Yes—you can automate website screenshots with Make. Build a scenario that receives a URL, calls a screenshot service, and sends the returned image or PDF to storage, email, OCR, a report, or another application. The most flexible design uses Make’s HTTP app; native integrations such as GetScreenshot and HTML to Image can reduce configuration.
Choose the right capture route
Your first decision is how Make will obtain the rendered page.
| Route | Best for | Capabilities documented by Make |
|---|---|---|
| GetScreenshot integration | Standard webpage or one specific element | Take Screenshot and Take Element Screenshot. The element action requires a CSS selector. Variants can capture and send the result by email. |
| HTML to Image API integration | URL captures, HTML/CSS rendering, image conversion, or PDF output | Capture Website Screenshot, Create a Screenshot of a URL, HTML/CSS to PNG, JPG, or WebP, and PDF generation from a URL or HTML/CSS. |
| Make HTTP app | Any compatible provider without a native Make app, including ScreenshotNeo | Make a request, download a file over HTTPS, and authentication through Basic Auth, API key, or OAuth 2.0. |
Compare providers on webpage versus element capture, HTML/CSS support, image formats and PDF output, authentication, downloadable-file handling, and destinations such as storage, email, OCR, or monitoring. The cited Make documentation does not establish universal price or latency differences, so validate those factors with the provider you select.
Design the scenario before building it
1. Select a trigger
Use the trigger that matches your workflow:
- Scheduler: capture a page every hour, day, or week for visual records.
- Webhook: let another system submit a URL when an event occurs.
- Database or spreadsheet event: capture each newly added URL or release record.
- Scenario input: define structured inputs and outputs when another scenario, API, AI agent, or MCP client will call this scenario.
At minimum, pass a URL. You may also pass a CSS selector, output format, filename, destination folder, and a correlation identifier. Store the source URL and capture timestamp with every result so later runs can be compared.
#1 Best Overall
- ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT DESIGN: The mobile standing desk promotes a healthier workstyle by allowing quick transitions between sitting and standing. The gas spring lift smoothly adjusts the height from 28.3in to 44in, supporting better posture and reducing neck and back strain during long working hours. This portable desk improves daily comfort and productivity across different environments.
- SUPERIOR STABILITY AND DURABILITY: The rolling desk adjustable height model stands out with its sturdy H shaped steel base and reinforced structure, providing stability even at maximum extension. The waterproof and scratch resistant MDF desktop ensures long lasting use, while the retractable keyboard tray and hook create organized storage for accessories. This unique design differentiates the desk from standard folding table or rolling podium options on the market.
- ERGONOMIC AND FUNCTIONAL DESIGN: The portable standing desk offers a spacious 25.6 x 17.7in surface to accommodate a laptop, monitor, or books. A dedicated slot holds phones and tablets, while the 23.6 x 11.8in keyboard tray supports a full size keyboard and mouse. The thoughtful structure allows the small standing desk to serve as a side table, study cart, or computer desk with keyboard tray in living rooms, bedrooms, and offices.
- EASY MOBILITY WITH LOCKABLE WHEELS: The adjustable rolling desk includes four caster wheels that allow smooth movement between rooms. The lockable function secures the desk in place when needed, creating flexibility for use as a rolling laptop desk, classroom furniture, or teacher standing desk. The compact rolling table design makes the desk on wheels easy to move, while maintaining stability during presentations or study sessions.
- EASY OPERATION AND LOW MAINTENANCE: The sit stand desk is operated with a simple hand lever that activates the gas spring for smooth upward adjustment, while gentle pressure lowers the surface. The mobile desk workstation requires minimal maintenance, as the MDF board is waterproof, scratch resistant, and easy to clean with a damp cloth. This reliable raising desk minimizes user effort and ensures long term durability without complex upkeep.
2. Capture the page
Choose GetScreenshot for a straightforward page or element capture, HTML to Image when you need HTML/CSS conversion or PDF, or HTTP when you need provider-specific controls. For an element capture, the selector must identify the element in the rendered document, such as .price-card or #invoice.
3. Handle the returned file
Map the binary output into cloud storage, an email attachment, an OCR module, a report, or a monitoring record. Make’s HTTP app includes a download-a-file operation, while the HTML/CSS to Image documentation describes using captured content in a Google Cloud Vision OCR workflow.
4. Decide whether the scenario should expose an API
If other applications must request captures, publish the scenario with defined inputs and outputs. Make’s API reference supports running an active scenario with required inputs and returning its outputs. Return the file or a durable storage URL together with the original URL, format, and timestamp.
Build a native GetScreenshot scenario
- Create a new scenario in Make and add your chosen trigger.
- Add the GetScreenshot module and select Take Screenshot for a full webpage, or Take Element Screenshot when you have a CSS selector.
- Map the trigger’s URL into the webpage URL field. For the element action, map or enter the selector in its element-selector field.
- Add a destination module, such as cloud storage or email, and map the screenshot binary into its file field. Use the filename field to include a page identifier and capture date.
- Run once with a known public page. Inspect the output bundle and confirm that the image opens before turning on scheduling.
- Set the schedule and enable error handling. A failed capture should be recorded with its URL and error text rather than silently producing an empty file.
GetScreenshot also lists actions that capture and send a result by email. That is useful when the screenshot itself is the notification, but storage-first designs are easier to search and compare later.

