Overview

SecureTempMail creates temporary inboxes without requiring signup, for people who need an address for a registration, download or brief verification. Its appeal is the mix of surfaced login codes and several ways to use the service; its receive-only design and lack of delivery or retention guarantees make it unsuitable for mail you may need to rely on later.

You can set an inbox to expire from 10 minutes to 24 hours, after which its messages are deleted. That makes the service a practical buffer for one-off tasks, but not a substitute for an account email address: SecureTempMail cannot send mail, and it does not guarantee delivery, accuracy or retention.

Key features

Disposable inboxes and OTP handling

Inbox creation without signup keeps the process brief, while configurable expiry lets you choose between a quick verification window and the full 24 hours. Automatic detection brings verification and login codes forward for one-tap copying, a useful convenience when the only reason to open an inbox is to complete a sign-up. The short lifespan is also a firm limit: do not use an address for accounts that may need later password-reset or follow-up messages.

Safer message viewing and privacy

Incoming HTML is displayed in a sandbox with scripts disabled, intended to block tracking pixels and malicious markup. The Trust Center says inbound mail uses TLS and opportunistic STARTTLS. SecureTempMail also says it does not associate IP addresses with inbox activity or build advertising profiles, and that inboxes and messages are removed at expiry. These are meaningful protections for disposable use, but they do not override the service's no-guarantee terms.

Extension, desktop and API

The Chrome extension adds per-site aliases, one-click autofill, OTP notifications and a side-panel inbox. That makes it the strongest fit for people who repeatedly use temporary addresses in browser sign-up flows. Desktop apps are offered for Windows, Apple Silicon Macs and Linux; Intel Macs are not supported yet. Developers can create and delete inboxes, read messages and receive real-time webhooks through the API, with 100k requests per month on the Developer plan.

SecureTempMail supports attachments, and Premium includes attachment downloads. Support has separate contact addresses for general, security and privacy, and API or partnership inquiries.

Pricing

The Free plan is billed $0/year and includes unlimited disposable inboxes, up to 24-hour lifetimes and four rotating domains, with ads. It is enough for occasional registrations and short-lived verifications, but the rotating domains and ad-supported experience are the trade-offs.

Premium costs 39.00 USD per year, billed $39/year. It adds retention of up to 30 days, premium private domains, attachment downloads, no ads, inbox history and search, and priority delivery. It suits users who need to revisit messages or download attachments; it still does not come with a guarantee of delivery, accuracy or retention.

Developer costs 190.00 USD per year, billed $190/year. It includes 100k API requests per month, catch-all domains, REST API access with webhooks, and an email support SLA. This is the relevant tier for automated testing or integrations; it is difficult to justify for personal, occasional inbox use. No seat allowance or overage terms are stated in the plan.

Platforms

SecureTempMail is available on the web, through a Chrome extension and as a desktop app for Windows, Apple Silicon Macs and Linux. Its API also supports programmatic use. Intel Mac users do not have a desktop app option.

Who it's for

It fits people handling disposable sign-ups, one-time purchases, content downloads, gaming and forum registrations, as well as teams creating vendor accounts and developers running QA or end-to-end tests. The extension and OTP copying help with repeated browser workflows; the API and monthly request quota serve automation. Anyone who needs to send email, depend on delivery, or retain messages beyond the plan's window should choose a different kind of mailbox.

Pros and cons

Pros: No signup is required to create inboxes, and expiry can be set from 10 minutes to 24 hours.
Pros: OTP detection and one-tap copying streamline verification, while the sandboxed HTML view disables scripts.
Pros: The Chrome extension, desktop apps and API cover browser, desktop and automated workflows.
Cons: It is receive-only, so temporary addresses cannot reply or send.
Cons: Inbox and message availability is not guaranteed, making the service a poor choice for important or recurring correspondence.
Cons: The free plan has ads and four rotating domains; the desktop app does not support Intel Macs.

Mohmal is a web-only freemium option. Choose it if you prefer a browser-only service; its listed plans include a free tier and a Standard plan at 4.99 USD per month.
NowTempMail offers web, API and extension access; its free temporary inbox lasts 24 hours and supports up to 50 messages of up to 10 MB each. Choose it if those explicit message limits suit your use.
TempMaily provides web and API access. Choose it if that platform combination is a better fit.

Verdict

SecureTempMail is a good fit for people who want disposable addresses with quick OTP handling, especially those using the Chrome extension or automating inbox workflows through the API. Its flexible expiry and optional longer Premium retention add useful control. Look elsewhere for sending, dependable delivery, or a mailbox you need to keep: SecureTempMail explicitly offers no delivery, accuracy or retention guarantee.
