Yes—the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra launched with a genuine six-month trial of Google’s paid AI plan. The 2025 promotion provided Gemini Advanced through Google One AI Premium plus 2 TB of Google One storage. It was not a permanent phone feature, and Google’s redemption deadline was February 1, 2026. As of August 18, 2026, new claims are no longer available.
The promotion also required a qualifying payment method and automatically changed to a paid Google One subscription unless canceled. Former claimants should check their subscription end date now.
What the Galaxy S25 promotion actually included
Samsung announced the benefit as part of the Galaxy S25 launch. The offer was a six-month trial of Google One AI Premium, the Google subscription tier then associated with Gemini Advanced, rather than six months of the standard free Gemini app.
- Gemini Advanced: access to Google’s more capable AI models and paid-plan features available during the trial.
- 2 TB of Google One storage: shared across Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos, subject to Google One’s account and family-sharing rules.
- Other plan benefits: whatever Google One AI Premium included for the user’s country, account and language during the offer period.
Samsung described Gemini Advanced as providing access to its most capable models and features such as Gems and Deep Research. Feature availability can vary by country, language, account, device and Google’s current plan lineup. The trial was not a permanent Gemini upgrade, unlimited access to every Google AI product, or a Samsung-owned subscription.

Which phones and purchases qualified?
The promotion covered the Galaxy S25 family:
- Galaxy S25
- Galaxy S25+
- Galaxy S25 Ultra
Google’s terms identify qualifying devices by model number and impose country and offer-market restrictions. Therefore, “every S25” should not be read as every phone sold under the S25 name worldwide. Carrier, retailer, imported-device and regional-model rules could affect eligibility. The official terms are at Google One’s Samsung S25 offer page.
| Event | Date or rule |
|---|---|
| Galaxy S25 announcement | January 22, 2025 |
| Worldwide availability announcement | February 7, 2025 |
| Eligible purchase window | January 22, 2025 through February 1, 2026, subject to country and model restrictions |
| Final redemption deadline | February 1, 2026 |
| Trial duration | Six months from redemption, not necessarily from purchase |
| Status on August 18, 2026 | Expired for new claims |
Gemini access was not exclusive to the S25
The S25’s special advantage was its integration and bundled subscription, not ownership of the Gemini app. Free Gemini access exists independently of this promotion.

Google said Gemini on the S25 could be launched with the side button and work with extensions for services including Google Maps, YouTube, Google Messages, Spotify, Samsung Reminder, Samsung Calendar, Samsung Notes and Samsung Clock. Those system and app actions are separate from the six-month Google One subscription. Google’s launch explanation is at Google’s Android blog.

How redemption worked while the offer was active
The following was the historical process. It should not be presented as a currently available offer path because the deadline has passed.
- Set up the eligible Galaxy S25 and sign in with the Google account that would own the subscription.
- Open the Google One app or the promotional offer presented through Google services.
- Select the Samsung Galaxy S25 six-month offer and review its terms.
- Add or confirm a qualifying payment method in Google Payments.
- Accept the offer and confirm that the Google One subscription appears in Google One or Google Play.
- Open Google Play Store → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions to verify the end date.
Google required a Google Payments account and qualifying payment method even though the initial six months were free. The exact interface could vary by country, device, app version and account.

Why an existing Google One customer might not have qualified
Owning an eligible phone did not guarantee six additional months on top of every existing Google subscription. Google’s terms allowed existing Google One users in some circumstances but prohibited stacking and imposed important exclusions.
- The trial could not be added to another active free trial.
- It could be redeemed only once and could not be combined with another Google One offer.
- Users on a higher-tier plan than the offered plan were excluded.
- Family-plan members who were not the plan manager were excluded.
- Subscriptions obtained through a third party or affiliate, certain add-ons and discounted Pixel bundles could be ineligible.
- Only one trial could be used at a time.
Google warned that redeeming the S25 trial while another trial or subscription was active could revoke the existing trial or subscription plan, regardless of the remaining time. Anyone considering a promotion should first save a screenshot of the current plan and renewal date.
What happened after the six months?
Unless canceled, the subscription automatically converted to the standard monthly Google One price applicable in the user’s country. Google’s plan names and prices may have changed since the 2025 launch, so there is no single universal price to quote today.

Cancellation was allowed at any time, and Google’s terms said access remained active through the end of the offer period. To check a former claimant’s status:
- Open Google Play Store → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Select the relevant Google One subscription.
- Check the plan name, renewal date and payment profile.
- Cancel before the displayed end date if continued billing is unwanted.
- Keep the cancellation confirmation.
Storage after cancellation
The 2 TB allowance ends with the eligible subscription. Google’s terms warn that an account above the free storage limit may be unable to store new data after cancellation until the user frees space or purchases Google One again. Review usage in Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos, including any shared family storage. Cancellation does not mean files disappear immediately, but storage-dependent functions can be restricted when the account is over its limit.
Returning the phone
The terms state that returning the purchased device may result in cancellation of the subscription. They do not promise a particular refund or billing outcome; that depends on the seller, country, account and timing.

Troubleshooting the most common problems
| Problem | Likely explanation | Recommended action |
|---|---|---|
| No offer appears | The deadline passed, or the device, country, model or account was not eligible. | Check the exact model, purchase window, region and Google account. A new claim should not be expected after February 1, 2026. |
| Only a one-month Gemini trial appears | You are seeing a general promotion rather than the Samsung offer. | Do not accept it until you understand how Google’s non-stacking rules affect an existing trial or subscription. |
| An existing plan changed or disappeared | Google’s terms allowed a new trial to replace or revoke another trial or subscription. | Review Google Play subscription history and contact Google support for account-specific help. |
| An unexpected charge appears | Automatic renewal, a different Google account or payment profile, or cancellation after the billing date. | Check the renewal and cancellation dates in Google Play and use Google’s subscription support; do not assume a refund. |
| Storage functions are restricted | The 2 TB trial ended while the account remained above its free limit. | Free space or choose a current Google One plan before relying on new uploads or backups. |
Should the expired promotion affect an S25 purchase in 2026?
No. Buying an S25 specifically to obtain six free months of Gemini is no longer rational because the redemption deadline has passed. Evaluate the phone on its current hardware, cameras, battery, display, software-support runway, storage tier, price, condition and carrier compatibility.
Also consider whether you actually need 2 TB of cloud storage or a paid AI plan. A current Google One plan may suit someone who values storage and Gemini features, while a free Gemini account may be enough for occasional chatbot use. Storage-focused alternatives such as OneDrive, Dropbox or iCloud+ differ in ecosystem support, photo backup, family sharing, storage tiers and AI capabilities; none should be assumed equivalent to Gemini Advanced.
Bottom line
The Galaxy S25 promotion was real: six months of Google One AI Premium with Gemini Advanced and 2 TB of storage. It began when redeemed, required a payment method, and renewed into a paid subscription unless canceled. Because Google’s final redemption date was February 1, 2026, it is now a historical benefit rather than an offer available to new S25 buyers.
