As of August 16, 2026, none of the three advertised prices can be treated as confirmed live offers. The iPad 9 has been discontinued, the TP-Link router model is not identified, and the Narwal discount lacks a verifiable retailer page. Check the checkout price, exact model, condition, seller, warranty and return terms before paying.

The original roundup remains useful as a buying checklist, not as proof that these prices are still available. Deal pages can stay indexed after inventory or coupons disappear.

What is—and is not—verified

Offer Current evidence Buying decision
iPad 9 for $199 The model launched in 2021 and Apple discontinued it on May 7, 2024. The original roundup describes an all-time-low price, but does not expose a current seller, configuration or condition. MacRumors reported the discontinuation. Assume old, refurbished, renewed or marketplace stock until a retailer confirms otherwise.
TP-Link Wi‑Fi 7 router for $99 The exact model is missing. TP-Link’s Archer BE9300 is one example of a much more capable tri-band Wi‑Fi 7 router, but there is no evidence that it was the $99 product. TP-Link’s specifications identify its features. Do not compare the price until the model number, bands and ports are known.
Narwal Freo X Ultra, $400 off The discount, retailer, reference price, condition and warranty were not independently verified. Treat the claim as historical and unverified.

iPad 9 at $199: attractive only if the stock is trustworthy

What you get

The ninth-generation iPad has a 10.2-inch Retina display, an A13 Bionic chip, Touch ID, a Lightning connector, a headphone jack, Wi‑Fi 5 and support for the first-generation Apple Pencil. It was sold with 64GB or 256GB storage and rated for up to 10 hours of Wi‑Fi web browsing or video use under Apple’s stated conditions. See Apple’s technical specifications.

Apple launched the line from $329 in the United States, so $199 sounds compelling compared with its historical price. That launch price is not a current MSRP, however; Apple no longer sells the model.

Questions to answer at checkout

  • Is the unit new, Apple-certified refurbished, retailer-refurbished, renewed, open-box or marketplace stock?
  • Is it the 64GB Wi‑Fi model, or a different capacity or cellular configuration?
  • Who is the seller, and does the package include the original charger and cable?
  • Does the purchase include Apple’s one-year limited warranty, a shorter refurbisher warranty or no manufacturer coverage?
  • What are the return period, battery-health policy and activation-lock protections?

A used iPad can have a degraded battery, cosmetic damage or missing accessories. A marketplace listing can also show a low headline price before shipping and tax.

Storage, accessories and longevity

For web browsing, streaming, reading, video calls and ordinary note-taking, the A13 remains serviceable. The 64GB version is much less comfortable for games, downloaded video, large photo libraries and school files. Lightning means older accessories remain useful, but buyers building a USB‑C setup may pay to replace cables, hubs and drives.

The A13 platform is older than the current entry-level iPad hardware. Apple’s current store should be checked for the exact model and storage: one captured shop result listed a base iPad from $349, while a separate 128GB Wi‑Fi configuration page showed $449. Those are different configurations, not a single confirmed price. Use Apple’s iPad store and the 128GB configuration page to compare the checkout total. A newer iPad is usually the better purchase when the price gap is small, especially if you need USB‑C, more storage, newer cameras or a longer runway for iPadOS features. Apple’s current software compatibility and any Apple Intelligence requirements must be checked separately; there is no basis here to promise support for the iPad 9.

Who should buy

  • Someone who wants the lowest legitimate price for basic tablet use and accepts an older design.
  • A buyer who already owns Lightning accessories and can verify battery, warranty and return terms.

Who should skip it

  • Anyone needing USB‑C, substantial local storage or the longest likely software life.
  • Anyone unable to verify that the seller is reputable and the device is not activation-locked.

$99 TP-Link Wi‑Fi 7 router: model number matters more than the standard

Why the headline is incomplete

TP-Link sells several Wi‑Fi 7 routers, including the Archer BE230, BE3600, BE550, BE800 and BE9300. They differ in whether they have 6GHz, 320MHz channels, tri-band radios, Multi-Link Operation (MLO), 2.5Gbps ports and EasyMesh support. A $99 dual-band unit is a very different purchase from a tri-band flagship.

