Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteVerdict: The Blackview A52 is acceptable only when it is exceptionally cheap, sold for use on a compatible European or Asian network, and expected to handle basic tasks. Its 5,180mAh battery, large screen, dual-SIM flexibility and microSD slot are useful, but the SC9863A1 processor, 2GB of physical RAM, limited LTE bands, old wireless standards, uncertain update support and weak charging behavior make it a poor primary phone in 2026. Blackview’s own listing says this version works only in Europe and Asia, so United States buyers should generally avoid it.

These specifications come from Blackview’s official product page. The standard A52 is different from the Samsung Galaxy A52, Oppo A52 and Blackview A52 Pro. Confirm the exact SKU before ordering because memory, storage, software and radio bands vary between listings.
Price, stock and version confusion
On August 18, 2026, Blackview’s global store showed the A52 at £83, reduced from £105, but marked it sold out and displayed the Europe-and-Asia restriction. A Blackview-branded reseller showed €49.99 reduced from €84.90 and was also out of stock. Those are seller- and region-specific observations, not a guaranteed current street price.
Listings advertising “2GB + 1GB” normally describe virtual or extended RAM: storage temporarily used as memory. It is not equivalent to 3GB of physical RAM. A separate listing shows a 3GB/32GB configuration, while other retailers show 2GB/64GB. Check the product label, model number, LTE bands, memory and return terms before paying. Do not confuse the standard phone with the separate Blackview A52 Pro, which has different hardware.

Performance: basic tasks only
The SC9863A1 and 2GB of physical RAM put the A52 firmly in the entry-level category. Calls, messaging, email, maps and occasional browsing should be possible, but the phone is not fast. Notebookcheck’s tested unit showed noticeable stuttering in ordinary use, apps that sometimes stopped or failed, weak graphics performance and temperatures of about 40.7°C in some tests. Its measured Wi-Fi throughput was around 40Mbit/s on the 2.4GHz connection.
What everyday use feels like
- Web browsing: usable for a few pages, but multiple tabs can trigger delays and reloads.
- Social apps: individual apps may work, though scrolling, launching and switching can be slow.
- Multitasking: the 2GB RAM ceiling causes frequent background-app reloads.
- Gaming: simple games are realistic; demanding 3D games are a poor match.
- Streaming: basic playback may work, but app compatibility and resolution are limited by the old hardware and missing Widevine L1 certification reported in testing.
Notebookcheck’s results describe its review sample and software, not a universal score for every regional A52. They do, however, show why Blackview’s “smooth” marketing language should not be read as modern-phone performance.
Battery and charging
The 5,180mAh cell is large for this class, but capacity alone does not guarantee long runtime. Blackview advertises laboratory figures of 5.5 hours of gaming, 7 hours of movies, 10 hours of web use, 24 hours of calls, 30 hours of music and 240 hours of standby. Those are manufacturer estimates under stated test conditions.

In Notebookcheck’s web-browsing script, the phone lasted 12 hours and 6 minutes. High-load testing consumed about 10% in 10 minutes. Charging took hours, and the reviewer sometimes saw the battery fall while the phone was switched on and connected to the supplied charger; charging improved after a restart or when powered off. Treat the battery as a useful capacity advantage, not proof of dependable all-day endurance or fast charging.
If charging is unreliable
- Try a known-good cable and compatible charger.
- Inspect and carefully clean the charging port.
- Restart the phone, then test charging again.
- Charge while powered off and compare the result.
- If the level still falls while plugged in, use the seller’s warranty or return process.
Display, design, sound and cameras
The 6.5-inch 720×1600 IPS display is spacious for maps, reading and video, but HD+ resolution is modest by current standards. Blackview lists 380cd/m² brightness and an 87.6% screen-to-body ratio. The conventional plastic body has a matte back and waterdrop notch; Notebookcheck measured approximately 183.6g and noted a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The mono speaker is small and was poor for music in independent testing. The 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras are best treated as tools for casual snapshots, document photos, video calls and social posts. The published material does not establish sensor quality, low-light performance, autofocus, stabilization or exact video modes, so megapixels should not be mistaken for camera quality.

Software, updates and owner support
Blackview lists Doke OS G0 V3.0 based on Android 12. Notebookcheck identified its sample as Android 12 Go and recorded September 2022 security patches during its testing period. That does not establish the phone’s patch level in 2026 or promise a future Android upgrade. The product page does not state a security-support duration.

- Understand that unofficial firmware can brick the phone or remove network functionality.
- Contact the seller first if the handset is under warranty.
Does the Blackview A52 work in the United States?
This is the most serious buying warning. Blackview’s product page says the listed A52 “can only work in Europe and Asia” and lists LTE bands B1, B3, B7, B8 and B20. Blackview’s US support site says its US store no longer sells products directly and directs Amazon buyers to their specific seller. A Kimovil frequency check also finds no matching 4G bands for AT&T for the global 2GB/32GB model, although that tool is not carrier certification.
“Unlocked” only describes a SIM restriction; it does not create missing radio bands or guarantee carrier approval. Voice service may additionally require carrier-approved VoLTE, and US 3G shutdowns remove an older fallback.
Check compatibility before buying an imported unit
- Get the exact model number, memory version and sales region.
- Compare its complete GSM, 3G and LTE bands with the intended carrier.
- Check whether that carrier permits uncertified imported devices and requires VoLTE.
- Use Blackview’s regional network checker as an additional reference.
- Confirm a meaningful return policy before inserting a SIM.
- Test calls, SMS, mobile data and VoLTE immediately after delivery.
Common problems and practical fixes
Wi-Fi works but mobile data does not
Unsupported bands, an incorrect APN, SIM provisioning, carrier restrictions or regional firmware can all cause this. Verify the variant, compare every LTE band, check the carrier database and APN, then test another working SIM. Return the phone if it cannot meet the carrier’s requirements.

Signal bars appear but calls fail
Bars show radio reception, not voice compatibility. A carrier may require VoLTE that the imported variant cannot provide.
Apps are slow or reload
Reduce background apps and unnecessary startup services, and consider lighter app versions. These steps cannot overcome the SC9863A1 and 2GB hardware ceiling.
Battery drains quickly
Brightness, weak signal, background activity, battery age and inefficient high-load operation all matter. A large nominal battery does not prevent short runtime.
microSD storage cannot move an app
The advertised 512GB maximum does not guarantee that every app can be installed or moved to the card. Android permissions, card formatting, app policy and firmware determine what works.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Who should buy the Blackview A52?
It can make sense for
- Calls, texts, email and light browsing.
- A backup or emergency handset.
- A child’s first phone when parental controls and network support are confirmed.
- Navigation and occasional media in a supported European or Asian market.
- A buyer who finds a genuinely low price and receives a real return window.
Choose something newer instead if you need
- A dependable primary phone for several years.
- Current security patches for banking or other sensitive apps.
- Smooth social-media multitasking or modern 3D gaming.
- Reliable HD streaming, NFC payments, 5G, 5GHz Wi-Fi or fast charging.
- Predictable US carrier service.
Final buying recommendation
In a supported European or Asian market, the A52 is a conditional bargain only when its price is exceptionally low and your expectations are limited to basic phone duties. Verify the exact memory and radio variant, seller reputation and return terms. In the United States, Blackview’s own region warning makes the standard imported A52 too risky for most buyers. As a long-term primary smartphone in 2026, its weak performance, uncertain updates, limited connectivity and charging concerns outweigh the large battery and low acquisition cost.
