Overview

Teamup is a cloud-based calendar for teams coordinating schedules, resources, and operations. It is best suited to groups that need multiple shared calendars and fine-grained access, rather than people looking for a personal planner. Its flexibility is a strong fit for collaborative scheduling, though user caps and cloud-only hosting matter for larger or self-hosting teams.

Key features

Views and event details

Twelve calendar views, including year and table views, let teams choose how to scan a schedule; time blocking supports organizing work into calendar slots. Events can include custom fields, images, and attachments, and individual events can be shared as standalone pages. These tools suit bookings and operational schedules where an event needs more context than a title and time. Custom-field limits are a meaningful constraint: Free and Plus allow one, while Pro starts at ten.

Access and integrations

Nine permission levels give teams more control over what different people can access. Link sharing without user accounts can simplify coordination with occasional participants, but teams should select permissions carefully when sharing beyond their core group. Teamup lists an API, iCalendar feeds, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Trello, and Zapier as integrations. Calendar sync is one-way, so it is not a two-way calendar synchronization option.

Security and hosting

Teamup says it is certified under ISO/IEC 27001 and compliant with the EU GDPR, and describes TLS connections using 128-bit AES encryption alongside encryption for stored data and backups. Production services run on AWS, with user content redundantly stored in Oregon and Ireland. That cloud arrangement will not suit teams that require private-server hosting, which Teamup does not offer.

Pricing

The Free plan is free and can be used indefinitely. It allows 5 sub-calendars, 5 users, 1 custom field, and 1 year of historical data, making it a practical starting point for a small team but a tight fit as calendars, membership, or record history grow.

Plus costs 12.00 USD per month billed yearly, or $15 billed monthly. It raises the limits to 12 sub-calendars and 12 users, adds 2GB storage and Daily Agenda, and extends history to 5 years, but still allows only one custom field. It suits a modest team that needs more capacity than Free without much event customization.

Pro costs 30.00 USD per month billed yearly, or $35 billed monthly. With 25 sub-calendars, 25 users, 10 custom fields, 100GB storage, and one-hour inbound iCal feed sync, it is a more capable option for teams with varied event data or regular external calendar feeds. Business costs 70.00 USD per month billed yearly, or $85 billed monthly; it supports 70 sub-calendars, 50 users, 20 custom fields, 400GB storage, 15-minute inbound iCal feed sync, and 10-year history. That step up is aimed at larger operations needing more frequent feed updates and longer records.

Enterprise costs 125.00 USD per month billed yearly, or $160 billed monthly. Its 150 sub-calendars, 100 users, 50 custom fields, 1000GB storage, five-minute inbound iCal feed sync, 15-year history, and call-back support target organizations with substantial scheduling needs. Organization Accounts start at US$1,200 per year and scale with user count; SSO, scalable user management, and central administration with consolidated billing for multiple master calendars make this a distinct fit for organizations managing several calendars centrally. Email support is included in the listed plans; Enterprise also adds call-back support.

Paid plans include a 3-day trial. The monthly-versus-yearly price difference is relevant if a team is unsure about committing annually, while the free tier offers no published paid-plan storage allowance or expanded history beyond its stated cap.

Platforms

Teamup is available on web, iOS, and Android, with an API platform also listed. Mobile apps extend access beyond the browser, while the API and integrations provide options for connecting team workflows.

Who it's for

Teamup fits businesses and teams managing shared schedules, resources, and operations, from room bookings to field-crew job schedules. It is especially compelling when a group needs multiple calendars, varied permissions, and detailed event records. Small groups can start free; growing teams should compare their user, sub-calendar, storage, and history needs against the tier limits. Teams requiring two-way sync or private-server hosting should consider another approach.

Pros and cons

Pros: Twelve views, nine permission levels, and link sharing without accounts support varied team workflows and external participants.
Pros: Events can carry custom fields, images, and attachments, with standalone event pages for sharing specific activities.
Pros: Plans scale from a no-cost tier to 100 users and 1000GB storage on Enterprise, with faster inbound iCal sync at higher tiers.
Cons: Free is capped at 5 users and 5 sub-calendars, and Plus remains limited to one custom field.
Cons: Calendar synchronization is one-way, and private-server hosting is unavailable.
Cons: Enterprise stops at 100 users per calendar, so larger teams may need a different arrangement.

Alternatives

For yoga studios comparing booking-focused tools, WellnessLiving is a paid alternative with a free plan and trial; its Starter plan is 62.00 USD per month billed annually for one staff member, class and appointment booking, and client and staff apps. Zenamu offers a free Getting Started tier with 30 orders per month and one teacher account, making it worth considering when order volume is modest; its Expert tier supports 500 orders per month. ClassWolf has a free web plan for courses, disciplines, teachers, and students, but its Cub tier excludes fee collection, reports, communications, and online payments.

zenyogi offers a free web plan with unlimited classes and basic events, up to two published offerings, payment support, and an 8% platform fee, which may suit studios prioritizing those functions. Newvia is another freemium web option. Arketa is a paid alternative with a free trial and an Individual plan at 49.00 USD per month billed annually, while fitDEGREE is paid, offers a free trial, and lists a Spot Booking add-on at 75.00 USD per month. Flyby Global is a paid web alternative.

Verdict

Choose Teamup if your team needs shared calendars with nuanced permissions, rich event details, and plans that scale across growing scheduling operations. Its main advantage is the combination of access control and calendar capacity; look elsewhere if you need two-way sync, private-server hosting, or room for more than 100 users per calendar.
