Overview

LoginTC adds a second verification step to applications and systems, with a choice of cloud, on-premises, hybrid and air-gapped deployment. It is best suited to organizations that need MFA across established access systems or constrained environments. Its range of authentication methods and deployment choices is compelling, though paid subscriptions start at 15 users.

Founded in 2011, LoginTC is headquartered in Kanata, Ontario, and serves organizations from small businesses to large enterprises, including healthcare, finance and government. The company says it has been ISO 27001 certified since 2023.

Key features

Users can authenticate with push notifications, number matching, authenticator apps and software OTP, as well as hardware tokens, security keys, email or SMS passcodes, phone calls, passcode grids and bypass codes. That variety can help organizations support different user needs and access conditions. Offline authentication, including offline QR scanning, is a Business-plan feature, so teams that require it must choose that tier rather than the lower-cost cloud plans.

Connectors cover RADIUS VPN and remote access, Active Directory and LDAP, Outlook Web App, RD Web Access, ADFS, Windows Logon and RDP, and Entra ID EAM for Office 365. Integration methods also include SAML/SSO, iframe authentication and a REST API. The API supports user, token and domain-membership administration and authentication-session requests and checks, but applies only to LoginTC Cloud deployments. Adaptive access policies, passwordless authentication and device-trust controls are also supported.

LoginTC's documented deployment range makes it relevant to organizations that cannot put every authentication service in the cloud. Its support hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM–5 PM EST for standard issues, with round-the-clock support for critical issues.

Pricing

Cloud Starter is free for up to three users and includes VPN and firewall protection and push authentication. It is a practical starting point for a very small team, but the three-user cap makes it unsuitable for a larger rollout.

Cloud Professional costs 3.00 USD per month, billed annually, and Cloud Business costs 5.00 USD per month, billed annually. On-Premises Managed costs 7.00 USD per month, also billed annually. Each paid plan has a 15-user minimum, and licenses are added in bundles of five; the entry price therefore does not translate into a one-user subscription. Business is the tier to consider when offline authentication is required. The trial lasts 15 days, includes Business features and requires no credit card.

Platforms

LoginTC supports Android, iOS, web, Windows, browser extensions, APIs and self-hosted deployments. This combination spans mobile authentication, browser-based access and locally hosted environments.

Who it's for

LoginTC is a strong fit for organizations connecting MFA to VPNs, directory services, Windows access or Microsoft environments, especially when cloud, on-premises or air-gapped deployment is a requirement. The free tier can serve a team of up to three; paid plans are more appropriate for organizations able to meet the 15-user minimum. Smaller groups needing paid access for fewer users should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Broad factor choice: Push, OTP, security keys, passcodes and phone calls give organizations several ways to accommodate users and access conditions.
Flexible deployment: Cloud, on-premises, hybrid and air-gapped options address environments with different infrastructure constraints.
Useful enterprise connectors: RADIUS, directory, Windows and Microsoft integrations can fit established access setups.
Small free-plan ceiling: Cloud Starter stops at three users, limiting its usefulness beyond a very small team.
Paid-plan commitment: A 15-user minimum, five-license increments and annual billing can make a paid rollout awkward for smaller groups.

Alternatives

LinOTP is a free, open-source option for organizations that prefer software offered under AGPLv3 and GPLv2, with Android, iOS, Linux, web, API and self-hosted platforms. miniOrange Multi-Factor Authentication has a free plan and a 2.00 USD per month Essential plan, making it worth comparing for buyers prioritizing a lower stated entry price. Duo Mobile offers a free plan for 10 users, while its 3.00 USD per month Essentials plan includes phishing-resistant MFA and passwordless authentication.

Rublon Authenticator has a free plan for one user and a 2.00 USD per month Business plan with a 15-license minimum. Deepnet DualShield MFA Platform is an alternative with on-premises or private-cloud deployment and quote-based pricing. HYPR Authenticate offers a 3.00 USD per month Identity Assurance Access plan for web access and phishing-resistant onboarding. Imprivata Enterprise Access Management uses modular licensing, with Core Access required for all deployments. Secret Double Octopus offers cloud and web application, VPN and VDI coverage in its Starter plan, with an Enterprise tier for workforce passwordless MFA and desktops.

Verdict

Choose LoginTC if your organization needs multiple MFA methods, established system integrations and deployment flexibility that extends to on-premises or air-gapped environments. The key reason to look elsewhere is the paid-plan floor: annual billing and a 15-user minimum are a poor fit for smaller teams that need only a few paid licenses.
