Overview

Locus combines route planning, dispatch, fleet management, and delivery monitoring in a cloud-driven service that can scale with business requirements. Routes are planned around addresses and real-world constraints, while fleet tools support capacity utilization, order clubbing, and choices between owned and outsourced fleets. Bringing these decisions together is useful for operators coordinating varied delivery demands; it may be more platform than a small operation needs.

A control tower and dashboard provide real-time delivery visibility and predictive analytics. Tracking, customer notifications, and electronic proof of delivery—including signatures and confirmations—cover key steps from dispatch to completion. The company reports a 25% productivity gain, $150 million saved in logistics costs, more than 17 million kilograms of GHG emissions reduced, and over 70 million kilometers of travel reduced. These are reported outcomes, not a promise of results for each customer.

Key features

Route planning and fleet decisions

Automatic routing that accounts for real-world constraints can help delivery teams coordinate orders rather than plan each stop in isolation. Order clubbing and capacity-utilization support are relevant when fleet resources must be allocated across demand, while owned-versus-outsourced fleet decisions address a broader operational question than route sequencing alone.

Dispatch, tracking, and driver workflows

Automated dispatch handles order assignment for final-mile operations. Real-time tracking and predictive analytics give teams a shared view through the control tower, while customer notifications and photo-and-signature proof of delivery support communication and confirmation at the handoff.

Locus says its LOTR driver app runs on Android and iOS, works offline, and syncs stored data once connectivity returns. That is useful for drivers who may lose a connection during a route. The platform also connects with ERP, WMS, and TMS systems and supports RESTful APIs for creating delivery batches, giving it a path into existing operational systems.

Security and availability

Locus lists SOC 2 Type II compliance, a SOC 3 report, ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 27701:2019 certifications, and GDPR and HIPAA compliance. It says data at rest is encrypted with AES 256-bit encryption and data in transit with TLS 1.2 and HTTPS, and states 99.97% uptime. These assurances may matter to businesses with formal security and availability requirements.

Pricing

Locus is paid software with custom pricing. Its Enterprise deployment plan is priced per deployment according to platform scope, volume, and constraint complexity. This structure may suit organizations whose delivery needs require a tailored deployment, but buyers cannot compare a fixed monthly cost before discussing scope. Prospective customers can book a meeting or request a demo.

Platforms

The platform supports web, Android, iOS, and API access. The LOTR driver app is available for Android and iOS and can work offline before syncing stored data when connectivity returns.

Who it's for

Locus is aimed at e-commerce businesses, 3PL providers, and hyperlocal delivery businesses. It is a stronger fit for teams that need routing, dispatch, fleet decisions, and delivery visibility in one operational platform, especially when integrations and offline driver workflows matter. A business looking for a published, self-serve price or a free plan should compare alternatives before committing to a sales-led evaluation.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad delivery operations coverage: Route planning, automated dispatch, fleet management, tracking, and proof of delivery address multiple stages of a delivery operation.
Offline-capable driver app: Android and iOS drivers can store data offline and sync it after connectivity returns.
Integration and security provisions: ERP, WMS, and TMS connections, RESTful APIs, and a range of listed security certifications support businesses with established systems and compliance needs.

Cons

No published price: Custom enterprise pricing requires buyers to discuss scope and volume before they can assess cost.
Enterprise orientation: Pricing tied to platform scope and constraint complexity is less convenient for small teams seeking a free or straightforward entry plan.

Alternatives

For a smaller operation or one that wants to start with a free plan, compare RutaLive, which has a free tier capped at one operator, two couriers, and 150 orders a month. InstaDispatch is another freemium option with a free plan and trial; its free plan has no stated shipment allowance. Numus offers a free plan billed forever with no card, capped at 10 orders a month, one driver, and five routes, including live tracking, proof of delivery, and email notifications.

QuickE offers a free plan and trial, with order management and dispatch, a driver app with proof of delivery, and a customer tracking page among its stated inclusions; its order cap is to confirm. For paid alternatives with web, Android, iOS, and API support, consider Datatrac, DispatchTrack, or FinalMileOS. FarEye Last Mile is an enterprise solution with pricing by meeting. Browse the Courier Management Software, Delivery Management Software, and Last-Mile Delivery Software lists to compare more options.

Verdict

Locus is a strong candidate for e-commerce, 3PL, and hyperlocal operators that need coordinated routing, dispatch, fleet management, and real-time delivery visibility, with offline driver support and integrations as added strengths. Choose it when that operational breadth justifies an enterprise deployment; look elsewhere if you need transparent pricing or a free plan to evaluate before a sales conversation.