Apple iPad 2020 (10.2-inch, Wi-Fi, 32GB) - Space Gray (Renewed)
  • Gorgeous 10.2-Inch Retina Display - A12 Bionic Chip with Neural Engine

For scale, TP-Link lists the Archer BE9300 as tri-band Wi‑Fi 7 with a 9.2Gbps aggregate wireless rate, MLO, a 2.5Gbps WAN port, a 2.5Gbps LAN port, three 1Gbps LAN ports, USB 3.0 and EasyMesh compatibility. These are manufacturer specifications, not the speed one client will necessarily achieve. See the BE9300 product page.

Verify these details

  1. Read the exact model and regional hardware revision from the listing and box.
  2. Confirm whether it is new, renewed or marketplace stock and identify the seller.
  3. Check the number of bands, 6GHz support, 320MHz-channel support and MLO.
  4. Check WAN and LAN speeds against your modem, switch, internet plan and wired clients.
  5. Review EasyMesh compatibility, firmware support and whether desired HomeShield security controls require a paid subscription.
  6. Confirm shipping, tax, return window and warranty before submitting payment.

When Wi‑Fi 7 helps

The purchase makes sense when the home has Wi‑Fi 7 phones, laptops or PCs, many simultaneous clients, multi-gigabit internet or fast local-network transfers. A 2.5Gbps port matters only when the rest of the network can use it.

It is a poor upgrade for a small home with mostly Wi‑Fi 5 or Wi‑Fi 6 devices, an internet plan below roughly 500Mbps, or coverage problems caused by walls and floor layout. A well-placed Wi‑Fi 6 router or a multi-node mesh system can outperform one expensive router in a large or multistory home. Headline wireless rates are aggregate theoretical figures; interference, channel availability and client antennas determine real throughput.

Narwal Freo X Ultra with $400 off: verify the value, not the percentage

What remains unknown

The available evidence does not establish the retailer, current sale price, original MSRP, condition, colors covered, included accessories, warranty provider or stock status. A “$400 off” label can be calculated from MSRP, a temporary reference price or a price that was rarely charged.

Before buying, compare the final checkout price with recent prices for the same SKU and confirm who handles repairs. Check that replacement mop pads, brushes, detergent, dust bags and other consumables are available in the United States and learn their recurring cost.

Set realistic expectations

The Freo X Ultra is positioned as a premium vacuum-and-mop system with dock automation, but a dock does not make ownership maintenance-free. Owners still need to clean tanks and trays, clear jams, wash or replace pads and brushes, and handle debris the robot misses. Mopping can struggle with dried or sticky stains, while cables, socks, pet toys, thresholds, dark flooring, shag rugs and reflective surfaces can affect navigation. Do not treat obstacle avoidance, suction or drying performance as guaranteed without a named independent test or current first-party documentation.

It is most plausible as a value purchase for homes prioritizing dock-based automation and mostly hard floors. Homes with thick carpet, many pets or difficult thresholds should compare brush design, pickup testing and service support rather than relying on the discount percentage. Older flagships may also receive less software attention than current models.

A practical comparison before you buy

Need Check first Likely better direction
Lowest-cost tablet iPad 9 condition, 64GB capacity, battery and warranty Verified iPad 9 only if substantially cheaper; otherwise compare the current base iPad or Apple-certified refurbished stock at Apple’s refurbished store.
Faster home networking Exact TP-Link model, 6GHz, port speeds and coverage Wi‑Fi 7 for compatible multi-gigabit homes; Wi‑Fi 6 or mesh for slower plans and coverage-limited homes.
Automated floor cleaning Real sale price, seller warranty, consumable supply and floor compatibility Freo X Ultra only after those checks; otherwise compare a current robot at the same effective price.

How to check any “today” deal safely

  1. Open the retailer page rather than relying on a search-result snippet or archived roundup.
  2. Record the model number, storage or color, condition, seller and timestamp.
  3. Add the item to cart and note shipping, tax, membership or coupon requirements.
  4. Read the return policy and warranty, including who pays for service.
  5. Compare the final total with a current model or certified-refurbished alternative.
  6. Save a screenshot or receipt if the offer is a short promotion or clearance listing.
