Overview

G HUB combines peripheral configuration with game-library tools, lighting and community-shared settings. For people with several Logitech G devices, the breadth means there is one place to adjust and coordinate them. It is not a universal controller for peripherals from other brands, so its appeal depends on owning Logitech G hardware.

The Games feature can organize and launch libraries that include Steam and GOG titles. This adds convenience for players who want game access alongside device settings, though it is not a reason on its own for someone without Logitech G peripherals to install the app. Account holders can upload and download profiles, lighting and other settings through the Community Library.

Key features

Peripheral setup and profiles

G HUB Basics covers DPI adjustment, assignments and LIGHTSYNC effects. KEYCONTROL provides a configuration interface for Logitech G keyboards, while game profiles let users tailor settings by title. Together these are useful for players who change controls or device behavior between games; users seeking a tool for unrelated hardware will need another option.

Lighting and connected tools

LIGHTSYNC RGB supports custom animations, synchronized G devices and Windows Dynamic Lighting. That makes it a strong fit for Logitech G owners who want coordinated lighting, with Windows Dynamic Lighting specifically relevant to Windows users. For audio routing, mixing and streaming, Logitech offers Mixline; Streamlabs provides tools for going live, engaging viewers, designing streams and growing.

Logitech G integration is available in Final Fantasy XIV, and LIGHTSYNC has been featured in Star Wars: Battlefront II and Battlefield 1. G HUB is also required to use Logitech's steering-wheel and LED-illumination SDKs, which matters to developers working with those kits.

Privacy and security

With consent, G HUB may collect feature usage, device discovery and configuration, system and performance information, diagnostics, crash data and application activity. Logitech says it uses TLS certificates, encryption, access limits, antivirus software and firewalls to reduce unauthorized-access risks. Users who prefer not to share this usage data should consider that before opting in.

Pricing

Both listed plans are free: Free is free and includes LIGHTSYNC RGB customization, device configuration and presets, and game profiles. G HUB also is free and covers Logitech G gaming mice, keyboards, headsets, speakers and other devices. There is no paid tier or trade-off between these plans in the stated pricing; the practical limit is that the software is for Logitech G peripherals.

Platforms

G HUB supports Windows and macOS, including recent operating-system versions. The latest release notes state that support for macOS Ventura was dropped, so Ventura users should not assume compatibility. Windows users also get the stated Windows Dynamic Lighting integration.

Who it's for

Choose G HUB if you own Logitech G peripherals and want device configuration, title-specific profiles, lighting coordination and game-library tools in one app. It is less suitable if you need cross-brand peripheral management, or if you rely on macOS Ventura.

Pros and cons

Pros: Device setup, game profiles and LIGHTSYNC controls are brought together for Logitech G peripherals, reducing the need to manage those settings separately.
Pros: Lighting can be animated and synchronized across G devices, with Windows Dynamic Lighting support for Windows users.
Pros: The Games feature can organize and launch libraries including Steam and GOG, while account holders can exchange settings through the Community Library.
Cons: Its device scope is Logitech G, so owners of other brands should not expect a single app to configure all their peripherals.
Cons: macOS Ventura support has been dropped, making it a poor choice for users who need that operating system.
Cons: Community sharing requires an account, and consent-based analytics can include device, system and application activity.

Alternatives

Logi Options+ is another free Logitech option for supported devices on Windows 10 or later and macOS 12 or later; pick it when those stated platform requirements and device support fit your needs better than G HUB's gaming-peripheral focus.

Glorious CORE is free software for configuring most Glorious products; choose it for that hardware, bearing in mind cloud profile saving requires a Glorious ID.

Rebind offers a free software mode with a Luau scripting runtime and no account or Rebind Link requirement, and supports Linux as well as macOS and Windows. Consider it when those stated capabilities and platform reach are a better fit.

MonsGeek Driver provides free keyboard-driver and configuration downloads for supported models, with model support varying by driver.

ROCCAT Swarm II is free device-configuration software for compatible Turtle Beach devices.

NZXT CAM is a free Windows PC app whose system monitoring works without NZXT hardware and requires no account; pick it for that use rather than Logitech G peripheral setup.

Razer Synapse is a free alternative for macOS, web and Windows.

X-Mouse Button Control is a free Windows tool for mouse-button remapping with application and window profiles, making it a focused option for that task.

Verdict

Logitech G HUB is the right pick for Logitech G owners who want free device configuration, game-specific setups and synchronized lighting in one place. Its broad combination of tools is the main reason to choose it; its Logitech-only scope and dropped Ventura support are the clearest reasons to look elsewhere.
