Check the exact retailer listing before buying: some Best Buy promotional results include refurbished devices, and the amount saved depends on the configuration, condition and final checkout price.
What the iPad 11 discount listings cover
Apple markets this model simply as iPad with A16; it is also commonly called the 11th-generation iPad or iPad 11. The 2025 tablet comes in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage capacities, with Wi‑Fi or Wi‑Fi + Cellular connectivity. A retailer result for “iPad A16” does not by itself confirm which storage, connection type, condition, color or seller is on offer. Apple’s product page and technical specifications identify the model and its configurations.
Best Buy has a promotional page for A16 iPads, but the accessible listings do not establish a reliable current sale price or promotion end date. Search results also include Geek Squad Certified Refurbished stock, which is not the same offer as a new iPad. Confirm the condition and seller on the individual item page rather than assuming every result is new. Compare any sale with Apple’s current list prices

Once you have a live price for the same configuration, calculate the discount as: (Apple list price − sale price) ÷ Apple list price × 100. For example, compare a 128GB Wi‑Fi offer only with the $449 128GB Wi‑Fi baseline—not with a cellular or refurbished model. Do not count a trade-in, financing, gift card or member reward as an immediate reduction in the device’s checkout price.

A deal can also depend on a coupon, membership, specific color, open-box or refurbished condition, third-party marketplace seller, or carrier plan. Check the item condition, seller, pre-tax checkout total, return terms, warranty and stock before treating the headline price as your savings. No verified expiration date is available here.
Is 128GB or 256GB the better buy?
At Apple’s list prices, 256GB costs $100 more than 128GB. During a sale, compare the two actual prices: the effective upgrade cost is the 256GB sale price minus the 128GB sale price. If that gap remains close to $100, choose based on how much storage you will use, not on capacity alone. If a promotion narrows the gap substantially, 256GB may be a more appealing long-term purchase.

Choose 128GB if
- You mainly browse, stream, email, take notes or do schoolwork.
- You use cloud storage and are comfortable removing downloaded movies, music or games.
- The iPad is for a child, casual gaming or occasional use, and the lower sale price matters most.
Consider 256GB if
- You keep large games, media downloads, photo or video libraries, or creative apps on the iPad.
- You make art or music with apps that store substantial project files.
- You expect to keep the tablet for years and want to spend less time managing available space.
Both figures are storage capacity, not RAM. The iPad has no microSD slot, so choose a capacity that fits your offline files and apps.
What you get with the A16 iPad
Apple lists an A16 chip with a five-core CPU, four-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. The display is marketed as an 11-inch Liquid Retina screen; Apple measures it as 10.86 inches diagonally when treated as a rectangle. Its resolution is 2360 × 1640 at 264 pixels per inch, with True Tone and 500-nit brightness. Other listed features include a 12MP rear camera, a landscape 12MP Center Stage front camera, USB-C, Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, Touch ID and support for one external display up to 4K at 60Hz. Apple’s specifications are the source for these figures.

Apple claims up to 10 hours of web browsing or video playback over Wi‑Fi, or up to 9 hours using cellular data; these are manufacturer estimates, not independent test results. The box includes a USB-C cable and 20W USB-C power adapter. Apple Pencil USB-C and first-generation Apple Pencil are supported, but the first-generation Pencil requires a USB-C to Apple Pencil Adapter for pairing and charging. Pencil and keyboard accessories are separate purchases.

New versus refurbished
A certified-refurbished iPad can make sense if its discount is worthwhile and the seller clearly explains warranty coverage, return period and battery policy. Prefer a new model if the refurbished grading or warranty is unclear, or if the savings are modest. Make sure the listing identifies the A16 generation and exact storage; an “iPad 11” label alone may not be enough to distinguish condition or configuration.

Wi‑Fi versus cellular
Wi‑Fi is usually the simpler choice for home, school or work use, especially if a phone hotspot is enough when traveling. Apple’s list-price premium for cellular is $150 at both 128GB ($599 versus $449) and 256GB ($699 versus $549). Cellular models support 5G, use eSIM rather than a physical SIM card, and require a compatible data plan; the hardware price does not include ongoing connectivity.
Performance and display limits
This is Apple’s A16-based entry-level iPad, not an iPad Air or iPad Pro with an M-series chip. Apple’s specification page does not list Apple Intelligence support for this model, so do not buy it expecting the same AI feature support as compatible M-series iPads. Apple also does not describe this display as laminated or ProMotion. USB-C data transfer is USB 2, up to 480Mb/s.
When to buy—and when to look elsewhere
Buy when the exact new or refurbished configuration you want is clearly identified, the final price is meaningfully below Apple’s matching list price, and the seller’s return and warranty terms work for you. A historical Amazon deal is not proof of a current offer: a March 18, 2026 report described the 128GB model below $300, but that promotion is past. Tom’s Guide’s report is dated March 18, 2026.
- Look at an iPad Air if you need an M-series chip or more capable hardware for demanding creative and productivity work; compare its actual discounted price with the iPad 11’s sale price.
- Consider the 512GB iPad 11 if the 256GB offer is unusually close to the higher-storage model’s price.
- Compare refurbished previous-generation iPads or Android tablets if price is the overriding concern and you do not need this model’s specific hardware or iPadOS ecosystem.
- Skip a purported deal if it hides refurbished or open-box condition, depends on an unclear marketplace seller, requires an unwanted carrier plan, or saves little against Apple’s price.
Because colors, stock and checkout promotions can change separately, verify the live listing immediately before placing an order. The current evidence establishes Apple’s price benchmarks and the existence of retailer promotional inventory, but not one definitive active discount amount.
