Y35 5G versus Y35 4G: they are not the same phone
Search results and retailer databases often merge the two models. The global and India-style Y35 is a 4G Snapdragon 680 phone, while the China Y35 5G uses Dimensity 700 hardware. Their key differences are substantial:

Check the official global Y35 page and India Y35 page when a listing advertises a 50MP camera, 44W charging, Snapdragon 680 or an FHD+ panel. Those are Y35 4G specifications, not the China Y35 5G specification documented by Vivo.

Dimensity 700 performance
The 7nm Dimensity 700 is an older entry-level 5G platform. It is appropriate for messaging, social networks, browsing, streaming and everyday multitasking, with casual or moderately demanding games generally requiring reduced settings. No benchmark result should be assumed without testing this exact model and software build.
HD+ 60Hz display
The 6.51-inch 1600 × 720 LCD prioritizes cost and power consumption over sharpness and smooth motion. It is materially lower-resolution and slower-refresh than the global Y35 4G’s 2408 × 1080 panel.

Battery and charging
The 5,000mAh battery is generous for this class, but the 15W FlashCharge system is modest by 2026 standards. Do not transfer the Y35 4G’s advertised 44W charging figure to this phone. Real battery life varies with signal strength, brightness, applications and network mode.
Cameras
The rear setup is a 13MP main camera plus a 2MP macro sensor, with a 5MP front camera. The macro unit is a basic close-up camera, not an ultrawide or telephoto lens. Buyers expecting the global model’s 50MP camera are looking at a different Y35.

Does the Vivo Y35 5G really support 5G?
Yes. Vivo lists both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G for V2230A, but a 5G logo does not guarantee service on every carrier.
- 5G SA bands: n1, n5, n8, n28A, n41, n77 and n78.
- 5G NSA bands: n41, n77 and n78.
Vivo notes that SA operation depends on network availability and software. LTE bands, carrier certification, VoLTE provisioning, local deployment and the exact regional firmware also determine whether calls and data work. Import checklist for buyers
- Confirm that the listing and box identify model V2230A, not an unspecified “Y35.”
- Compare the phone’s LTE and 5G bands with your carrier’s published bands.
- Ask the carrier or seller to confirm VoLTE and carrier certification for that model.
- Check how dual-SIM operation affects 5G and VoLTE on your intended network.
- Verify that the specific OriginOS build has the Google services, languages, notifications, payment apps and banking compatibility you need.
- Establish who provides warranty service outside China and how returns are handled.
- Ask how firmware updates are delivered to the imported regional model.
- Buy only with a meaningful return period, especially if the seller cannot demonstrate network and app compatibility.
Price and availability
Original China pricing
Vivo’s China page listed suggested all-network prices of ¥1,399 for 4GB/128GB, ¥1,599 for 6GB/128GB and ¥1,699 for 8GB/128GB. These are launch-market China prices, not current US prices or a universal international MSRP.
United States and other markets
As of August 18, 2026, the reviewed sources identify the phone primarily as a regional or import-market product. Gadgets 360 says it was released but not launched in India. A US launch, official US price or official US retail listing was not verified. That does not prove an imported handset can never operate in the US; it means compatibility and support must be established unit by unit.

Because the phone launched in 2022, current listings may be old stock, imported stock, refurbished units or used phones. Judge any asking price by condition, seller warranty and return policy rather than by the original ¥1,399–¥1,699 figures.
Software and support considerations
The China model ships with OriginOS Ocean based on Android 13, whereas the India Y35 4G page identifies Funtouch OS 12. China-market software can differ in app availability, language options, notifications, payments and update delivery. Ask the seller for the exact software build and confirm that essential services work before the return window closes. Should you buy the Vivo Y35 5G in 2026?
It can make sense when
- You need an inexpensive 5G handset and the exact model is confirmed.
- The imported price is substantially below newer locally supported phones.
- You accept a 60Hz HD+ screen, basic cameras and 15W charging.
- Your carrier confirms the bands, VoLTE and certification.
- OriginOS, Google-service availability, warranty and returns meet your requirements.
Look elsewhere when
- A seller advertises the phone without a model number or mixes in 50MP/44W specifications.
- You need guaranteed US carrier support, Google Wallet, Android Auto or banking-app compatibility.
- The price approaches a newer local 5G phone with faster charging, a higher-refresh display and longer remaining support.
- You expect the global Y35 4G’s FHD+ screen, 50MP camera or 44W charging.
The Y35 5G is a genuine 2022 China-market phone, not a current global Y35 variant. Its value in 2026 depends almost entirely on the actual seller price and whether its imported software and radio configuration fit your country.
