Overview

Mixmax is a sales engagement platform built around Gmail and Outlook, best suited to revenue teams coordinating outreach, meetings, and CRM activity. Its strongest case is the way it links sequences, tracking, and CRM workflows; its narrow email-provider support and recipient caps make fit worth checking.

Work happens in a Chrome extension for Gmail, an Outlook add-in, and a web dashboard for sequences, reports, and workspace settings. The extension requires Chrome, and Mixmax does not support Apple Mail, Yahoo, or other email providers.

Key features

Sequences combine follow-up emails, tasks, and scheduled calls, with merge-variable personalization and CSV uploads. That gives teams a structured way to manage outreach rather than just send one-off tracked messages. Mixmax also supports multichannel outreach and reply detection. A user may be limited to 1,000 sent emails per day to avoid Google or Microsoft rate limits, so high-volume senders should account for that ceiling.

Real-time open and click tracking with desktop notifications gives sellers engagement signals. Paid plans include unlimited email tracking, while the free plan caps tracking at 20 emails a month. Scheduling links let recipients choose a time and add the meeting to both calendars, reducing the back-and-forth of arranging calls.

Mixmax automatically syncs emails, meetings, and sequence activity to Salesforce or HubSpot. Rules can also create Salesforce tasks after an email is opened or add recipients to sequences when deal stages change. More than 40 native integrations are included on every plan, which makes the free tier less isolated from connected tools than its tight usage caps might suggest.

Mixmax states that it is SOC 2 Type II certified, HIPAA compliant, GDPR and CPRA compliant, and audited by Google. It encrypts data at rest with AES-256-GCM and in transit with TLS 1.2 or higher. Support includes a Help Center, support messenger, email support, and Maxine, an AI assistant available 24/7 in the web app.

Pricing

Mixmax is freemium, with paid plans starting at $29/user/mo on annual billing and a 14-day trial. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and allows 20 tracked emails a month and up to 50 sequence recipients a month. It is a useful way to try the workflow, but the tracking and recipient limits are restrictive for ongoing team outreach.

Inbox Copilot costs 29.00 USD per month billed annually, or $34/mo monthly. It raises tracking to unlimited and allows up to 100 sequence recipients a month. This suits users who need reliable tracking but run small sequences; the recipient cap is a clear constraint for broader prospecting.

Engagement Copilot costs 49.00 USD per month billed annually, or $65/mo monthly. It keeps unlimited tracking and raises the sequence allowance to 1,500 recipients a month, making it the more practical choice for regular outreach programs. Mixmax Suite costs 89.00 USD per month billed annually, or $105/mo monthly, with the same 1,500-recipient allowance plus 200 post-meeting summaries a month. Suite is a better fit when those summaries matter; otherwise, its higher price does not raise the listed sequence cap.

Meeting Copilot has custom pricing and is included in Suite; it allows up to 100 sequence recipients a month and 200 post-meeting summaries a month. Mixmax for Teams also has custom pricing, with unlimited sequences and up to 3,000 sequence recipients a month. Those higher-volume teams should compare the custom offer with their expected use before committing.

Platforms

Mixmax supports API, extension, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows platforms, but its email workflow is specifically limited to Gmail and Outlook. Gmail users need Chrome for the extension. Platform breadth does not make it a fit for Apple Mail, Yahoo, or other providers.

Who it's for

Mixmax is strongest for sales and revenue teams already working in Gmail or Outlook who want sequences, engagement tracking, scheduling, and Salesforce or HubSpot activity connected in one workflow. Solo sellers and smaller teams can start free, but the 20 tracked emails and 50 sequence recipients per month make that plan a trial ground more than a durable outreach setup. Teams sending at higher volume should weigh recipient allowances and the possible daily sending limit before choosing a plan.

Pros and cons

Pros: Sequences combine emails, tasks, and calls, with merge variables and CSV uploads, supporting repeatable outreach rather than isolated follow-ups.
Pros: Automatic Salesforce and HubSpot sync, plus workflow rules, can connect engagement to CRM records and actions.
Pros: More than 40 native integrations are included on every plan, including Free.
Cons: Gmail users must use Chrome, and Apple Mail, Yahoo, and other providers are unsupported.
Cons: Free tracking and recipient quotas are low for sustained outreach; even Inbox Copilot limits sequences to 100 recipients monthly.
Cons: A 1,000-email daily limit may constrain users whose campaigns need more sending capacity.

Alternatives

Choose Growbots if you want a free plan with 20 email accounts, three sequences, and up to 20 emails per inbox per day, alongside partial access to a 180M+ prospect database. Its free sending cap is more explicit, while Mixmax centers its workflow on Gmail or Outlook and CRM sync.

Mystrika is another freemium option, with a Free Forever plan that includes 500 Prospect Slots.

Outplay may suit teams that want a free allowance of one user, two mailboxes, and 2,000 active prospects a month; Mixmax instead emphasizes inbox-integrated sequences and CRM syncing.

Regie.ai offers 250 one-time, non-expiring credits per person, shared by up to 10 people, for research, enrichment, drafting, and agents. Choose it when that credit-based scope is the better match.

Snov.io is an alternative with a Trial plan that includes 50 credits, 100 recipients, and one email warm-up slot.

Woodpecker is another option for readers comparing paid outreach software.

Yesware may fit users who need basic open and attachment tracking, a 10-recipient campaign allowance, and a meeting scheduler on its free plan.

Warmbly is another freemium web-based alternative.

Verdict

Choose Mixmax if your revenue team works in Gmail or Outlook and needs outreach sequences tied to tracking, scheduling, and Salesforce or HubSpot activity. The integrated workflow and broad included integrations are its clearest strengths. Look elsewhere if you rely on another email provider, need more sequence recipients than your plan allows, or cannot work within the possible 1,000-email daily limit.
