce or otherwise use anything on our Platform using any robot, spider, scraper, other automated means, or automated assistants … without the prior, express written permission of Booking.com.”
That wording covers automated browser scripts, HTML scrapers, headless Chrome jobs, data-extraction services and AI agents that navigate the platform. A public page is not automatically a permission to harvest it. It also means that rotating IP addresses, slowing requests or disguising a bot does not make an unauthorized workflow acceptable.
If you believe your use case is legitimate, request written permission that describes the pages, fields, frequency, retention period, users and redistribution model. Keep that approval with your compliance records. Until it exists, do not collect Booking.com page content or infer a partner list from it.

A lawful partner-discovery workflow
- Choose the relationship. Write down whether you need affiliate inventory, a property’s operational connection, or a commercial technology partnership. This determines the programme and data rights you will need.
- Build a prospect list outside the Booking.com platform. Use lawful public business sources such as a company’s own website, trade directories that permit business research, public corporate registries and conference exhibitor pages. Record the company name, website, country, business type, public contact channel and the reason it may fit your programme. Do not copy Booking.com descriptions, rates, availability, reviews or other platform content into this list.
- Separate prospecting data from platform data. Use separate tables, storage buckets or schemas for public-company research and any API responses. Give each dataset its own retention and sharing rules so that a later export cannot accidentally mix platform content with your sales leads.
- Contact the prospective partner. Explain what you want to exchange, who will access it, how long it will be retained and whether any data will be passed to another company. For a property-management connection, obtain explicit permission for the precise management actions your software will perform.
- Apply for the managed Affiliate Partner Programme when inventory is the goal. Obtain Partner Centre access, an affiliate ID and an API key token. Partner Centre access may need to be enabled by a Booking.com account manager.
- Implement the Demand API over HTTPS. Send the documented bearer token in the
Authorizationheader and your affiliate ID inX-Affiliate-Id. Keep both values outside source control, rotate them when staff or vendors change, and revoke them if they are exposed. - Review distribution rules before launch. Legacy usage rules prohibit using Booking.com content for price comparison and prohibit forwarding data to unaffiliated companies. Obtain a current interpretation for your exact product and geography before publishing, caching or redistributing results.
Demand API versus Connectivity APIs
| Decision point | Demand API | Connectivity APIs |
|---|---|---|
| Intended user | Managed affiliate, travel publisher or affiliate application | PMS, channel manager or other property-technology provider |
| Primary scope | Travel inventory such as accommodations, car rentals and flights | Operations for an accommodation unit |
| Authorization | Managed-affiliate onboarding, Partner Centre, affiliate ID and API token | Permission from each accommodation partner for the management scope |
| Onboarding availability | Documented through the Affiliate Partner process | Public portal currently reports that new connectivity-provider onboarding is paused |
| Redistribution | Subject to content, price-comparison and data-forwarding restrictions | Subject to the partner’s permission and the API agreement |
Do not select Connectivity APIs simply because you need hotel data. They are for authorized property operations, not a general-purpose replacement for affiliate inventory.

Automating an authorized Demand API client
Booking.com’s exact operation paths and request bodies are supplied after onboarding in Partner Centre documentation. Keep the endpoint in an environment variable rather than guessing a URL from examples found elsewhere. The following templates send the required authentication headers and are runnable once you set the endpoint and an operation-specific JSON body.
Environment setup
export DEMAND_API_URL='https://your-authorized-demand-operation.example'
export BOOKING_API_TOKEN='replace-with-your-api-token'
export BOOKING_AFFILIATE_ID='replace-with-your-affiliate-id'
The endpoint value above is an environment variable for the operation assigned to your account; use the exact HTTPS endpoint shown in your Partner Centre documentation.
cURL POST
curl --fail-with-body --request POST "$DEMAND_API_URL"
--header "Authorization: Bearer $BOOKING_API_TOKEN"
--header "X-Affiliate-Id: $BOOKING_AFFILIATE_ID"
--header "Content-Type: application/json"
--data '{}'
Replace the empty JSON object with the fields required by the specific Demand API operation you are approved to call. Do not put the token or affiliate ID in the command line history of a shared machine.

