Overview

The restaurant workflow spans open tickets, kitchen preparation, stock management and loyalty. Staff can assign tickets to tables, adjust them as orders change, and send preparation details to a kitchen display or printer. That makes Loyverse a practical starting point for restaurants seeking more than a basic checkout, particularly those operating multiple locations.

The trade-off is that the free plan limits sales analytics to the last 31 days. Businesses that need older reports, employee performance and hours, or more developed inventory controls will need paid add-ons. Loyverse says its support team is available around the clock through live chat, with help articles also available.

Key features

Restaurant orders and kitchen workflow

Open tickets can be assigned to tables, split, merged or moved between tickets. Custom menu categories and item modifiers help represent a restaurant’s menu, while dine-in, takeout and delivery labels distinguish order types. These are useful table-service basics; the stated order channel is table, so restaurants should not assume a broader set of ordering channels from these features alone.

Orders can be sent to kitchen displays or printers with item details, quantities, modifiers and comments. Keeping preparation instructions with the ticket can help staff communicate customized orders to the kitchen without relying on a separate description.

Inventory, loyalty and connections

Inventory tools include purchase orders, composite items for prepared goods and their ingredients, transfers between locations, stock counts and corrections. The free plan includes essential inventory, but purchase orders and stock transfers are also identified as part of the Advanced inventory add-on. Businesses with more involved stock workflows should budget for that add-on rather than treating all inventory capabilities as free.

The loyalty program awards points, and customer notes can record preferences. Integrations include QuickBooks Online, Xero, WooCommerce, Shopify and Otter for online and delivery orders. The API supports connections involving sales analytics, accounting, orders, items and inventory, customers, and e-invoicing. Loyverse Payments describes its transaction processing as using PCI-compliant infrastructure.

Pricing

Loyverse uses a freemium model, with a free plan and a 14-day trial. The free plan includes POS, sales reports for the last 31 days, essential inventory, loyalty, customer and kitchen displays, multi-store management and integrations. It is a substantial starting package, but the 31-day reporting window is a meaningful constraint for owners who need to compare older periods: reports beyond that window require the Unlimited sales history add-on.

Loyverse POS: custom pricing. Includes 31 days of sales history.
Free plan: 0.00 USD per free. Includes POS, 31 days of sales reports, essential inventory, loyalty, customer and kitchen displays, multi-store management and integrations.
Unlimited sales history: 5.00 USD per month. Billed $5/month per store or $50/year per store; enables sales reports beyond the last 31 days. This is the least expensive paid step for businesses that need longer comparisons.
Employee management: 25.00 USD per month. Billed $25/month per store or $250/year per store; includes team performance, permissions and hours worked. It is aimed at operators who need those staff controls and reporting, rather than just basic employee permissions.
Advanced inventory: 25.00 USD per month. Billed $25/month per store or $250/year per store; includes purchase orders, stock transfers and deeper inventory insights. It fits businesses whose stock processes exceed essential inventory.

The paid add-ons are priced per store, so costs rise with each additional store. Employee management and Advanced inventory each cost five times the monthly price of Unlimited sales history; a restaurant needing several add-ons should weigh that ongoing per-store spend against the value of consolidating its workflows.

Platforms

Loyverse supports Android, iOS, web and API access, and offers offline mode. iOS is also identified for hardware support. The combination gives operators mobile and web access, though hardware compatibility should be checked against the specific equipment they plan to use.

Who it's for

Loyverse is a strong fit for small restaurants that need table tickets, kitchen routing, loyalty and multi-store support without an upfront POS subscription. It is less compelling for businesses that need older sales reporting, detailed employee tools or advanced inventory but want to avoid per-store add-on charges. Restaurants seeking ordering beyond the stated table channel should compare systems against their specific service needs.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free plan brings together POS, loyalty, kitchen and customer displays, essential inventory and multi-store management, letting a small operator start with connected core workflows.
Pros: Tickets can be split, merged and moved, while kitchen orders carry modifiers and comments, supporting changes and customized preparation.
Pros: API access and named integrations cover accounting, commerce and online or delivery order connections.
Cons: Free sales reporting stops at 31 days, so historical analysis requires a paid add-on.
Cons: Employee management and advanced inventory each cost $25/month per store, which can make a multi-store setup substantially more expensive.
Cons: The stated order channel is table, which may not suit restaurants expecting a wider set of ordering channels.

Alternatives

Restaurant POS Software is a useful place to compare restaurant-focused options, while Point-of-Sale Software broadens the search across categories. For a more specific operating model, compare Food Truck POS Software or Retail POS Software.

RetailPOS is worth considering when self-hosting and open-source software matter more than Loyverse’s restaurant ticket and kitchen workflow: its free plan is open source under Apache 2.0, self-hosted and has no monthly fees.
Fedelta POS is another freemium option, with a Plus plan that includes hardware setup, rewards, basic support, unlimited integrations, reporting and table management.
SalesPlay POS offers a free POS, back office, inventory management and multi-store management plan; consider it when those are the core needs.
Heartland Retail has a starting price of 89.00 USD per month, making it a higher-priced alternative to compare when a retail POS is the priority.
Cegid Vendus offers a Base plan at 6.25 EUR per month when billed annually for two users and unlimited documents, useful for readers comparing those stated limits and terms.
uniCenta oPOS has a BASE subscription at 6.00 GBP per year, charged monthly yearly at £72, with downloads, source code and update notifications.
Imonggo has a free plan limited to one user, one branch, 30 products and 300 invoices per month; it may suit a very small operation that fits those caps.
GoDaddy POS offers a free plan for up to 10 products, a narrow starting point for sellers with a small catalog.

Verdict

Choose Loyverse if you run a small restaurant that wants table tickets, kitchen handling, loyalty and essential inventory in a free POS, with an upgrade path as needs grow. The central reason to look elsewhere is cost or fit: reporting beyond 31 days and stronger employee or inventory tools are paid per store, and the stated order channel is table.
