Overview

UjuziPlus brings course creation, assessments, certificates and reporting together with live classes and tools for managing cohorts. Organisations can use it for onboarding, skills development and compliance programmes; trainers can run a white-label academy under their own brand and domain. That makes it a stronger fit for teams managing an ongoing learning programme than for someone looking only to publish a few standalone lessons.

Mobile-first design and optimisation for low-bandwidth environments suit audiences with variable connectivity. Support for local and international payments, including M-Pesa, is useful for trainers selling courses to regional learners.

Key features

The AI and standard course builders, quizzes, assessments, learning paths and SCORM support cover both original material and packaged learning. Cohort scheduling, assignment workflows, community spaces and progress tracking provide structure around the lessons. Live classes with automatic recording support hybrid delivery, while integration with Zoom and common HR, ERP and productivity systems can help connect training to existing operations.

Compliance is a particular strength: programmes can include assessments, certificates and annual refreshes, with downloadable reports for audits and donor reporting. Real-time dashboards, learning analytics and progress tracking give managers a way to follow participation and completion. The stated security measures include encryption, secure servers, regular audits, restricted authorised access and continuous threat monitoring. Organisations with infrastructure, security or regulatory requirements can choose on-premise deployment, though that option is part of the custom-priced Institutional plan.

UjuziPlus is mobile-first, but its iOS and Android apps are coming soon. The platform lists Android and iOS support, yet readers who need dedicated mobile apps now should account for that gap rather than assume they are ready.

Pricing

The Creator plan is free to start and uses a UjuziPlus subdomain. It includes a course builder with quizzes, marketplace selling and basic learner reporting, capped at 100 learners. That is a practical way for a small trainer or pilot programme to begin, but the learner ceiling and basic reporting make it less suitable for a growing organisation.

Business costs 15000.00 KES per month, billed at Ksh 15,000 / Month. It raises capacity to 300 active learners and adds unlimited courses and lessons, a custom domain, role-based access, compliance tracking, management-ready reports and priority WhatsApp and email support. This is the clearest fit for an organisation that has outgrown Creator and needs operational reporting and access controls; teams exceeding 300 active learners will need to consider Institutional.

Institutional has custom annual pricing. It offers unlimited learners or custom tiers, full white-labeling, advanced analytics and audit trails, SSO, an SLA, and optional private cloud or on-premise deployment and AI knowledge assistant. It is aimed at larger or more regulated organisations that need those controls and deployment choices, rather than buyers seeking a published fixed price. UjuziPlus also advertises a 14-day trial; no renewal terms are stated.

Platforms

UjuziPlus supports web, Android, iOS, API and self-hosted deployment. Low-bandwidth optimisation benefits mobile audiences, but the forthcoming iOS and Android apps temper the appeal for learners who expect app-based access today.

Who it's for

The platform is designed for African corporates, SMEs, NGOs, universities, professional bodies and SACCOs. It is especially relevant when training must be tracked for compliance or when a trainer needs a branded academy and regional payment options. A small provider can start free, while organisations with larger learner populations, advanced reporting or deployment requirements should weigh the paid tiers. It is less compelling for buyers who need ready-to-use mobile apps or a clear fixed cost for enterprise-scale use.

Pros and cons

Pros: Compliance assessments, certificates, annual refreshes and downloadable audit and donor reports support organisations with evidence and reporting obligations.
Pros: Course building, SCORM, live sessions, cohorts, assignments and community spaces cover multiple parts of programme delivery in one platform.
Pros: M-Pesa and other local and international payment support help trainers selling to regional audiences.
Cons: Creator is capped at 100 learners, and Business at 300 active learners, so larger programmes must move to custom-priced Institutional.
Cons: iOS and Android apps are coming soon, limiting the case for buyers who require dedicated mobile apps now.

Alternatives

For a different cohort-course option, browse Cohort-Based Course Platforms.

Cohorta may suit a seller prioritising a free entry tier: it allows one product, 50 learners and 500 email messages monthly, with a 10% sales commission; its Starter plan costs 299.00 PLN per month and reduces that commission to 5%.
Nialtus is an alternative for a very small launch, with a free plan capped at 10 active learners, five courses, 1 GB storage, one language and one admin. Its Launch plan is 74.00 USD per month for the first month, then 149 USD /month.
Sublime LMS offers a free sandbox for up to 50 active learners, two published courses, one admin or instructor, and 100 emails monthly, with limited video and storage; consider it for a bounded pilot rather than UjuziPlus’s broader organisational workflows.
Learnify is another option, though its listed Learnify Perks+ plan focuses on ad-free 1080p viewing and stream access rather than organisational LMS needs.
NovoEd is an alternative paid talent-development platform with custom-solution pricing.
Pathwright may suit a course operator seeking cohort limits and published pricing: Starter is 99.00 USD per month, or 89.00 USD monthly when billed annually, for up to 1,000 members, one administrator and one cohort per course.
Academy Launcher is a paid alternative with a free trial.
Cahoot Learning Portal is another paid alternative.

Verdict

UjuziPlus is a strong choice for African organisations that need to deliver structured training and demonstrate compliance, or trainers who want a branded academy with regional payment support. Its combination of course tools, reporting and deployment options is the main reason to choose it. Look elsewhere if dedicated mobile apps are essential now, or if you need enterprise capacity at a published price.
