Overview

Smart Mix shortens tracks, creates seamless transitions and queues songs according to how they fit together. Offtrack can also recommend music that matches a listener’s taste and add it to a mix. That combination suits people who want an assembled listening session rather than control over every transition. Beat matching, automated mixing and AI track selection are part of the product’s focus.

Key features

Mixes, highlights and discovery

Highlight Mode trims songs to their highlights, with iOS users able to adjust track length in Highlight Preferences. Smart Mix and Smart Queue are unlimited on both plans, while Free limits Highlight Mode plays. That is a meaningful distinction: Free can support regular automated mixes, but listeners who want shortened tracks throughout their sessions will need Pro. Discovery can add recommended tracks to a mix, helping a session move beyond a listener’s existing queue.

Sources and playback controls

On iOS, Offtrack supports Spotify Premium, Apple Music, TIDAL, SoundCloud Free, local music and CarPlay. The service catalogues differ: Spotify Premium and Apple Music are partial, while TIDAL has its full catalogue; SoundCloud Go+ tracks are unavailable. iOS users can edit the queue, save mixes as playlists, sort tracks by BPM or energy, and filter explicit songs. Those controls make iOS the stronger fit for listeners who want to shape an automatic mix without assembling it track by track.

Android supports Spotify Premium and SoundCloud Free, but not offline playback, EQ, saved transition points or saved mix order. That narrower control set is a drawback for listeners who want to refine or preserve a mix. Offtrack also supports compatible macOS devices, including MacBooks introduced from 2020 onward, but is not available on Windows.

Pricing

Offtrack is freemium, with a free trial also offered. Offtrack Free costs 0.00 USD per free and includes unlimited Smart Mix and Smart Queue, limited Highlight Mode plays, and discovery of up to 300% new songs. It is the sensible starting point for anyone chiefly interested in automated mixing, but the highlight-play cap limits its usefulness for a regular highlight-based listening habit.

Offtrack Pro costs 4.99 USD per month, billed at $4.99/month. It keeps unlimited Smart Mix and Smart Queue and raises Highlight Mode plays to unlimited, while discovery remains up to 300% new songs. Pro is the clear choice for frequent Highlight Mode use; listeners who mainly want the automated queue can stay on Free. No seat or quota limits are stated beyond the free plan’s highlight cap and discovery amount.

Platforms

Offtrack is available on Android, iOS and macOS, with different service and playback support across platforms. iOS has the broadest stated set of music sources and queue controls. Android has a shorter service list and lacks several playback features. On macOS, compatibility includes MacBooks introduced from 2020 onward; Windows is not supported. The app processes music data on the user’s device and says it does not keep personal data in a server database, though app stores and Google Analytics collect usage information.

Who it's for

Offtrack is a good fit for listeners who want an automatically arranged, shortened music session and already use a supported service. iOS users get the strongest combination of sources and queue controls, while Android users should be comfortable without offline playback, EQ and saved mix settings.

Pros and cons

Pro: Smart Mix and Smart Queue are unlimited on Free, so the core automated session-building does not require a subscription.
Pro: iOS supports several music sources and lets listeners edit, sort and save mixes, giving them useful control over an automated queue.
Pro: Pro removes the Highlight Mode play limit for 4.99 USD per month.
Con: Spotify Premium and Apple Music have partial catalogues in Offtrack, and SoundCloud Go+ tracks are unavailable.
Con: Android lacks offline playback, EQ and saved transition points or mix order.
Con: There is no Windows version, and macOS compatibility is limited to qualifying newer MacBooks.

Alternatives

AI DJ Software is the broader category to compare if Offtrack’s service or platform limits do not fit. Choose CortexDJ instead if you want a free home-use option for up to two computers with analysis, AI auto-mix, mashups, live decks, rendered mixes and exports to rekordbox and Serato. CRATELAB is an alternative for Linux or web users seeking cloud-library browsing and streaming playback on its free tier.

Consider djay if you want a free-download mixing app across Android, iOS, macOS and Windows, with advanced features available through an optional PRO subscription. SetPrep is another option for Mac or Windows: its free plan allows three mixes per month, while Pro Monthly is 5.99 GBP per month for unlimited mixes. For web-based exports, AuraJam offers five daily exports on Free, with a small mark, and unmetered on-device tools; Pro is 9.99 USD per month.

automixer.ai may suit web users who prefer a project-based workflow: Free allows three projects, six tracks per project and five monthly exports, while Pro is 14.99 USD per month. Mixbridge is a free alternative for iOS or web users. For macOS crate preparation, MIXX Intelligence offers a free Prepare plan for importing and analysing a music collection.

Verdict

Its unlimited free Smart Mix makes it easy to start, and Pro is reasonably focused on removing the highlight-play cap. Look elsewhere if you need Windows, more complete Android controls or a service catalogue that includes SoundCloud Go+ tracks.
