October 2024 brought new series and returning seasons to Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Max, Disney+, Apple TV+, Paramount+ and Peacock. This retrospective U.S. calendar focuses on series and docuseries whose first episode or new season arrived during the month; it excludes films and does not treat every title as a platform original. Dates below are premiere dates, not necessarily the day a full season became available.
Release schedules and rights varied by country. The calendar draws on contemporary listings from TV Guide, TVLine and Rotten Tomatoes. A service listing identifies where a U.S. viewer could stream a title; it does not by itself mean that service produced it.
October 2024 streaming TV calendar
The table is ordered by the first October date listed for each series or season. “Full season” means the season was released at once; “weekly” means episodes followed the premiere on a schedule. Where the release pattern is not established in the cited October listings, it is identified as not stated rather than inferred.

Notable October picks by service
Netflix
Netflix had returning seasons of Heartstopper and The Diplomat, alongside the reality competition Love Is Blind, food documentary series Chef’s Table: Noodles, true-crime This Is the Zodiac Speaking and Australian drama Territory. The first three listed as full-season drops could be watched on a shorter subscription window than a weekly series, while Love Is Blind rolled out over time.
Prime Video
Prime Video’s October slate ranged from animated fantasy (The Legend of Vox Machina) to the Italian action series Citadel: Diana and the Japanese-language Like a Dragon: Yakuza. Faceoff: Inside the NHL added sports documentary programming. The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh was associated with both Prime Video and Freevee in October coverage; Freevee is ad-supported, while Prime Video access depends on the viewer’s Amazon arrangement.

Hulu
Hulu added the limited series Last Days of the Space Age and Spanish-language drama La Máquina, as well as Rivals. It also streamed new episodes of FX’s What We Do in the Shadows; the fact that an FX show is on Hulu does not make it a Hulu-produced original. For Hulu’s distinction between new programming and library additions, see TV Guide’s October Hulu schedule.
Max
Max’s series premieres included HBO comedy The Franchise and the third, final season of Somebody Somewhere. Both followed weekly schedules. The Velma Halloween special was separate programming, not another series launch.

Apple TV+
Apple TV+ launched the German-language mystery Where’s Wanda?, limited series Disclaimer, the second season of Shrinking and thriller Before. These were weekly releases, with Disclaimer beginning with two episodes rather than one.
Paramount+
Star Trek: Lower Decks began its fifth and final season on Oct. 24, and Lioness returned for Season 2 on Oct. 27. Both were weekly series, so a single-month subscription would not provide an entire season immediately.

Peacock
Peacock offered horror choices in Teacup and Hysteria!, plus the music docuseries Reggaeton: The Sound That Conquered the World. Teacup began with two episodes and continued weekly; Hysteria! was a full-season release.
Disney+
The October service roundups used here do not establish a qualifying U.S. Disney+ series premiere with a sufficiently clear date and rollout pattern to add to this calendar. The list therefore does not treat an announced Disney Channel broadcast date as interchangeable with a Disney+ streaming date.

Full-season drops versus weekly viewing
For a viewer deciding when to subscribe, the release pattern matters as much as the premiere date. A complete season can be watched in a concentrated period; weekly shows require waiting for later episodes if the aim is to finish the season as it airs.
| Release approach | October examples | Subscription-planning implication |
|---|---|---|
| Full season available at once | Heartstopper Season 3; The Diplomat Season 2; Hysteria!; Territory | Viewers can watch within a shorter window, subject to the service’s current access terms. |
| Weekly episodes | Love Is Blind Season 7; Disclaimer; Shrinking Season 2; Somebody Somewhere Season 3; Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 5; Lioness Season 2 | Watching every episode as it arrives means keeping access across multiple weeks. |
| Staggered or multi-episode launch | Teacup began with two episodes; Disclaimer began with two; Like a Dragon: Yakuza used two batches; The Legend of Vox Machina released episodes in batches | Check the service schedule if planning to wait for a larger batch or the complete season. |
Horror and Halloween-season series
- Teacup (Peacock, Oct. 10): a new horror series, with two episodes at launch and weekly installments after that.
- Hysteria! (Peacock, Oct. 18): a new horror-comedy released as a full season.
- Disclaimer (Apple TV+, Oct. 11): a psychological thriller rather than a straightforward horror series; it began with two episodes and continued weekly.
- Before (Apple TV+, Oct. 25): a psychological thriller released weekly.
- Velma: This Halloween Needs to Be More Special! (Max, Oct. 3): a Halloween special, not a season premiere.
What this calendar leaves out
- Movies: October guides also listed films such as Salem’s Lot, House of Spoils, Hold Your Breath and The Platform 2. They are not TV series and are excluded.
- Other services: This calendar uses an eight-service core: Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Max, Disney+, Apple TV+, Paramount+ and Peacock. AMC+, Starz, Roku Channel and other services are outside that scope, so this is not every U.S. streaming service.
- Specials and reunions: These are noted separately rather than counted as new series or seasons.
- Unconfirmed or conflicting entries: Aggregate schedules can mix a series premiere, a later episode batch and a network airing. Titles without a clearly supported U.S. streaming premiere date are not assigned a date here. A calendar date also may appear different across U.S. time zones when a service releases at a fixed time.
For broader service-by-service comparisons and contemporaneous cross-checks, see Boston.com’s October 2024 streaming overview and ClickOnDetroit’s October guide.
