Overview

Red Center brings live MRR, churn, trial and cohort reporting together with segments by country, store and plan. Retention-flow and save attribution help teams relate interventions to subscriber outcomes, while cohort analysis and unit-economics measures make the product useful beyond monitoring failed payments.

RedChurn reads subscription events and provider webhooks without changing products, prices or subscriptions. That separation can suit teams that want to add recovery workflows without shifting their existing subscription setup. Billing data is its stated data source, so its value depends on having subscription events to work with.

Key features

Recovery and retention flows

For billing problems, RedChurn detects issues through webhooks and can send dunning emails or show an in-app card-update prompt the next time a subscriber opens the app. That gives a service a route to prompt action without relying on email alone, though the in-app prompt depends on the subscriber returning to the app.

Cancellation-save flows use native iOS and Android screens, with email follow-ups within 48 hours. For trial cancellations, RedChurn can send reminders three and one days before the trial ends and present an in-app save flow when a user taps to cancel. After expiry, multi-step email sequences and in-app prompts on return visits can support win-back, with reactivation tracked in Red Center. These options cover several points in the subscription lifecycle, but teams should match them to the flow support of their integration.

Integrations and delivery

RevenueCat supports email and in-app flows; Superwall and Polar support email. A team using Superwall or Polar should therefore expect narrower flow options than a RevenueCat user. Emails can be sent from the customer’s domain through Resend, and push uses the customer’s FCM and APNs credentials. The optional SDK is under 200 KB, and setup can begin without an app release, which may help teams start integration work before shipping an app update.

RedChurn says its cancellation flows use Apple and Google native flows and comply with their store requirements. That is relevant for teams using those app stores, since save screens are designed around their native mechanisms rather than a replacement billing flow.

Pricing

Starter costs 0.00 USD per free, billed monthly. It covers up to 50 active subscribers, one app and 30 days of retention history. That is a meaningful way for a very small app to start tracking and trying retention workflows, but the subscriber ceiling and short history make it a limited fit once an audience grows or longer-term analysis matters. App install attribution is marked as coming soon.

Growth is available from 500 subscribers and includes unlimited apps and three years of retention history. The longer history and app allowance are better suited to teams managing multiple apps or needing a broader view of retention over time. Growth has custom pricing; Starter's published terms do not establish what happens between 50 and 500 subscribers.

Platforms

RedChurn supports Android, iOS, web and API. The native cancellation flows are specifically described for iOS and Android, while its reporting and integrations extend beyond the app clients themselves.

Who it's for

RedChurn is a good fit for mobile subscription teams that want metrics and recovery actions in one service, especially those on RevenueCat who can use both email and in-app flows. It is less compelling for teams whose chosen integration supports only email, or for services that have outgrown Starter but need a known Growth price before committing.

Pros and cons

Pros: Subscription metrics include cohorts, churn, retention and unit economics, with segments and save attribution that connect reporting to interventions.
Pros: Billing recovery, trial reminders, cancellation saves and win-back address multiple stages where subscribers may be lost.
Pros: Starter is free up to 50 active subscribers and includes one app, giving a small app a way to begin without a paid plan.
Cons: Starter's 50-subscriber cap and 30-day history constrain its usefulness as a product scales or needs longer comparisons.
Cons: Superwall and Polar support email flows only, limiting the in-app retention options available through those integrations.
Cons: Growth begins at 500 subscribers and has custom pricing, which leaves the transition beyond Starter less predictable for a buyer.

Alternatives

Browse Subscription Analytics Software for more options in the category. Kometrics is worth considering for teams seeking a free analytics plan while tracked MRR stays under $1,000, with every feature included. GrowPanel offers a free plan up to $200k ARR with one data connector, unlimited users, all reports and a REST API, making it a distinct option for teams prioritizing those reporting terms.

MRR.AI may suit a web-focused team that wants a free Stripe dashboard with 30-day metrics history and core MRR, ARR and churn reporting. ProfitWell Metrics is an alternative for teams seeking free subscription analytics across API and web, with data updates every 3–6 hours. SimpleSubscription is oriented to web use and includes a free plan for up to 100 active subscribers with a subscribe widget, customer portal, failed-payment recovery and analytics.

ChartMogul offers a free plan under $120K ARR and a Pro plan with unlimited team members and five billing sources, which may appeal to teams comparing ARR-based plan thresholds and billing-source capacity. CashSDK Revenue Analytics supports Android, iOS, macOS, API and web, and its Standard plan starts at 25.00 USD per month with the first $5,000 of monthly tracked revenue included before a 0.5% charge on tracked revenue. Qonversion is another option for mobile teams: its Pro plan is free at or below $7,000 MTR and priced at 0.80 USD per month based on Monthly Tracked Revenue above that threshold.

Verdict

Choose RedChurn if you run a mobile subscription app and want subscription analytics joined to billing recovery, cancellation saves and win-back flows, particularly through RevenueCat. Look elsewhere if you need broader in-app flow support on Superwall or Polar, or want a published Growth price before moving beyond Starter.
