In the TikTok app, go to Profile → ☰ Menu → Settings and privacy → Activity center → Watch history. To remove videos, tap Select, choose entries or Select all watch history, tap Delete, and confirm. Menu labels and availability can vary by app version, account, age setting, and region.
What TikTok history includes
“TikTok history” can mean several different records. Clearing one does not automatically clear the others.

TikTok identifies Watch, Search, and Comment history as separate Activity Center features in its Activity Center guidance. Recently deleted posts are different again: that feature concerns your own posts, not videos you watched.
How to view TikTok Watch history
- Open TikTok and sign in to the account whose history you want to check.
- Tap Profile at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the ☰ Menu button at the top.
- Tap Settings and privacy.
- Tap Activity center, then Watch history.
The list shows videos associated with your account’s viewing activity. TikTok says you can scroll through the list and filter by date. The newest entries are generally shown first, though the layout can vary. TikTok’s current accessible guidance does not promise that every video encountered will appear.

Current third-party guides commonly describe a visible history of roughly the past 180 days, but TikTok’s own accessible Activity Center guidance does not state a universal retention period. Use the date range shown in your app rather than assuming every account has the same window. See TechBriefly’s January 2026 guide and Sociallyin’s guide for the reported window.
How to delete selected watched videos
- Open Profile → ☰ Menu → Settings and privacy → Activity center → Watch history.
- Tap Select, usually near the upper-right corner.
- Tap each video entry you want to remove.
- Tap Delete and confirm if TikTok asks.
This removes selected entries from the Watch history list; it does not delete the creators’ videos from TikTok. The deletion controls are reported in current practical instructions, including this step-by-step deletion guide. If the labels differ, follow the controls shown in your app.

How to delete all visible Watch history
- Go to Profile → ☰ Menu → Settings and privacy → Activity center → Watch history.
- Tap Select.
- Choose Select all watch history.
- Tap Delete, then confirm if prompted.
Bulk deletion clears the entries available in that interface. Before doing it, save or favorite any clip you may want to find later; TikTok does not document a restore option for deleted Watch history.
How to clear TikTok Search history
- Open Profile → ☰ Menu → Settings and privacy → Activity center → Search history.
- Use the available Clear, Clear all, or selection control.
- Confirm the deletion if prompted.
The exact control can vary. Clearing Search history removes search terms from that history area; it is separate from deleting watched-video entries. TikTok describes Search history as a way to find videos through previous search terms in its Activity Center guidance.

Can you find a watched video without scrolling?
Start with date filtering in Watch history, which TikTok says is available. Some accounts also have a search route: search a distinctive keyword or hashtag, open the search filters, select Watched, and apply the filter. That filter is reported by practical guides but is not guaranteed to appear for every user; see Skaterbate’s mobile guide or Sociallyin’s guide. If it is missing, use Activity Center’s date filter and scroll.
If the video is not in the list, try searching a phrase from its caption or speech, the creator’s name, sound, or hashtag. Also check Likes, Favorites, reposts, direct messages, or your browser history. The clip may have been viewed on another account, outside the date range shown, or may no longer be available because it was removed, made private, or restricted in your region.

What deleting Watch history does—and does not—do
- It removes entries from the visible Watch history list. It does not remove the original posts.
- It does not clear other activity automatically. Comments, likes, Favorites, messages, downloads, and your own posts are separate.
- It is not a guaranteed For You feed reset. TikTok documents Refresh your For You feed as a separate feature. If recommendations are your concern, look for that control separately; do not assume deleting history will reset or immediately change the feed. See TikTok’s Watch history Help Center page.
- It is not proof that every activity record has been erased from TikTok’s systems. TikTok’s data-download documentation says an export may include watch-video history and other account data. A visible-list deletion and a data request are different actions.
- It is not the same as deleting your account. Account deletion is broader and should not be used just to clear the list.
If you need to inspect account data, request an export in Profile → ☰ Menu → Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data, choose the categories and file format, then tap Request data. TikTok says preparation may take several days. Details are in TikTok’s data-request guidance.

- Confirm that you are signed in to the intended TikTok account.
- Update TikTok through your device’s official app store, then close and reopen the app.
- Check Settings and privacy → Activity center again, or search TikTok’s settings and Help Center for Watch history.
- If the menu still is not available, use TikTok’s Help Center or in-app support rather than assuming the feature exists on every account.
Do not uninstall TikTok as a first troubleshooting step: TikTok warns that drafts may be removed when the app is uninstalled and reinstalled or when an account is moved to another device. See its guidance on editing, posting, and deleting.
If a deletion does not seem to stick
- Reopen Watch history and check whether the selected entries remain.
- Make sure you tapped the final confirmation control.
- Try removing one entry before attempting a bulk deletion.
- Restart or update the app and try again.
- If the list is important as a privacy or complaint record, save screenshots before retrying.
- If TikTok reports success but the entries return, contact TikTok support.
Can deleted Watch history be recovered?
Treat deletion as effectively irreversible in the app: current instructions describe removing entries, and there is no established Recently deleted recovery area for watched videos. TikTok’s Recently deleted feature concerns deleted posts you created, not Watch history entries. Its Help Center explains deleted-post handling here. Save or favorite a video before clearing history if you might need it again.
Can you manage Watch history on a computer?
The verified steps here are for TikTok’s mobile app. Desktop availability of the same Watch history controls is not established; use the app if you need to view or delete entries.
