Overview

OnStage brings event preparation, team assignments, song materials, and conversations together. That breadth is useful for churches that otherwise coordinate these pieces separately; teams looking only for a presentation tool may not need the full planning workflow.

The company says the product was conceived in 2023 and released in February 2025. It is headquartered in Santandrei, Romania. Antonio Vinter is CEO and Co-Founder; Emima Vinter, Emanuel Farcău, and Beniamin Szilagyi are also named as co-founders.

Key features

Events and team assignments

Teams can create events and rehearsals, build setlists, schedule people into positions, and use event templates. Volunteer scheduling, participant assignments, a service calendar, reminders, and team notifications support the coordination around each service. Templates can reduce repeated setup, while the value of this feature set depends on needing both event planning and people scheduling in the same service.

Song preparation and communication

The song library supports chords, lyrics, song structures, PDF imports, annotations, key changes, and capo settings. That combination gives teams room to prepare songs and record performance notes alongside service planning. Team and event chats support messages, attachments, polls, replies, and read receipts, keeping event-specific conversations in the same service.

Calendar and offline use

OnStage can sync events, rehearsals, and blockouts to Google Calendar. Sync works on iPhone, iPad, and Android, so it is useful to mobile teams managing availability around a shared calendar. The app supports offline access for rehearsals and services, which helps when a team cannot rely on connectivity at the venue.

Pricing

Starter is free indefinitely, requires no card details, and supports up to 5 members, 200MB of storage, and 5 events per month. It includes reminders, chat, annotations, and PDF song imports. That is a meaningful way for a small team to begin, but the event quota and storage ceiling can constrain a church with frequent services or a growing library.

Paid plans share the same features and differ by member and storage limits. Monthly prices are 10.00 USD per month for 20 Members (2GB storage, 25 events per month), 26.00 USD per month for 50 Members (4GB, 100 events), 50.00 USD per month for 85 Members (8GB, 150 events), and 60.00 USD per month for 150 Members (11GB, 200 events). The 150-member tier costs only 10.00 USD per month more than the 85-member tier and adds 65 members, 3GB, and 50 monthly events, making it the stronger fit if a team expects to outgrow the smaller quota.

Larger teams can choose 400 Members at 100.00 USD per month (32GB and 400 events per month) or 1000 Members at 135.00 USD per month (64GB and unlimited events). Paid plans are also available with yearly billing at 15% off. The available paid sizes span 20 to 1000 members; a church should match its choice to both headcount and monthly event volume, not just the member limit.

Platforms

OnStage is available on Android, iOS, macOS, and the web. Google Calendar sync is available on iPhone, iPad, and Android. This range suits teams using a mix of mobile and desktop access, while calendar synchronization is specifically tied to mobile devices.

Who it's for

OnStage is best suited to churches that need recurring service and rehearsal planning, volunteer assignments, song preparation, and team communication together. Starter is a sensible fit for a group with no more than 5 members and 5 events monthly. Larger or more active teams should weigh the paid tiers by their event quota and storage as well as their member count. It is a less compelling choice for a church that only needs a free presentation tool or wants its entire service workflow covered within a very small free plan.

Pros and cons

Pros

Planning and preparation share one workflow: events, assignments, setlists, song notes, and chats can be coordinated together.
Useful song detail: chords, lyrics, structures, annotations, key changes, capo settings, and PDF imports cover more than a basic song list.
Starter has no expiry or card requirement: small teams can continue using it without a trial deadline, within the 5-member, 200MB, and 5-event caps.
Paid capacity scales substantially: the top tier supports 1000 members, 64GB, and unlimited events.

Cons

Starter's caps are tight for active teams: five monthly events and 200MB leave little room for growth.
Calendar sync is limited by platform: it is available on iPhone, iPad, and Android, rather than being stated for every platform.
Choosing a tier requires forecasting: event quotas and storage vary with each size, so a growing team may need to move up even if its member count still fits.

Alternatives

WorshipTools Presenter is worth considering for teams focused on service presentation: its free plan supports 10 users, 500 MB of cloud storage, 15 items per service, and unlimited services and songs, across Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, and Windows. OnStage is the broader fit when event planning, assignments, and team chats are central.

Planning Center may suit churches that prefer separate free tools for distinct needs: its Calendar plan includes 1 room, People includes an unlimited database and reporting, and Services includes 5 team members. OnStage instead brings planning, songs, and conversations into one service.

AssemblyFlow offers a free full app for congregations of 50 or fewer members, limited to the main worship assembly and one operator. It may fit a smaller congregation seeking that defined free setup; OnStage offers more member capacity on paid plans and supports multiple service-planning tasks together.

Ministry Planner provides free tools, with one free tool per church account; its scheduling tool supports one team and up to 1,000 volunteers, while event planning covers one active event and up to 1,000 people. It is a reasonable alternative for a church that can work within a single free tool at a time.

ServeFlow: Worship Planner is a free option for iPhone and iPad users who want an English-language app. Assemblea, EcclesiaFlow, and ChurchRaise are also alternatives.

Verdict

Choose OnStage if your church wants service planning, volunteer assignments, song preparation, and team communication in one place, with paid capacity that can grow to 1000 members. Its strongest reason to look elsewhere is the Starter ceiling: teams with more than 5 members, more than 5 monthly events, or greater storage needs must move to a paid tier, and the right size depends on how quickly those limits are reached.
