Claro TV+ expanded its Brazilian streaming lineup with Disney+ and Star+ on September 1, 2022. The deal added Disney-owned streaming subscriptions to Claro’s pay-TV and streaming platform, with access and billing handled through eligible Claro plans. Star+ is no longer a separate service: Disney moved its programming into Disney+ in 2024, so current customers should look for one consolidated Disney+ service rather than two apps.
What Claro announced in 2022
The announcement was an expansion of Claro TV+, not the launch or ownership of Disney’s services. Disney remained responsible for the content; Claro provided aggregation, eligible-plan access, equipment integration and, in some arrangements, billing.

The commercial proposition was convenience: customers could use Claro TV+ equipment or apps and, where their terms allowed it, place the subscription on a Claro bill. The 2022 announcement did not establish one universal package for every subscriber. Inclusion, add-on pricing, equipment and eligibility depended on the customer’s plan, location and applicable commercial terms.
When the offer changed

June 26, 2024: Star+ ceased as a separate service
Disney consolidated Star+ programming in Disney+. Claro’s Brazil information explains that the standalone Star+ service ended and its general-entertainment and ESPN-related programming moved to the newer Disney+ destination. Do not expect a current Star+ app in Brazil; install or update Disney+ instead. Migration of an existing Disney+, Star+ or Combo+ subscription can produce a different Disney+ tier, so check the plan shown in the customer account.
How billing and eligibility worked
Eligible customers could receive Disney+, Star+ or a combined offer through a Claro mobile or home-service account. Claro’s published terms describe charging these subscriptions through the Claro bill; an example is the Claro Disney/Star terms document. The exact contract and market terms vary, so Brazilian customers should rely on the offer displayed in Minha Claro.

- A bundled subscription still has a Disney account and Disney’s service rules.
- Canceling or changing the qualifying Claro plan can remove an included or Claro-billed Disney benefit.
- Confirm whether Claro or Disney is charging you before canceling. Keeping both subscriptions active can create duplicate billing.
- A bundle is not automatically cheaper than direct Disney+; compare the total price and the other services or live channels you actually use.
How to activate Disney+ through Claro
Claro’s current Brazil instructions use Minha Claro or an activation link sent by SMS or email. Use this sequence:
- Sign in to Minha Claro.
- Open Minhas Assinaturas or the Claro TV+ subscription area.
- Select Disney+ and choose Ativar.
- If Claro sent an SMS or email link, open that link instead of purchasing a second subscription.
- Create a Disney account or connect the existing account associated with your Claro offer.
- Install or open Disney+ on a supported smart TV, Claro decoder, streaming device, phone, tablet or computer.
- Check the Disney account page to confirm the expected plan before starting playback.
On supported Claro 4K decoders, Claro lists Disney+ on channel 835. That channel number is device- and market-specific, not a universal rule for every Claro TV+ customer. The official activation route is Claro’s streaming activation page.

Claro TV+ versus subscribing directly to Disney+

Compare the complete monthly total, not just a promotional headline. Claro’s Streamings plan and App plan can include several services, while a direct subscription may be better for someone who does not need live TV or other apps. The activation link never arrives
- Open Minha Claro and check whether the subscription is active.
- Verify the registered email address and mobile number.
- Do not start a second Disney subscription until Claro confirms that no activation is pending.
- Contact Claro if the benefit is active but no activation path appears.
Your existing Disney account is not recognized
- Use the same email address associated with the existing Disney account.
- Follow the linking flow rather than creating another account.
- Check whether the old account is billed directly by Disney; cancel the duplicate only after confirming which subscription you intend to keep.
You cannot find Star+
That is expected after the 2024 consolidation. Use the current Disney+ app, search there for the title or ESPN content, and verify that your plan includes the required feature.

A title or sports event is unavailable
- Confirm the account country and region.
- Check whether the title is included in your Disney+ tier.
- Distinguish on-demand Disney+ content from a separate Claro linear channel.
- Remember that catalogs and sports rights can change.
4K playback does not work
- Confirm that the account is on Premium.
- Check TV, decoder, HDMI path, network and title support for 4K/HDR.
- A 4K-capable Claro box does not make every Disney+ title 4K.
Bottom line for subscribers
The 2022 Claro TV+ expansion gave Brazilian customers a way to combine Disney+ and then-separate Star+ access with Claro television services and, for eligible offers, one bill. Today the practical product is Disney+ with Star-branded entertainment and ESPN-related programming integrated. Choose Claro TV+ when you value consolidated billing, live channels or operator equipment; choose direct Disney+ when you want only the streaming service and independent cancellation. In either case, verify the current plan, ESPN rights, device support and billing owner before subscribing.
