Yes—you can assess both devices without already owning either one, but there is no verified universal loaner or combined free-trial program. Visit a Samsung Experience Store or participating retailer for a physical look and try-on, use Samsung’s purchase-linked Ring sizing kit for an extended fit check, and treat virtual or augmented-reality previews as appearance tools rather than comfort tests.
The fastest route: call a store before visiting
Samsung lists Experience Stores and retailers including Amazon, AT&T and Best Buy as sales channels for the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Ring, but sales inventory does not guarantee an open, charged or paired demo. Confirm the specific branch before traveling: Samsung’s U.S. availability announcement.
Ask whether the location has a Galaxy Watch Ultra display or working demo, which generation and model number it is, whether you can wear it with a standard band, and whether Ring samples are functional, inactive or merely sizing aids. Ask if the Watch is paired to a demonstration phone and whether staff can show Samsung Health. A staff-phone demonstration confirms that the store setup works, not that every feature will work with your phone or in your country.

How to try the Galaxy Watch Ultra in person
A physical try-on is the best way to judge the Ultra’s large case and premium-watch bulk. Wear it for several minutes with the band both snug and loose. Move your wrist, bend your hand, pull a sleeve over it and check whether the case feels top-heavy or catches on clothing.

- Check screen readability at the angle you normally use.
- Operate the buttons and crown or bezel controls.
- Check wrist clearance and whether the band sits comfortably without pinching.
- Compare it with a regular Galaxy Watch if the store has one.
- Ask whether the unit is the current generation, and record its model number and LTE or Bluetooth edition.
Do not assume a short fitting predicts overnight or workout comfort. A virtual preview can show approximate scale and color, but it cannot reproduce weight, pressure, strap feel or interference during sleep.
How to try the Galaxy Ring in person
Ring displays vary more than watch displays. A branch may have a functional demo, inactive samples, a sizing display, boxed stock or no samples. Confirm what you are being offered before treating it as a product test.
Try the intended finger, not merely whichever finger is convenient. Make a fist, rotate your hand, grip an object and rub the ring against clothing. Look for sensor pressure points, rotation, thickness, catching and interference with another ring. Test neighboring sizes if available; your usual ring size may not transfer because the Galaxy Ring has internal sensors.

Samsung’s sizing samples are electronically inoperable and intended only to determine size, as explained in its wearable announcement: Samsung Galaxy Ring, Watch7 and Watch Ultra details.
Use Samsung’s Ring sizing kit at home
If size and overnight comfort are your main concerns, the sizing kit provides stronger evidence than a 30-second store fitting. Samsung’s official U.S. process is:
- During a Galaxy Ring order, choose “No, I don’t know my size.”
- Complete checkout with the sizing kit added.
- Receive the kit before confirming the final Ring size.
- Try the sample rings and select the best-fitting finger and size.
- Wear the chosen sample for more than 24 hours, including while sleeping.
- If it is uncomfortable, test another size.
- Use Samsung’s follow-up link to return to the order and confirm your size.
Samsung’s U.S. support guidance lists sizes 5 through 15 and warns that an ordinary ring size may be wrong because of the internal sensors: Galaxy Ring sizing instructions. The kit is part of the purchase flow, not an unconditional, open-ended free smart-ring trial. Virtual try-on: useful for appearance only
Samsung has described an AR “Look” shopping experience that places Galaxy products such as watches on your body so you can compare appearance, color and approximate sizing: Samsung’s AR shopping explanation. Availability and labels in the Shop app can vary.
Do not use AR as proof of comfort if you have a small wrist, dislike pressure, need to sleep in the device or care about ring rotation. It cannot establish weight, case thickness in motion, strap pressure, sensor contact or sleeve clearance.

You can judge physical fit and appearance without owning a Galaxy phone. Software and health features are different. Samsung describes the wearable ecosystem around the Galaxy Wearable app, Samsung Health and a Samsung account: Samsung’s ecosystem overview.

- Ask to see on a live paired demo: pairing steps, Samsung Health screens, Ring and Watch data presentation, and any Galaxy AI or combined-device functions.
- Not established by a brief demonstration: sleep trends, charging routines, battery endurance, workout tracking over several days, skin irritation or the practical value of using both devices together.
Physical wearability does not guarantee that the same feature set will be available with an iPhone, a non-Galaxy Android phone or your regional account configuration. Verify compatibility before purchase.

Check the exact Watch Ultra model before comparing prices
By 2026, “Galaxy Watch Ultra” can refer to the original 2024 model or a refreshed listing. Confirm the model number, generation or refresh, LTE versus Bluetooth edition, included band and country SKU. Samsung’s March 2026 U.S. MSRP document lists Galaxy Watch Ultra LTE SKUs at $649.99 MSRP; that is not a sale, trade-in, financing or tax-inclusive price: Samsung Wearables MSRP PDF.
Avoid these common mistakes
- Assuming retail stock means a usable demo: call and ask for a charged, open wearable unit.
- Calling the sizing kit a free Ring trial: it is an inoperable sizing sample tied to the ordering process.
- Transferring your normal ring size: test the actual finger and account for the internal sensors.
- Testing the wrong generation: record the Watch model number before comparing reviews or prices.
- Treating a staff demonstration as compatibility proof: verify your own phone, account and region.
- Confusing a return policy with a trial: check the current regional terms; a return window is not a guaranteed weeks-long wear program.
- Expecting the Ring to replace the Watch: the Ring has no screen or on-wrist controls, while the Watch is more visible and interactive but may be less discreet for sleep.
The Bottom Line
For the Watch Ultra, arrange an in-store physical try-on and test the case, band, controls and sleeve clearance. For the Ring, use Samsung’s sizing kit and wear the sample for more than 24 hours, including sleep. Use AR only to judge appearance, and require a paired demonstration—not a dummy sample—before evaluating software. No available method replaces extended ownership for battery life, sleep comfort or the combined Watch-and-Ring experience.
