The Wiko K-Kool is a 2016 entry-level Android smartphone with a 5-inch screen, Android 6.0 Marshmallow and 3G/HSPA+ cellular connectivity—but no listed 4G/LTE. It may suit a collector or a simple offline project; as a daily phone today, its outdated software, limited memory, uncertain network compatibility and aged battery are serious drawbacks.
What the Wiko K-Kool is
Wiko introduced the K-Kool in early 2016 as the middle model in a low-cost Kool family with the smaller B-Kool and larger S-Kool. The K-Kool paired a 5-inch display with basic cameras, 8 GB of storage and a removable battery. Wiko described its styling as a rounded, robust aluminum body; that marketing description does not establish that every exterior part is solid aluminum. The range was aimed primarily at emerging markets, and availability varied by country. Les Numériques’ 2016 MWC report covered the family, while Frandroid’s launch coverage described planned April–May availability.
There is no single global release date established across markets. The safest description is that it was announced in early 2016 and rolled out selectively during that year.

Display, performance and software
Screen
The 5-inch TFT screen is 480 × 854 pixels, roughly 196 pixels per inch. That was a budget-class resolution, not HD: text and fine details look less sharp than on many later phones. The screen is large enough for basic messaging and browsing, but Wiko’s specification does not establish modern display protection or advanced refresh-rate features.
Everyday capability
The Cortex-A7 processor, Mali-400MP graphics and 1 GB RAM indicate an entry-level platform. They are consistent with basic calls, texts, light browsing, music and older apps, not demanding games or heavy multitasking. This is an assessment from the listed hardware, not a hands-on benchmark. Listings that say 512 MB RAM may describe a different regional variant, so verify the actual device.

This affordable small smartphone is easy to hold and carry, making it a practical choice for calls, texts, maps, music and light internet browsing. Note 22 includes 3GB physical RAM, supports up to 17GB virtual RAM expansion and provides 32GB internal storage. Add a microSD card up to 2TB for photos, music, apps and files. Designed for essential daily tasks rather than heavy gaming or demanding applications.

Please confirm network compatibility with your carrier before purchasing.
- [Removable 3000mAh Battery & USB-C Charging] The removable 3000mAh battery supports daily calls, messages and up to 208 hours of standby time, while the USB-C port makes routine charging simple and convenient. IMPORTANT FIRST-USE STEP: Open the back cover and remove the yellow insulating tab from the battery before powering on. The phone will not turn on until the tab is removed.
- [Clear Camera Details & Useful Daily Features] Note 22 has one functional 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera for simple snapshots and video calls. The other two circular elements on the back are decorative and are not additional cameras. Also includes face unlock, FM radio, eye comfort mode and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Package includes phone, wall charger, USB-A to USB-C cable, TPU case, protective film, manual and warranty card.
The 8 GB internal capacity is nominal; the operating system and bundled software reduce the space left for files and apps. A microSD card can help store photos and media, but it cannot turn the phone into a modern device or guarantee that apps can be moved to external storage.
Android and updates
The K-Kool launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Wiko has an archived K-Kool updates and resets support page, but the reviewed sources do not verify a later Android upgrade or a current security-patch level. Current app compatibility should therefore be checked app by app rather than assumed. The old operating system is also a poor foundation for security-sensitive use such as mobile banking or password management.

Cameras and battery
Cameras
Wiko lists a 5 MP rear camera with flash and a 2 MP front camera. Its feature list includes HDR, panorama, face detection, gesture capture, smile shot and automatic scene detection. Those features do not establish image quality, and the specification does not list autofocus. Wiko also lists 1080p/30 fps video recording, but a recording mode is not a quality guarantee. The available sources do not provide independent laboratory camera testing.
Battery and charging
The removable battery is rated at 2,000 mAh. Wiko claimed up to 440 hours of standby, 20 hours of 2G talk time and 12.5 hours of 3G talk time; these are manufacturer estimates, not expected results from a used phone today. Charging uses Micro-USB.

An original battery is now roughly a decade old, so its condition matters more than its original capacity. Replacement cells may be hard to find or may be low-quality third-party parts. Do not use a battery that is swollen, leaking, unusually hot or draining rapidly; a phone that powers on is not necessarily safe or dependable.

The K-Kool is a 2G/3G handset in Wiko’s specifications, with no 4G/LTE listed. That is often its most consequential limitation now. Whether it can register on a network depends on the precise regional model and bands, the carrier’s remaining 3G service, SIM compatibility and carrier provisioning. Some countries and local networks may still support compatible 3G phones; others have retired or are retiring 3G. In the United States, 3G shutdowns mean compatibility cannot be assumed. Wi-Fi may still work even if cellular service does not.
Best Value
- Compatibility Notice: Requires physical nano-SIM card. ONLY works with T-Mobile's native network. Does NOT support MVNOs (Mint Mobile, Metro, Red Pocket, Cricket, Boost) or other carriers (AT&T, Verizon).

