The HONOR Magic V3 is already released. HONOR announced it in China on July 12, 2024, began Chinese retail sales on July 19, and unveiled the international model at IFA Berlin on September 5, 2024. Its launch pricing started at CNY 8,999 in China, while the UK launch price was £1,699.99 for a 12GB/512GB version. In 2026, it is an older model: HONOR’s current stores promote newer Magic V5 and V6 phones, so availability, warranty and pricing now depend heavily on the country.

The Chinese sales date is stated in HONOR’s China announcement. The September date is an international unveiling, not a single worldwide retail date; each country’s stock, carrier support and warranty terms are separate.

These are launch-era figures, not guaranteed 2026 prices. Promotional trade-ins, bundled accessories, taxes and importer markups can change the amount paid. Do not convert CNY 8,999 or £1,699.99 into an “official” US price. HONOR’s UK product page remains useful for specifications, while its current UK store primarily lists newer V-series models.

Design and displays
At 9.2mm closed and 226g, the Magic V3 targets buyers who find many book foldables too bulky. The 6.43-inch outer screen is intended for ordinary phone tasks without opening the device, while the 7.92-inch inner panel provides substantially more room for documents, multitasking and video. Thickness figures are manufacturer measurements and can vary with protective films, measurement points and the camera housing.
The Chinese specification lists LTPO OLED panels, up to a 120Hz refresh rate, 10.7 billion colors and DCI-P3 coverage. Its 4320Hz outer and 3840Hz inner PWM figures describe flicker-control behavior, not a guarantee that every user will avoid eye strain. Some eye-comfort functions can depend on software updates or app support.

Performance and software differences
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was a flagship Android platform at launch. HONOR introduced the Chinese phone with MagicOS 8.0.1. Global and Chinese editions can differ in preinstalled apps, Google services, supported languages, update timing and regional features; an imported Chinese handset should not be assumed to be identical after installing Google Play.
Check the exact regional model before relying on Google Wallet, Android Auto, banking applications, eSIM, carrier bands or a particular update schedule. The official material cited here does not establish expandable storage, so treat the listed capacities as fixed internal storage.
Camera system
Three rear cameras
The rear system combines a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 50MP telephoto and a 40MP ultrawide. Technical comparison data reports up to 3.5× optical telephoto magnification. HONOR also advertises up to 100× digital zoom, but digital zoom is not equivalent to 100× optical detail.

Two cover-display cameras
There is a 20MP front camera on each display, allowing selfies and video calls whether the phone is closed or open. Sensor specifications alone do not establish image quality, low-light performance or video results; those require independent testing.
Battery, charging and durability
HONOR quotes a 5,150mAh typical battery and 5,050mAh rated capacity. Wired charging reaches 66W and wireless charging 50W, but maximum speeds require compatible HONOR charging equipment, and actual power changes with temperature, battery level and device behavior. Charger inclusion can vary by market and bundle.
The phone carries an IPX8 rating. HONOR describes laboratory fresh-water resistance to up to 2.5 meters for up to 30 minutes on its UK page. “X” means no dust-ingress rating was stated. Water resistance can decline after drops, repairs or wear; salt water, chlorinated water and other liquids are additional risks.

HONOR attributes the phone’s Super Steel Hinge, more than 2,100MPa hinge strength, aerospace-grade fiber, Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield and armored inner-screen construction to its own engineering claims. These claims should not be read as proof that it is tougher than every competing foldable. Foldable screens and hinges remain more vulnerable and expensive to repair than conventional phone designs.

A Chinese import may cost less, but verify each of the following before paying:
- Google Play and Google Mobile Services availability.
- Language selection, Android Auto, Google Wallet and banking-app behavior.
- LTE and 5G bands for your carrier, plus eSIM support if required.
- Warranty country, repair route and return shipping.
- Region restrictions, update policy and whether the seller is supplying a genuine global model.
Adding Google Play does not automatically provide the same software, certification, network compatibility or support as a global handset.

Can you buy the Magic V3 in the United States?
There is no confirmed US launch price in the cited official sources. A global import may operate on some US networks, but compatibility depends on the exact model bands and changing carrier requirements. US buyers also need to price sales tax, customs, overseas warranty shipping, return costs and the loss of domestic carrier financing or trade-in offers. That makes an imported V3 a specialist purchase rather than a normal US retail alternative.
Is the Magic V3 still worth buying in 2026?
It can make sense when a reputable seller offers a substantial discount and a local warranty. Its thin, light body, large displays, telephoto camera, large battery and fast charging remain attractive. The case is weaker at anything close to the original UK price because the model launched in 2024 and HONOR’s current lineup has moved on.
For a current UK purchase, HONOR’s store has shown the newer Magic V5 at £1,299.99 and Magic V6 at £1,999.99; those figures were seen on August 16, 2026 and are volatile. Compare a discounted V3 against the exact current model’s warranty, software-support period, cameras and charging hardware rather than against launch-era specifications alone.
Choose the V3 when portability and value outweigh the age of the platform. Choose a newer officially sold model when local support, long-term updates, financing or the lowest import risk matters more.
