Overview

PandaCue brings booking, client conversations, payments, and reporting into one operating system for salons and wellness businesses. That breadth can reduce the number of separate tools a business needs for day-to-day work. Its clearest boundary is payroll: it organizes payroll data and provides reports, but does not run pay, file taxes, or make direct deposits.

Key features

Booking and client communication

Online booking supports round-the-clock scheduling, customizable widgets, deposits, staff schedules, and automated waitlists. Deposits and waitlists help businesses manage booking commitments and openings; staff scheduling makes the feature set useful for teams rather than only solo operators. The unified inbox combines Instagram and Facebook messages, SMS, and email in one thread per client, which can give staff a more continuous view of conversations across channels.

Website, payments, and reporting

The website builder includes premium templates, digital intake forms that sync to client profiles, and built-in SEO. That ties client information and discovery tools to the booking operation, rather than leaving forms and a business site wholly separate. Payments combine card processing, deposits, retail sales, tips, gift cards, and financial reporting. Reports cover appointments, sales, clients, staff activity, and business performance, with updates as activity occurs; this is useful for operators who need a current view of activity, not just periodic summaries.

Integrations, privacy, and payroll

Integrations include Facebook, Google Business Profile, Instagram, Pinterest, Stripe, TikTok, and WhatsApp. PandaCue includes its integration fees for all customers, though third-party subscriptions may add cost. Stripe handles card numbers, and PandaCue says it does not store full card numbers on its servers. Its privacy policy also describes TLS for web and API access, hashed passwords and refresh tokens, encrypted integration credentials, role-based access, and rate limiting for sensitive authentication endpoints. PandaCue says it does not use Customer Content to train public foundation models unless a separate AI feature is disclosed and the required rights are obtained.

Payroll reports, commission tracking, and tip calculation support payroll preparation, but they do not replace the payroll provider responsible for pay, tax filings, and direct deposits. Businesses looking for an all-in-one payroll processor should choose a separate payroll solution.

Pricing

PandaCue uses paid, custom pricing, with a 7-day free trial advertised on its homepage. The trial gives a short opportunity to assess the workflow, but a business must request pricing to judge ongoing cost. PandaCue says its own integration fees are included for all customers; subscriptions charged by connected services may still apply.

Platforms

PandaCue is available on Android, iOS, and web, and provides an API. Its mobile experiences serve owners and managers, staff, and clients, with schedules, client records, payments, reports, and appointment management among the supported tasks.

Who it's for

PandaCue is aimed at hair salons, med spas, IV therapy providers, skincare and massage studios, nail salons, barbershops, wellness centers, and other beauty businesses. It is a stronger fit for operators who want booking, communication, payments, and reporting in one system than for businesses whose main need is payroll execution. The Learning Center offers articles, videos, and FAQ answers for owners, managers, service providers, and front desk staff.

Pros and cons

Pros: Booking, client messaging, payments, and live reporting are combined, helping multi-role teams keep daily operations connected.
Pros: Intake forms sync to client profiles, while the shared inbox brings several communication channels into one client thread.
Pros: Commission tracking, tip calculation, and payroll reports support payroll preparation without claiming to replace a payroll provider.
Cons: Businesses must use another provider for pay, tax filings, and direct deposits.
Cons: Custom pricing makes cost comparison harder before contacting PandaCue, and third-party subscriptions can add expense.

Alternatives

For a free starting point, Pronto has a forever-free plan capped at 1 staff member, 100 clients, 50 bookings per month, and 100 products; it suits a smaller operation willing to work within those limits. Salonist offers a free plan with 50 appointments per month, online booking, calendar and scheduling, and staff shift management, making it an option for businesses prioritizing those basics.

Meevo has paid salon and spa plans, including Lite with 5 users, 2,500 email contacts, and 100 SMS marketing credits; consider it when those user and marketing allowances suit your needs. Kitomba offers paid plans such as Lite with online booking, stock management, POS with integrated EFTPOS, and marketing tools, a relevant alternative for businesses focused on those capabilities.

Orbis Salon has a Lite plan at 4.99 GBP per month, with one staff member, one location, 30 bookings per month, five services, and a 50p booking service fee per booking; it may suit a small business comfortable with those caps and fees. Phorest offers paid plans with unlimited devices and staff, an alternative for teams that value those allowances.

Salonized starts with its Appointments plan at 21.00 EUR per month, billed monthly, with annual billing available at a 10% discount; it is worth comparing for businesses seeking a priced appointments plan. DaySmart Salon has a Basic plan at 29.00 USD per month with one user, online booking, appointment confirmations, and Instagram and Facebook booking, which may suit a single-user business focused on those functions.

Verdict

Choose PandaCue if your salon or wellness business wants booking, client conversations, payments, and current operational reporting under one roof. Its integrated workflow and salon-focused tools are the main reasons to consider it; look elsewhere if you need payroll execution or want to compare a published subscription price before contacting a vendor.
