The livestream has ended, so use the official Nintendo Direct replay rather than looking for a live broadcast. Nintendo’s Nintendo Direct archive also lists the presentation and later broadcasts.
What the presentation was—and was not
Nintendo described the March 27 broadcast as approximately 30 minutes of information about upcoming games for Nintendo Switch. It was not the Switch 2 presentation: Nintendo said no new Switch 2 information would be included. “Switch 1” is informal shorthand for the original Nintendo Switch family, including Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch OLED Model; it is not the official name Nintendo used for the console.
The title “final Switch 1 Direct” was a prediction based on the timing, not an official Nintendo designation. The available event description establishes the presentation’s platform focus, but does not supply a verified, title-by-title announcement list or timestamps. For the complete sequence of trailers and announcements, use the replay itself rather than relying on unverified summaries.

How it differed from the Switch 2 Direct
Nintendo scheduled a separate presentation for April 2, 2025. Its January 16 announcement identified that date for a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. The two broadcasts had different purposes:
| Presentation | Date | Focus | Length |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Direct – Nintendo Switch | March 27, 2025 | Upcoming games for the original Nintendo Switch | Approximately 30 minutes |
| Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 | April 2, 2025 | Switch 2 hardware, software and features | Approximately 60 minutes |
The April 2 broadcast was a separate event, not a continuation of the March 27 Direct. Nintendo’s announcement is available on its corporate site.

Was it really the last Switch 1 Direct?
No—not if “last” means the final Nintendo presentation to include original-Switch games. The March broadcast was the last major Direct announced at that point to focus exclusively on the original Switch, but Nintendo did not officially call it the final Switch 1 Direct. Its timing—after the Switch 2 announcement and shortly before the dedicated April 2 presentation—made the label understandable as contemporary commentary, not a confirmed fact.
Nintendo’s official archive lists later mixed-platform presentations, including a June 9, 2026 Direct covering games for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. So the March 2025 event was not the last Nintendo Direct to feature Switch games.

What to know about games shown for Switch
A game appearing in a presentation focused on Nintendo Switch does not, by itself, establish that it is exclusive to that system or unavailable on Switch 2. Nintendo’s later Switch 2 materials describe broad compatibility, but compatibility, enhancements and upgrade options can vary by game and region. Check the individual game’s official listing for its supported systems and local availability; do not assume that every title has a Switch 2 edition or upgrade path.
