Huawei’s Watch GT 6 series and FreeBuds 7i were officially unveiled in Paris on September 19, 2025—not merely expected for a future September launch. Huawei’s release date referred to the first market, while retail timing differed by country. The products therefore should not be described as upcoming September 2026 launches without new evidence.
What happened, and when?
Huawei’s global product event on September 19, 2025 introduced the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6, WATCH GT 6 Pro and HUAWEI FreeBuds 7i, alongside other devices. The event details are listed on Huawei’s official launch page.
| Date | What it means |
|---|---|
| September 19, 2025 | Paris announcement and official unveiling. Huawei’s global support information also listed this as the Watch GT 6 Series release date, with Europe first to receive it. |
| September 22, 2025 | Published Nordic availability for both products through selected retailers. |
| October 6, 2025 | Watch GT 6 reservations opened in Japan. |
| October 14, 2025 | Watch GT 6 sales began in Japan. |
| October 24, 2025 | FreeBuds 7i sales began in Japan. |
The regional release information is documented in Huawei’s global support notice and the Nordic announcement on Mynewsdesk. “September launch” can consequently mean the announcement, Huawei’s first-market release date or a particular country’s retail start—not simultaneous worldwide sales.
What the Watch GT 6 series offers
Two watch models
The announcement covered the standard HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 and the higher-positioned WATCH GT 6 Pro. Sizes, finishes and straps vary by market, so a specification or price for one configuration should not be applied to every GT 6 model.

Battery claims need context
Huawei quotes up to 21 days of battery life from laboratory testing. The same announcement gives up to 12 days in typical use, up to seven days with the always-on display enabled and up to 40 hours in outdoor-sports mode. Actual endurance changes with case size, workouts, GPS, notifications, connectivity and display settings. These figures are Huawei’s claims, not independent test results.
Training and outdoor features
- More than 100 workout modes.
- A virtual cycling power-meter feature intended to provide power-related training data without a separate meter.
- Trail-running tools covering positioning, altitude trends and grade analysis.
- High-definition fairway maps and golf-oriented data.
- Skiing-focused positioning and activity information.
- Huawei TruSense health and fitness monitoring, plus claimed improvements to outdoor positioning and GPS performance.
The virtual power feature may be useful for cyclists who want an additional training metric, but its announcement does not establish accuracy against a calibrated crank-, pedal- or hub-based meter. Serious cyclists should treat a dedicated power meter as the reference until independent testing demonstrates otherwise. Compatibility with third-party platforms and sensors also needs checking for the relevant country and software version.

What the FreeBuds 7i offers
Huawei positions the FreeBuds 7i as a true-wireless earbud option with dynamic noise cancellation, Intelligent Dynamic ANC 4.0, immersive spatial audio and clearer calls. The Nordic launch material lists three colours.

- Adaptive noise cancellation is designed to react to changing surroundings.

- Call-quality improvements are manufacturer claims rather than a substitute for independent microphone testing.
ANC capability is not the same as a guaranteed level of real-world isolation. Spatial-audio behavior, codecs, controls and multipoint features can depend on the phone, operating system, app, firmware and region. Buyers should verify the exact feature set for their handset rather than assume every function works identically across Android, iOS and Huawei devices.

Who each product is best suited to
Watch GT 6
- People who value fewer charging sessions and a conventional watch design.
- Outdoor users focused on cycling, trail running, skiing, golf or general workout tracking.
- Huawei phone owners who want the closest integration with Huawei’s health ecosystem.
It may be a poor fit for someone who needs the broadest smartwatch app catalogue, deep iPhone integration, validated professional power data or uncomplicated local support. Apple Watch and Pixel Watch are stronger fits inside their respective ecosystems; Galaxy Watch offers Wear OS integration, while Garmin is more focused on advanced training and navigation.
FreeBuds 7i
- Commuters and office users seeking relatively affordable true-wireless earbuds with ANC.
- Huawei phone owners who can use the ecosystem features fully.
- Listeners interested in spatial audio, provided their phone and content support it.
Buyers who prioritize the strongest measured ANC, microphone performance or long-term cross-platform support may prefer a premium Sony, Bose, Apple, Samsung or Google model after checking independent tests and device compatibility.
Claims that still need independent verification
- Real-world battery life compared with Huawei’s laboratory and usage scenarios.
- GPS and outdoor-positioning accuracy.
- Accuracy and training value of the virtual cycling power estimate versus dedicated meters.
- How spatial audio, codecs, ANC adaptation and multipoint behave across different phones and regions.
- Current US retail, warranty and service arrangements.
Bottom line
The Watch GT 6 series and FreeBuds 7i were a genuine September 2025 launch, officially unveiled on September 19 and sold on different schedules by region. They should not be treated as upcoming September 2026 products. The watch’s headline appeal is battery endurance and outdoor fitness features, while the earbuds emphasize adaptive ANC and spatial audio; buyers must qualify Huawei’s performance claims and confirm local compatibility, pricing and support.
