TCL Australia lists reference RRPs of A$2,299 for 65 inches, A$2,999 for 75 inches and A$3,999 for 85 inches. Those are list prices, not proof of a current sale: 65C755, 75C755 and 85C755.
How to judge the discount
- Excellent: At or below the recent low for that exact size, with local warranty and straightforward returns.
- Good: Roughly 20–30% below local RRP when a newer equivalent is not similarly priced.
- Fair: A modest reduction, especially for old, open-box, carton-damaged or marketplace stock.
- Poor: Near RRP, missing warranty, unclear condition or only slightly cheaper than a current model.
These are practical buying rules, not TCL thresholds. Add delivery, installation, warranty and potential return costs before deciding.

What the TCL C755 is
The C755 is a regional 4K Google TV family combining a quantum-dot colour layer with Mini-LED full-array local dimming. TCL lists 50-, 55-, 65-, 75-, 85- and 98-inch versions on its global page, but explicitly warns that features and specifications vary by size and region: TCL Global C755.
- 4K UHD resolution: 3840 × 2160.
- Quantum-dot/QLED colour with Mini-LED backlighting.
- Full-array local dimming rather than basic edge lighting.
- HDR10+, HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision support.
- Up to 144Hz variable refresh rate, ALLM and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro on applicable versions.
- Dolby Atmos and IMAX Enhanced support.
- AiPQ Processor 3.0 image processing.
- Google TV in markets such as Australia; software and app support can differ elsewhere.
Specifications by screen size
Do not merge global marketing figures with a regional specification sheet. “Up to” brightness and zone counts are not guaranteed for every size.

Some regional versions advertise Onkyo 2.1-channel audio with a built-in subwoofer. Confirm the exact model before assuming that configuration. TCL’s global page also presents an approximately 6ms gaming-latency claim; it is a manufacturer claim, not an independent measurement.

Why the C755 can be a good buy
Strong HDR potential
Quantum dots expand colour volume while Mini-LED local dimming can deliver higher contrast and brighter highlights than conventional edge-lit or basic direct-lit LCD televisions. TCL’s brightness figures are maximum claims tied to particular sizes and regions.
Useful gaming features
Up to 144Hz VRR, HDMI 2.1 on applicable inputs, ALLM, Game Bar features and FreeSync Premium Pro make the C755 attractive to PC and console buyers. Verify which HDMI sockets support HDMI 2.1, the supported 4K refresh modes, VRR range, eARC and Dolby Vision gaming on the local firmware. “144Hz” does not mean every port or source runs at 4K/144Hz.
Large-screen pricing
The 75-, 85- and 98-inch options can offer a lot of screen for the money, particularly when a clearance price is genuinely below recent market lows.

Trade-offs to understand
Mini-LED is not OLED
Local dimming uses zones rather than individual pixels. Bright subtitles, stars and isolated highlights can produce halos or blooming, especially when viewed off-axis. OLED still has the cleanest black levels and least blooming in a dark room.
Viewing angle and motion
The C755 is LCD-based, so contrast and colour can change from the side; exact panel behaviour varies by size and market. Native 144Hz matters mainly for compatible games. Films and most streaming video use lower frame rates, while motion interpolation can introduce artifacts.
Older-model and software risk
Remaining units may be open-box, refurbished, carton-damaged or imported. Check the operating system, local streaming apps, firmware support, voice assistant, Chromecast or AirPlay availability and whether the tuner and power configuration suit your country. TCL notes that feature support can depend on the TV and app.

C755 versus newer alternatives
Current TCL models
In the U.S., TCL’s current collection centres on the QM6K, QM7K, QM8K, QM9K and related Mini-LED families rather than the C755: U.S. lineup and TV sale collection. QM6K is the lower-cost entry point, QM7K a stronger midrange comparison, and QM8K/QM9K target higher HDR performance. Outside the U.S., compare the C755 with the current local C-series replacement, not a foreign-market model. Match size, price, processing, gaming support, warranty and software before declaring one better.
OLED
- Choose OLED for dark-room films, pixel-level blacks, minimal blooming and wide viewing angles.
- Choose Mini-LED for very bright rooms, sustained full-screen brightness, large sizes at lower prices and buyers who prefer to avoid OLED image-retention concerns.
Other Mini-LED brands
Hisense Mini-LED, Samsung Neo QLED and Sony premium LCD televisions may be alternatives where locally stocked. Compare HDR behaviour, dimming, motion, VRR, software, warranty and delivered price rather than brightness claims alone.
Buying checklist
Confirm the exact unit
- Match the size and full model number, such as 55C755 or 75C755, including any regional suffix.
- Confirm new, open-box, refurbished or damaged-box condition and included stand, remote and accessories.
- Check the regional operating system, apps, tuner and power requirements.

- Is the seller authorised, and is warranty service valid in your country?
- Who pays for a failed-panel or delivery-damage return?
- Does the dead-pixel policy and return window cover a large TV?
- Is installation included, and can the seller arrange large-item pickup?
Price the logistics
Add delivery surcharges, stairs or elevator restrictions, wall-mount hardware, installation and furniture requirements. The Australian 98-inch specification lists approximately 2.179m width with stand and about 60kg net weight with stand, illustrating why delivery is part of the purchase price: 98C755 specifications.
Verify gaming connections
Before buying for a console or PC, confirm HDMI 2.1 port count, 4K/120Hz or 4K/144Hz support, VRR range, ALLM, eARC and the desired HDR gaming mode on that regional firmware. A suitable HDMI 2.1 cable may also be required.