Production safeguards
- Load secrets from a secret manager or protected environment variables, never from a repository, browser bundle or support ticket.
- Log request IDs, status codes and timing, but redact authorization headers and personal data.
- Retry only transient failures with exponential backoff and a cap. Do not blindly retry validation errors or authorization failures.
- Cache only what your agreement permits. Attach an expiry time to every stored response and delete data when its permitted retention ends.
- Validate that a destination is an approved internal service before forwarding a response; legacy rules prohibit forwarding Booking.com data to unaffiliated companies.
Automating public prospect research without scraping Booking.com
You can automate your own prospecting pipeline without touching Booking.com pages. A typical job reads a list of company websites that you are allowed to research, fetches each site under its published access rules, extracts only the business fields you need, and sends a human-reviewed outreach queue. Keep the crawl rate low, identify your application, honor robots and terms where applicable, and provide a way to stop processing a domain.
Suggested record structure
- Identity: legal or trading name, official domain and country.
- Business fit: accommodation operator, PMS, channel manager, publisher or another category.
- Public contact: role-based email or contact form, source URL and collection date.
- Permission state: not contacted, contacted, consented, declined or needs review.
- Booking.com data: leave empty until you have an authorized API response and a documented purpose.
This design prevents a sales list from becoming an undisclosed mirror of Booking.com content. It also makes deletion requests and audits practical.
Or skip the browser setup
For lawful research on public company pages, ScreenshotNeo can return a screenshot or PDF through one HTTPS request instead of requiring you to operate a headless browser. Use it for pages you are permitted to capture; it is not permission to automate Booking.com or bypass its terms. Before capture, it accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets, with each step switchable. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed, and the response identifies the page verdict and billing status in headers.
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for the available options. A basic call is:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Python
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
Node.js
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
ScreenshotNeo also offers an MCP server with take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots, and every feature is available on every plan. Create a free ScreenshotNeo account to test the workflow.
Troubleshooting and failure handling
A scraper receives a 403 or a legal warning
Stop the job. A block is not an invitation to add proxies or CAPTCHA-solving. Remove Booking.com URLs from the automated workflow and request written permission if you need an authorized integration.
The Demand API returns 401 Unauthorized
Check that the bearer token is current, has no extra quotation marks or whitespace, and is sent in Authorization: Bearer .... Verify that the token belongs to the intended environment and has not been revoked.
The response is 403 Forbidden after authentication
Authentication succeeded, but your account may lack the operation or Partner Centre entitlement. Confirm that managed-affiliate onboarding is complete and ask your Booking.com account contact to enable the required access.
Rank #4
The response is 400 Bad Request
Use the exact operation schema from Partner Centre. Check required fields, date formats, identifiers and whether the request is sent as JSON rather than form data. Log the response body safely; it usually identifies the invalid field.
Requests time out or fail intermittently
Set a finite timeout, retry transient network and server errors with exponential backoff, and record a correlation ID. Do not duplicate a side effect unless the operation is documented as safe to retry. Queue work so a temporary outage does not trigger a scraping fallback.
A connectivity project cannot start
The public portal currently says new connectivity-provider onboarding is paused. Do not represent an application as accepted or promise a launch date. Contact Booking.com through the current partner channel and continue only when onboarding is available and the property permissions are documented.
A colleague asks for a price-comparison feed
Pause the design. Legacy usage rules prohibit using Booking.com content for price comparison. Obtain a current written interpretation for your use case or choose a data source whose licence permits that comparison.
Reliability, cost and compliance choices
Authorized API calls are more predictable than page scraping because the contract, credentials and response format are explicit. They still require quota planning, validation and monitoring. Keep prospecting jobs and API jobs in separate queues, use a dead-letter queue for records needing manual review, and alert on authentication failures rather than repeatedly retrying them.
Your main costs are the engineering time to obtain approval, secure credentials, review content rights and maintain the integration. There is no published adoption, revenue or conversion statistic that can reliably predict the commercial return, so model those outcomes from your own funnel instead of assuming a benchmark.
FAQ
Does having an affiliate ID guarantee approval for every API operation?
No. The affiliate ID and token identify an approved account, but available operations and content rights still depend on your managed-affiliate onboarding and the terms attached to your account.
Can I use one affiliate integration to manage a hotel’s inventory?
No. Property operations require the relevant Connectivity API access and permission from the accommodation partner for the actions your software will perform.

Can I promise a commission or acceptance to prospects?
No. Confirm programme terms, tracking arrangements and acceptance directly in Partner Centre before making a commercial promise.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do if a prospect asks me to copy its Booking.com listing?
Ask for a licensed, authorized data-exchange method and document the fields and purpose. Do not copy the listing through a scraper while approval is pending.
Is a public company website enough to prove that a business is a Booking.com partner?
No. It can support lawful prospect research, but partner status and API permissions must be confirmed by the business or Booking.com programme records.
Should I build a browser bot before applying for API access?
No. Define the use case and data fields first, then apply for the appropriate programme. A browser bot does not replace written permission or API credentials.
