To display an image you already have, add Bubble’s native Image element and set its source to the uploaded image or a dynamic image value. To capture a live webpage or a Bubble page or element, use a screenshot plugin or service that generates an image URL; save that URL if you need to reuse the screenshot, then bind it to an Image element.
Choose the right way to show the screenshot
The key distinction is whether the screenshot already exists or Bubble must create it. Bubble can display an existing image natively. It does not turn an arbitrary webpage URL into a screenshot by itself; that requires a capture tool.

Bubble’s visual-elements documentation describes an Image as displaying an uploaded static image or a dynamic image, and directs users to the “Dynamic image” box and “Insert dynamic data” for dynamic sources.
Display an existing or uploaded image
Bind a stored image to an Image element
- In Bubble’s editor, add an Image element to the page.
- Select the element and set its image source to Dynamic image.
- Choose Insert dynamic data, then select the image field or expression that resolves to the screenshot.
- Set the element’s run-mode rendering to Stretch or Rescale, depending on whether you want the image to fill its box or preserve its proportions.
The dynamic expression must resolve to an image value. If the screenshot is in a database field, make sure the field’s type is an image and that the page’s data context points to the intended record.

Save a user-uploaded screenshot
- Add Bubble’s Image uploader to the page. It previews a selected image and exposes a URL after upload.
- Create or select a data type with an image field for the screenshot, such as a screenshot record or the relevant user’s profile.
- Add a workflow triggered by the appropriate save action. Set the target record’s image field to the Image uploader’s value.
- Display the saved image by binding an Image element to that field.
Bubble stores a URL to a hosted file in a file or image field, rather than storing the file bytes in the database. See the Bubble Files documentation for the storage model.
Capture a webpage or Bubble element
A screenshot plugin is needed when the input is a live webpage URL, the current Bubble viewport, a full page, or a specific Bubble element. Before choosing one, verify that its capture target, output format, URL handling, database workflow, and privacy behavior match your app.
Screenshot Image Generator
The Bubble Plugin Marketplace listing, published in April 2025 and updated in March 2026, describes element, viewport, and full-page capture, PNG/JPEG/JPG/PDF output, compression, watermarks, and saving a screenshot URL to Bubble’s database. Its documented flow is to add the capture element, run the capture action, handle the screenshot_taken event, then run Upload Screenshot using the returned screenshot_url_return value. That sequence makes it a configurable option when you need capture plus a saved URL. Check the current listing and test the workflow in your own app before relying on it.
Advanced Screenshot Element
The listing documents capture of one element, the visible page, or the full page; JPG or PNG output; a URL uploaded to Bubble file storage; and downloading. At the time the listing was observed, it displayed either $8 one-time or $5 per month. Those are listing figures, not a guarantee of current pricing, so confirm the live Marketplace page before installing.

Crazy Screenshot by URL
This option is for taking a screenshot from a webpage URL. Its listing says the action returns a PNG file URL that can be saved in Bubble’s file manager. The listing displayed $10 per month and said callback functionality was available only on paid plans; both details can change, so verify them in the current listing.
Group to Image
For converting a Bubble group or element to PNG/JPEG, the documented setup requires enabling HTML ID attributes and assigning an ID to the target. Then run Generate Group-to-Image URL from GrouptoImage. The screenshot URL is exposed through an event or the element’s state. The listing claims proxy handling for images affected by CORS, but marketplace reviews report configuration, SVG, and rendering issues. Test the exact layout and browser combination you expect to support.
Compare plugins against your actual requirement
- Capture scope: Confirm whether you need an external URL, a viewport, a full page, or one element.
- Output: Check whether the plugin returns PNG, JPG/JPEG, PDF, or more than one format.
- Saving: Determine whether it returns a URL, uploads directly to Bubble storage, and provides an event or workflow value you can save.
- Privacy: Verify where generated files are hosted and whether you can protect them appropriately.
- Rendering and CORS: Test remote images, SVGs, fonts, and the target browser; support claims do not guarantee every page will render correctly.
- Commercial and support terms: Confirm current pricing, update activity, and support details on the Marketplace listing. Install counts, ratings, and browser behavior can change.
Keep screenshot files private when necessary
Bubble uploads are public by default: anyone with the file URL may be able to access the file. Hiding the URL field in the app is not the same as securing the underlying file. Bubble’s file documentation explains that uploaded files are public by default.
For sensitive screenshots, mark the uploader’s file as private, attach it to the correct database thing, and configure privacy rules that include View attached files. Confirm that users without permission cannot access the file, rather than assuming a hidden page element or concealed database field protects it.

The Image element is empty
- Check that the source is set to Dynamic image and that the expression resolves to an image value rather than an unrelated text field.
- Check that the current page or repeating-group cell has the expected record and that its image field is populated.
- If using an uploader, confirm the workflow saves the uploader’s value and runs for the intended record.
The image looks stretched or cropped
Change the Image element’s run-mode rendering between Stretch and Rescale. Use the option that matches whether filling the box or preserving the screenshot’s aspect ratio is more important for that layout.

The plugin returns no usable image
Check that the capture action completed and that the workflow handles the plugin’s documented event or returned URL/state. Confirm that the requested capture scope is supported and that the URL or target element is accessible. If remote assets or SVGs fail, test a representative page and browser; CORS proxy claims and plugin behavior should be verified against your exact content.
A supposedly private screenshot is accessible by URL
Bubble files are public by default. Mark sensitive uploads private, attach each file to the appropriate database thing, and configure View attached files in privacy rules. Test access as a user who should not be allowed to view the file.
Price or callback availability differs from an article or old listing
Marketplace pricing and plan features can change. Check the current listing before purchase, particularly for the Advanced Screenshot Element price and Crazy Screenshot by URL callback availability.
Plan for reliable display
Store a generated screenshot URL only after the capture workflow has produced a valid result. Keep the original webpage URL and any useful capture metadata with the record if users may need to regenerate or distinguish screenshots. Choose a capture scope and image size that suit the app’s actual display; full-page images can be much taller than the visible viewport. For paid plugins or services, confirm how failed captures are handled and billed in their current terms rather than assuming all failures are free.