The compact 4.96-inch screen makes it effortless to check calls, texts, and messages on the go — a practical daily phone, backup device, or travel companion for anyone who prefers a smaller, more manageable smartphone. - Android 16 GO for Simple Daily Communication: Powered by Android 16 GO Edition, the AGM Note N2 handles everyday essentials smoothly — calls, texts, browsing, email, and video chats. Designed for essential daily tasks. Not recommended for heavy multitasking, graphic-intensive apps, or mobile gaming.
- Removable 3000mAh Battery + 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage: Unlike most modern smartphones, AGM Note N2 features a removable battery — easy to replace when needed, giving you more flexibility for long-term use. 3GB RAM supports smooth everyday performance for calls, messages, and browsing. 32GB internal storage expandable up to 256GB via microSD.
- Dual Nano SIM — Flexible for Work, Travel, and Backup Use: Manage two phone numbers on one compact device — ideal for keeping work and personal lines separate, staying connected while traveling, or using as a reliable backup phone. Includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for a complete everyday experience.
- Identify the exact model and regional version rather than relying on a generic listing.
- Ask the intended carrier whether that model’s 3G bands and SIM can be activated on its current network.
- Confirm that local 3G coverage remains available and that the carrier supports the services you need, including emergency calling where relevant.
- Test cellular registration with the intended SIM before relying on the phone.
Regional versions: SIM and RAM discrepancies
Wiko’s global and Kenya product pages list one mini-SIM, while GSMchoice and contemporary regional reports describe dual-SIM versions. RAM reports also differ: Wiko lists 1 GB, while some secondary records say 512 MB. These discrepancies are reasons to inspect the particular handset, not to assume every report describes the same configuration. Wiko’s model-identification guidance directs users to Settings, then About device or About phone, to find a model name or number. Check the SIM tray and device information as well.
Original price and the other Kool phones
Contemporary launch coverage put the K-Kool at approximately $69, with planned availability around April–May 2016. That is an original announced price, not a current used-phone valuation. The three models were positioned at different sizes and price points:
| Model | Launch-era positioning | Reported key distinctions |
|---|---|---|
| B-Kool | Approximately $49 | 4-inch screen; lower camera and battery specifications than the K-Kool |
| K-Kool | Approximately $69 | 5-inch screen, 5 MP rear camera, 2 MP front camera, 2,000 mAh battery |
| S-Kool | Approximately $99 | 5.5-inch HD screen, stronger camera specifications and larger battery |
These are launch-series comparisons from Les Numériques’ 2016 coverage; regional specifications and availability may differ. The prices should not be read as present-day prices.
Is the Wiko K-Kool worth using today?
Reasonable uses
- Collector or repair project: Its age and documented product history make it a plausible collection or restoration device.
- Offline device: If the handset and battery are in safe working order, it may serve for simple offline music, an alarm, or basic camera use.
- Temporary backup: Consider it only where the exact handset’s network compatibility and battery condition have been verified.
- Use in a market with 3G: It may be usable for basic functions if a compatible network, SIM and local service are confirmed.
Poor fits
- A modern primary phone, especially where 3G service is gone or unreliable.
- Mobile banking, password management or other security-sensitive tasks.
- Apps whose current minimum Android version exceeds Android 6.0.
- Modern gaming, high-quality photography or video, or heavy multitasking.
- Anyone who needs 4G/LTE, VoLTE, USB-C or current security updates.
Used-phone inspection checklist
- Confirm identity: Open Settings → About device or About phone and record the model name or number. Compare it with the listing and packaging.
- Verify configuration: Check the SIM tray and the device’s RAM and storage information; do not assume a dual-SIM or 1 GB RAM listing is correct for that unit.
- Test the network: With the intended carrier’s SIM, confirm registration and calls where possible; check the carrier’s current 3G support and the model’s bands before purchase.
- Inspect the battery: Remove it if possible and check for swelling, leakage or damage. Stop using a suspect battery.
- Test core hardware: Check touchscreen response, cameras, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, speaker, microphone, Micro-USB charging and headphone jack.
- Check ownership and condition: Confirm the phone is not carrier-locked and that it can be reset and set up for your use.
- Assess app needs: Check the Android version required by each essential app rather than relying on a broad compatibility claim.
Wiko’s K-Kool user guide and support archive may help with setup and reset procedures. The manufacturer-listed box contents were the phone, removable battery, AC adapter, headset, Micro-USB cable and user guide; a used or regional bundle may not contain all of them.
