To remove Kaspersky, first use the uninstall flow for the product and device you have; on Windows, start with the product’s Setup Wizard. Use kavremover only if standard Windows removal does not work and Kaspersky Customer Service recommends it, because the tool removes license information and settings as well as the application.
Before you begin, identify your operating system and the Kaspersky product name shown on the device. The instructions below reflect specific Kaspersky product documentation, so menu labels and available options can differ by product version.

Remove Kaspersky on Windows with the standard uninstall flow
The Windows steps below follow Kaspersky’s Win21.7 product help and may not match every Kaspersky release. In managed business environments, ask your administrator for help; organization policies and passwords can affect removal.
- Open Start, find the installed Kaspersky application, and right-click its shortcut.
- Choose Uninstall, select the Kaspersky entry in the app list, then choose Remove or Edit to launch the Setup Wizard. On some older Windows versions, Start may show a Remove Kaspersky shortcut.
- If an application settings password was configured, enter it. Kaspersky says removal cannot proceed without that password.
- Review the wizard’s options for retaining subscription details or application data. The choices may include settings, quarantine, iChecker data, anti-spam databases, and Secret Vault data. Retained subscription details may allow reactivation if the subscription has not expired. Quarantined files become unavailable after uninstall unless the Kaspersky application is installed again.
- Confirm removal and let the wizard finish. Restart the computer when prompted. If you postpone the restart, removal will not be complete until the operating system restarts or the computer is shut down and started again.
If Windows removal is incomplete: kavremover
Kaspersky describes kavremover as “a free tool for removing Kaspersky applications that cannot be removed completely using standard Windows tools.” Kaspersky also warns: “Do not use the kavremover tool unless recommended to do so by Kaspersky Customer Service engineers.” It is an escalation for failed standard removal, not the default uninstall method.

Before using it, save your activation code and export settings you may need. The tool removes license information and all application settings. Kaspersky recommends creating a restore point before making system changes. The tool is for Windows, does not support Windows XP, and cannot run silently or without a captcha. Check Kaspersky’s current supported-product list because coverage depends on the application and version.
Use kavremover when Kaspersky recommends it
- Download the executable from Kaspersky’s official kavremover support page.
- Create a restore point and save your activation code or export settings you want to keep.
- Run the tool, accept its license agreement, and enter the captcha.
- Select the installed Kaspersky application and remove it. Remove products one at a time if more than one is listed.
- Wait for the success confirmation and restart the computer.
If the tool has problems, Kaspersky suggests trying it in Safe Mode. Do not manually delete Kaspersky folders, registry keys, or drivers as a substitute for the documented removal methods.

Remove Kaspersky Internet Security 21.0 on macOS
These steps apply to Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac 21.0; they are not a universal path for every Kaspersky Mac product.
- Open Kaspersky Internet Security.
- Choose Help > Support > Uninstall, then confirm Uninstall.
- When asked, provide an administrator name and password.
- Quit the uninstaller when it finishes. Kaspersky’s instructions for this product version say a restart is not required.
Uninstalling this application does not automatically remove its Chrome and Firefox extensions. Remove those separately in the browser’s extension controls if you no longer want them.

Uninstall Kaspersky on Android
Kaspersky’s Android instructions recommend uninstalling through the app itself. The exact labels can vary with the app and Android version.
- Open the Kaspersky app and go to Settings > Settings > Uninstall the app.
- Tap Next. Enter the app’s secret code if requested, then confirm the uninstall.
- If Where Is My Device is enabled and Kaspersky is a device administrator, deactivate that administrator privilege in Android settings before removing the app through Android’s app list or Google Play.
A Kaspersky app preinstalled on a device may only be disable-able in system settings and may remain installed.

After removal: check browser extensions and restore protection
Check the relevant browser extension controls if your Kaspersky product installed browser extensions; the Mac 21.0 instructions specifically note that Chrome and Firefox extensions remain after uninstall. Avoid manually deleting system files or drivers. Kaspersky warns that after removal, your computer and personal data are unprotected, so plan how you will restore protection.
