Overview

Suno turns text prompts into complete songs in under a minute, with generated vocals and tools for editing and separating tracks. It suits creators who want a quick route from an idea to a song, especially those who may later work with stems or MIDI.

Its breadth is a strength, but free use is limited to personal experimentation: it brings no commercial rights or monthly song downloads, and subscription credits expire rather than roll over.

Key features

Prompt-based generation can produce a complete song quickly, while audio uploads let users start from existing material. The Free and Pro plans allow uploads of up to eight minutes; Premier raises that limit to 30 minutes. That makes Premier the better fit for longer source recordings, while the lower tiers can accommodate shorter inputs.

Vocal and instrument stem separation provides a way to work with parts of a generated track instead of only its finished mix. Premier adds three types of stem separation. Suno also supports multitrack editing and MIDI sequencing; Premier includes Suno Studio with MIDI, effects, and automation. Pro and Premier subscribers can create custom models from their own recordings, a useful option for creators seeking a more tailored workflow.

Exports include MP3 and WAV. The listed maximum track length is eight, and songs created as a paid subscriber can be used in videos, albums, and other projects. Suno also lets users share music with audiences ranging from close contacts to millions of fans.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per month and provides 50 credits per day, up to 10 songs per day without a credit card, and uploads of up to eight minutes. It is suitable for trying song creation, but it includes neither commercial rights nor monthly song downloads.

Pro costs 8.00 USD per month, with taxes calculated at checkout. It includes 2,500 credits and 20 song downloads per month, up to 10 songs at once, eight-minute uploads, and commercial use rights. It is the practical step up for creators who want to release work commercially, though its download allowance and credits constrain higher-volume use.

Premier costs 24.00 USD per month, with taxes calculated at checkout. It raises capacity to 10,000 credits and 60 downloads per month, keeps the limit of up to 10 songs at once, and allows 30-minute uploads. It also unlocks Suno Studio and three types of stem separation, making it the stronger choice for heavier production and longer source recordings.

Both paid plans are available at a 20% discount with annual billing. Credits included with a subscription do not carry over between days or months. Purchased top-up credits do not expire, but require an active subscription.

Platforms

Suno supports web and mobile use, with Android and iOS listed. Its web and mobile availability suits users who want to move between devices, although no other platform details are established.

Who it's for

Suno is best for songwriters and creators who want to turn prompts or audio into songs, then edit or separate the results. Free users can explore without a card, while Pro suits those needing commercial rights and a modest monthly download quota. Premier is aimed at users who need more credits, downloads, longer uploads, or its additional production tools. It is less suitable for someone who needs commercial rights without a subscription or wants unused subscription credits to accumulate.

Pros and cons

Pro: Complete songs can be generated from text prompts in under a minute, which supports rapid idea development.
Pro: Stem separation, multitrack editing, and MIDI sequencing extend the workflow beyond generation.
Pro: Pro and Premier include commercial use rights for songs made as a paid subscriber.
Con: The Free plan has no commercial rights or monthly song downloads, limiting it to personal exploration.
Con: Subscription credits expire instead of carrying over, so unused capacity cannot be saved for later.
Con: Pro limits downloads to 20 per month and uploads to eight minutes; higher allowances require Premier.

Verdict

Suno is a strong fit for creators who want prompt-driven songs alongside editing, stem separation, and a path to commercial use. Its main reason to choose Pro is commercial rights at 8.00 USD per month; choose Premier for longer uploads and greater monthly capacity. Look elsewhere if you need commercial use on a free plan or want subscription credits to roll forward.
