Overview

Quizgecko converts students’ notes, PDFs, slides, or text into study materials, including conversational audio guides. It is best suited to learners who want to revise from their own course content in more than one format. It is less suitable for anyone who needs to publish generated podcasts outside the service.

Key features

One set of source material can produce podcasts, quizzes, flashcards, and study notes. That gives students a practical way to move between listening and active recall without preparing separate inputs for each format. Quizgecko says its podcast content is grounded in uploaded notes, which helps keep the audio focused on the material being studied.

Quizzes use mixed question types and include answer explanations, so practice can offer more than a score alone. ChatGPT connection through OAuth lets users create or edit learning content from ChatGPT. Organization plans can export quizzes for learning-management systems in formats including Aiken, CSV, and QTI, which makes those plans more relevant to educators and teams than individual students.

Podcasts are for private study within Quizgecko and cannot be published to Spotify. Paid plans can keep them available offline in the mobile app, but that does not remove the private-use restriction. The support centre provides help articles and AI support for troubleshooting and questions.

Pricing

Quizgecko uses a freemium model. The Free plan is free and includes a first course, but is described as limited; it is a sensible way to see whether the workflow suits a learner before paying. A 3-day free trial is offered for the podcast generator, and starting it requires a valid payment method.

Plus is shown at $9/month equivalent and includes AI quizzes, flashcards, and podcasts. It suits an individual who wants those generation features, including podcast access, beyond the limited free plan. The trial lasts only three days, so it offers a short evaluation window rather than an extended course-cycle test.

Organization plans have custom pricing and add quiz exports for LMS platforms. They are the more fitting option for teams or teachers who need those export formats; individual learners do not need to pay for an organization plan solely to revise. The published plan details do not establish seat or generation quotas, so those should not be assumed.

Platforms

Quizgecko runs on the web and has iOS and Android apps. Accounts sync between the apps and website, letting learners move between devices. Paid plans can keep podcasts available offline in the mobile app, a useful distinction for studying without a reliable connection.

Who it's for

Quizgecko is aimed at students, teachers, and teams. Students preparing for demanding courses or high-stakes exams may value turning their own materials into both audio and practice questions. Teachers and teams have a stronger case when they need LMS exports. It is a weaker fit for podcast creators seeking public distribution, or for people who only need a simple PDF-to-quiz tool.

Pros and cons

Pro: Multiple study formats can be generated from the same source, reducing the need to prepare separate materials for listening and quiz practice.
Pro: Synced web and mobile accounts, plus offline podcast access on paid plans, support study across devices and away from a connection.
Pro: Mixed quiz questions, answer explanations, and LMS export formats give students and organizations distinct ways to use generated content.
Con: Podcasts cannot be published to Spotify, limiting the audio feature to private study within Quizgecko.
Con: Starting the three-day podcast trial requires a payment method, which makes it less convenient for people who want to evaluate the feature without providing payment details.
Con: The Free plan is limited, while the trial is brief; users should not expect either to support sustained use of all formats.

Alternatives

Choose Quizbot if you want a free quiz-generation allowance with explicit monthly and source limits: its Free plan includes 50 questions per month, one notebook, up to two sources, and 10 questions per batch. PDFQuiz is a better fit when document-based quiz creation is the priority and its stated free allowance—three account quizzes of 10 questions each, up to 20 pages per quiz—covers the need. For live sessions with participants, QuizFlight has a free first session for up to 20 participants, then up to five, and does not require a credit card.

PDFNoob is an alternative for free PDF work across desktop and mobile platforms. BrushUpIQ may suit someone who wants a web-based quiz generator with a defined free allowance of five generations per month and multiple-choice quizzes. IntelliAssess is another web option with a free plan capped at 25 students and model-specific question allowances. Questgen offers a free Basic plan with 20 runs, while its Pro plan is $15.00 USD per month for unlimited runs subject to fair use. QuizCraft is a web alternative with three free quiz generations per month and no free trial. For more options, see AI Quiz Generators and AI Study Tools.

Verdict

Quizgecko is a good choice for students who want to turn existing study materials into audio, quizzes, flashcards, and notes, then continue on synced mobile or web devices. Its core advantage is the range of formats built from one source. Look elsewhere if public podcast distribution is essential, or if the payment-method requirement and short trial make the subscription difficult to evaluate.