Build an HTML to Image scenario
- Add the HTML to Image module after your trigger.
- Choose Capture Website Screenshot or Create a Screenshot of a URL for a web address.
- Choose the desired image format—PNG, JPG, or WebP—or choose PDF when the output is a document.
- For generated content, provide the HTML and CSS instead of a URL, then map the returned file to storage, email, OCR, or a report.
- Test both the visual result and the file type. A successful Make operation can still be unsuitable if a downstream module expects an image but receives a PDF.
This route is appropriate when the workflow needs rendered HTML/CSS rather than only a browser view, or when PDF generation is a first-class requirement.
Use Make’s HTTP app with a screenshot API
HTTP is the fallback when no native integration exposes the option you need. Make states that its HTTP app connects to API services and applications without a Make integration.

- Add HTTP > Make a request after the trigger.
- Set the method and HTTPS URL required by your provider. Map the incoming page URL as a query parameter or request body according to that API’s documentation.
- Configure authentication in Make’s dedicated Credentials field. The HTTP documentation supports Basic Auth, API key, and OAuth 2.0 and advises against manually putting credentials in headers or query parameters when the dedicated field is available.
- Set the response handling expected by the provider. If the API returns an image directly, pass the binary response to the next module. If it returns JSON containing a download URL, add an HTTP download step.
- In advanced settings, enable the option to return an error when a 4xx or 5xx response occurs if such a response should stop the scenario.
- Map the downloaded file to storage, email, OCR, or your reporting system. Save the source URL and timestamp as metadata.
Keep API keys in Make connections or credentials, not in a visible text field or a URL that may be logged. Use a dedicated connection for each environment if development and production have different access policies.

Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and whether the request was billed. The MCP server exposes take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.

Or skip the browser setup
Use one HTTP call from Make’s HTTP module—or from your own automation—to obtain a clean file:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Python:
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
Node.js:
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
Cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before the shot. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. An MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. You get 1,000 screenshots a month free with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Create a free ScreenshotNeo account.
Reliability and cost controls
Prevent duplicate work
Use a cache or a content hash when repeated captures are unnecessary. If your provider supports a caller-selected cache TTL, choose a period that matches the page’s update frequency. Keep the URL, options, timestamp, response status, verdict, and billed state in your record.
Control scenario operations
Put filters before expensive capture steps so malformed or duplicate URLs stop early. Batch only when the provider and downstream modules support it; otherwise, process one URL per iteration and handle each failure independently. A bulk endpoint such as ScreenshotNeo’s can accept up to 100 URLs per call, but your Make operation limits and file-storage limits still apply.

Protect downstream systems
Use descriptive filenames and avoid overwriting prior evidence unless replacement is intentional. Set a retention policy for large PNG or PDF files. When a webhook or API caller needs a result, return a stable storage link rather than a temporary binary that may expire.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Troubleshooting common failures
The module returns a 401 or 403
Check the Make connection, API key scope, and endpoint. Move credentials into the HTTP module’s dedicated authentication field. If the target page itself requires authentication, configure provider-supported cookies, headers, or Authorization rather than exposing them in a public scenario input.
The output is blank or an HTML error page
Inspect the raw response and status code before sending it to storage. The URL may redirect, require JavaScript, block automated traffic, or fail to load. Try a provider wait condition, a longer delay, a selector wait, or network-idle waiting. Do not treat a successful HTTP transport response as proof that the page rendered correctly.
An element screenshot cannot find the selector
Confirm the selector in the final rendered DOM, not only the initial HTML. Wait for the element or its parent, account for an iframe or shadow DOM, and verify that the selector is unique. If the element appears only after interaction, use a provider click action where available.
The file cannot be mapped to storage
Determine whether the capture module returned binary data or JSON containing a URL. For JSON, add an HTTP download step; for binary data, map the response body and provide a filename and MIME type expected by the destination.
The scenario stops on intermittent provider errors
Enable Make’s error-handling route, record the failed URL and response, and retry transient failures with a bounded schedule. Avoid unbounded retries that can multiply API usage. Re-run only the failed items by storing a status per input URL.

The screenshot differs from a human browser
Rendering can vary with viewport, device scale, timezone, geolocation, cookies, user agent, consent state, and page timing. Fix those options explicitly when visual comparisons matter, and retain them with the capture metadata.
Operational checklist
- Trigger supplies a validated HTTPS URL and a unique run identifier.
- Credentials are stored in Make connections, not plain-text fields.
- Capture format matches the destination module.
- Selectors and wait conditions are tested against the rendered page.
- 4xx and 5xx responses follow an explicit error route.
- Source URL, timestamp, options, status, and billing or verdict information are retained.
- Files have deterministic names and an appropriate retention policy.
- Retries are bounded and failed inputs can be replayed.
- Schedules respect provider and Make operation limits.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Make capture a page whenever a webhook arrives?
Yes. Use a webhook trigger, map its URL into a native capture module or HTTP request, then return or store the resulting file.
Do I need a browser running on my computer?
No. Native Make integrations and remote screenshot APIs render the page remotely; the HTTP app only needs the provider’s HTTPS endpoint and credentials.
Can one scenario create PDFs as well as images?
Yes. HTML to Image documents PDF generation from a URL or HTML/CSS, and ScreenshotNeo supports PDF output.
How should I capture only one component of a page?
Use GetScreenshot’s Take Element Screenshot or a provider option that accepts a CSS selector, then add a wait condition if the component is rendered asynchronously.
