Overview

Shiken combines meeting capture, AI coaching, content creation, and learning delivery in one service. It is best suited to creators, coaches, and business teams that want to turn workplace material into practice and training. Its breadth is the main draw, but the free plan sharply limits AI use and paid creator plans are billed annually.

Key features

Shiken records meetings with or without a bot and can also take in documents, PDFs, YouTube links, and web pages. It can use those materials to create summaries, roleplays, proposals, slide decks, courses, and quiz questions. That makes it more useful for building follow-up learning from existing material than for people who only need a meeting recorder. On the free plan, the small AI quotas make regular content production difficult.

Roleplays use lifelike characters, rubric-based scoring, and more than 40 languages. AI call analysis, coaching scorecards, development plans, and manager dashboards give sales, leadership, and L&D teams tools for structured practice and follow-up. Individual learners may find this broader coaching and training setup unnecessary if they only want a study aid.

Shiken connects to more than 3,200 apps, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics 365, Zoom, Google Meet, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. A public API and webhooks offer further integration options. For learning systems, it supports LTI 1.3 connections, SCORM export, and xAPI completion reporting. Shiken states that it is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant, and that it does not train third-party models on identifiable customer content or learner data. Enterprise controls include SSO/SAML, SCIM provisioning, role-based access, and regional data residency options.

Pricing

Plan	Price and terms	What it includes
Free	£0.00, free forever; no card or time limit	Unlimited recording and transcription, 30-day history, 5 AI summaries per month, 10 roleplay turns, 10 AI chats, and 5 AI notes
Solo Creator	£99.00 per month, annual billing	500 enrolled learners
Creator Team	£299.00 per month, annual billing	2 admins, 5 communities, and 2,500 learners; extra admins cost separately
Enterprise	Custom pricing	SSO/SAML, SCORM, a dedicated customer success manager, advanced analytics, and enterprise security controls

The free tier is a capable way to record and transcribe without a time limit, but its monthly AI allowances are modest. Solo Creator suits a creator serving up to 500 enrolled learners; Creator Team raises that ceiling to 2,500 and adds admin and community capacity, though additional admins cost extra. Both creator prices are monthly amounts on annual billing, so they are not month-to-month rates. The creator trial lasts 7 days, requires a work email and card on file, and caps trial accounts at 5 enrolled learners with no public payout. Enterprise is the option for organizations needing its listed controls and support.

Platforms

Shiken has native iOS and Android apps and is accessible through its online platform. It also offers an API, which may suit teams integrating it into their own workflows.

Who it's for

Shiken describes use cases for individual learners, creators and coaches, and businesses, including sales, leadership, and L&D teams. It is a stronger fit when meeting capture, practice, content creation, and learning delivery belong in the same workflow. It is less suitable for buyers seeking only one of those functions or who need generous AI creation allowances without moving beyond the free plan.

Pros and cons

Pro: One service can turn meeting recordings and other source material into learning content, roleplay, and quizzes, reducing the need to move that material between separate tools.
Pro: More than 3,200 integrations, LMS standards support, an API, and webhooks give teams several ways to connect Shiken to existing systems.
Pro: Rubric-scored roleplay in more than 40 languages, alongside coaching and manager tools, suits structured team practice across varied markets.
Con: The free plan limits AI summaries, roleplay turns, chats, and notes, despite unlimited recording and transcription.
Con: Creator plans use annual billing, and the 7-day trial requires a card while limiting enrollment and excluding public payout.
Con: Extra admins on Creator Team are charged separately, so the headline plan price does not cover every team configuration.

Verdict

Choose Shiken if you want one platform for meeting capture, AI-generated learning materials, roleplay, and team coaching, especially when integrations and LMS connections matter. Its free tier is useful for recording and transcription, but the tight AI quotas and annual billing on paid creator plans make it a poor fit for buyers who need frequent generation or flexible monthly costs.
