Cancel Discord Nitro or Nitro Basic on the platform that originally billed you: Discord desktop/browser, Apple Subscriptions, or Google Play. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal while your Nitro benefits remain active until the current paid period ends.
The menu names can vary between app versions. Look for Subscriptions, Subscribe, Manage Nitro, or Manage Subscriptions.
Choose the billing platform first

The device you are using now does not determine the route; the original purchase platform does. Discord’s current instructions are at its Nitro cancellation guide.
Cancel Nitro on desktop or in a browser
- Open Discord’s desktop app or go to Discord.com and sign in to the account being charged.
- Select the cogwheel beside your username to open User Settings.
- Open Subscriptions. On some accounts this area is labeled Subscribe or appears as the Nitro subscription banner.
- Select Cancel on the Nitro or Nitro Basic banner. The control may be in the banner’s upper-right corner.
- Continue through Discord’s confirmation prompts until the cancellation is accepted.
- Return to the subscription page and check for Canceled, Pending cancellation, or an expiration date.
Discord documents the current path as User Settings → Subscriptions → Cancel, while its Nitro FAQ notes that labels can differ by client and account: Nitro and Nitro Basic terminology.

Cancel Nitro on iPhone or iPad
Apple-billed Nitro is managed by Apple, not by Discord’s desktop, browser, or Android controls.
- Open the iPhone or iPad Settings app.
- Tap your Apple Account (Apple ID) name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Discord.
- Tap Cancel Subscription (or the current equivalent) and confirm.
- Reopen the subscription screen to verify a cancellation status or expiration date.
Apple’s current device instructions are available at View or cancel subscriptions. Discord explains Apple-ID linking and platform limits in its iOS Purchases FAQ. If no cancellation control appears, contact Apple; Discord generally cannot cancel or refund an Apple-managed purchase.
Cancel Nitro on Android
Start in the Discord app
- Open Discord and tap your avatar in the bottom-right.
- Tap the cogwheel in the top-right for User Settings.
- Scroll to the Nitro area and open Manage Nitro or Manage Subscriptions.
- Tap Cancel. Discord redirects you to Google Play.
- In Google Play, choose Cancel subscription and complete the prompts.
Use Google Play directly
- Open Google Play and confirm that the correct Google Account is selected.
- Open Subscriptions and choose Discord.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the confirmation steps.
Google’s instructions are at Manage, cancel, or pause a subscription. Uninstalling Discord does not cancel Google Play billing. Discord’s Google Play flow is described in its Google Play Store Integration FAQ.

How to verify that cancellation worked
- Discord, Apple, or Google Play shows Canceled, Pending cancellation, or a definite expiration date.
- The subscription no longer shows a future renewal date or next-charge notice.
- Keep the confirmation email or take a screenshot of the status.
- Benefits remain available until the displayed end date; test verification before that date does not mean cancellation failed.
Discord’s service disclosures state that subscriptions generally remain active through the current billing cycle. Canceling does not delete your Discord account and does not automatically refund the period already paid.

Nitro or Nitro Basic normally continues until the end of the paid monthly or annual term, then the account loses the associated benefits. A yearly subscription generally remains active for the rest of its paid year. Platform- and location-specific rules can differ, including certain Google Play partial-refund provisions described at Google’s policy page.
Can you reactivate after canceling?
If the current period has not ended, Discord may show Re-Subscribe; selecting it reverses the pending cancellation. After expiration, you must purchase a new subscription. Labels can differ across desktop, iOS, and Android. See Discord’s cancellation article for the current behavior.

If the subscription is missing
- Discord: confirm you are signed into the Discord account that received the receipt. Check User Settings → Subscriptions or Subscribe; a canceled plan may show only an expiration date.
- Apple: check every Apple Account you may have used. An iOS purchase is tied to the Apple ID used for that purchase and cannot be managed from Android or Discord desktop.
- Google Play: switch through your Google Accounts and revisit Subscriptions. Google specifically says a missing subscription is often attached to a different account.
- Receipts and statements: identify the billing descriptor, purchase date, and whether the charge is Nitro, Nitro Basic, Server Boosts, a server subscription, or Premium Apps.
- Do not create another subscription just to test the account; that can create a second recurring charge.

If you were charged after canceling
- Confirm the original cancellation status and the date shown for expiration.
- Match the charge date and descriptor to the correct Discord account and billing platform.
- Check all Apple IDs and Google Accounts, plus any second Discord account.
- Determine whether the charge was for another recurring Discord product.
- Cancel any still-active subscription, then request a refund from the platform that processed the payment.
Cancellation stops future renewal; it does not itself reverse a completed charge.

Discord-billed purchases
For purchases handled directly by Discord, use Discord’s refund request process. Payment IDs for Discord-managed purchases are available in the desktop or browser Billing area. Eligibility depends on Discord’s policy and the purchase circumstances.

Apple-billed purchases
Request the refund from Apple. Discord’s iOS FAQ explains that Discord Support cannot generally refund an Apple-managed transaction.
Google Play purchases
Use Google Play’s refund process and keep the order identifier (often a GPA number) from the receipt. Google’s refund guidance says some requests made within 48 hours may be eligible for consideration, but that is not a guarantee for every Nitro charge; timing, country, purchase type, and policy matter.

For a desktop-, browser-, or Android-managed subscription, submit a Billing Support request at dis.gd/billing using the email address associated with the Discord account. Explain that you cannot log in or reach the cancellation controls and include relevant billing details. For an Apple-billed subscription, contact Apple instead.

Gifts, account credit, and switching platforms
Nitro gifts and subscription credit are not the same as cancellation. Discord says account credit is intended for desktop/browser subscriptions and generally cannot be applied to subscriptions managed through the iOS App Store or Google Play. Details are in the Nitro Gift FAQ and Subscription Credit FAQ.
If you switch from a desktop subscription to Google Play, Discord advises waiting for the original billing period to end before subscribing again. Its Google Play FAQ describes a possible Nitro-streak transfer when re-subscribing within seven days of desktop expiry; treat that as a platform-specific rule subject to change.
