Overview

Krikey creates animations from text prompts or uploaded video, then lets users continue editing in a browser-based 3D editor. You can make talking avatars, customize characters and poses, and adjust dialogue, expressions, gestures, backgrounds and camera angles. That editing range is useful when a scene needs more than a first-pass generation, though the tool’s bipedal-character limit narrows its reach.

Exports include MP4, GIF, PNG and FBX. Krikey lists workflows involving Canva and Adobe Express, as well as Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, Roblox, Blender, Maya, ZBrush and Omniverse. The breadth gives creators routes into social content and 3D production. Its ElevenLabs integration supports speaking and singing characters in over 20 languages with lip synchronization, according to Krikey.

Key features

Prompt and video animation: Generate 3D character animations from text or uploaded video. Having two ways to start helps accommodate both written concepts and existing footage.
Character creation and editing: Create talking avatars, customize characters, design poses and use face-animation tools. The editor also supports changes to lip-synced dialogue, expressions, hand gestures, backgrounds and camera angles, giving creators control over the resulting scene.
Multiple export formats: MP4, GIF and PNG suit common media uses, while FBX provides an option for 3D workflows.
Team editing: Multiple team members can edit projects simultaneously in the web editor, which is useful for collaborative production.
Language and voice options: The ElevenLabs integration supports speaking and singing characters in more than 20 languages with lip synchronization. Krikey also identifies voice cloning as a capability.
Education and safety: Krikey describes its platform as designed for student safety and identifies K-12 classrooms, educators and students among its users. Its about page lists SOC 2 Type II certification; the site footer says the platform is FERPA and COPPA certified.

The firm creative boundary is bipedal characters only. That is a significant drawback for projects centered on non-bipedal designs, regardless of the editing and export options.

Pricing

Krikey offers a free plan and two paid monthly plans with published prices, plus an enterprise option with custom pricing. Credit allowances matter: the free tier has 20 one-time credits, while Pro and Teams provide monthly credits.

Plan	Price	Allowance and terms	Best fit
Krikey AI Free	0.00 USD per free	20 one-time credits	A no-cost way to start, though a one-time credit pool is less suited to recurring production.
Krikey AI Pro	15.00 USD per month	165 monthly credits	Individual creators who need a recurring monthly allowance.
Krikey AI Teams	10.00 USD per month	Minimum 3 people; 200 monthly credits per person	Teams that can meet the three-person minimum and benefit from per-person monthly credits.
Krikey AI Enterprise	Custom pricing	Longer video uploads, multiple license management, automated provisioning and SOC 2 Type 2 certification	Organizations needing those administrative and upload provisions.

The Free plan avoids a recurring fee but its 20 credits are one-time, so it is better for an initial try than ongoing use. Pro raises the allowance to 165 credits each month. Teams costs 10.00 USD per month per the plan price, but requires at least three people and sets 200 monthly credits per person; the minimum makes it a poor fit for a solo creator. Enterprise is the route for longer video uploads and license or provisioning needs, with custom pricing.

Platforms

Krikey is available on web, Android and iOS. Its browser-based editor is the clearest fit for collaborative project work; mobile availability broadens access across devices.

Who it's for

Krikey identifies storytellers, educators, businesses, social media teams, marketing agencies, small businesses and indie game developers as users. Its character customization, dialogue and scene controls make it particularly relevant to creators developing animated character-led content. Educators may value its stated student-safety design and FERPA and COPPA certifications. Teams can edit together, while the extensive export and workflow options can help route work into media or 3D tools.

It is not the right choice when a project depends on non-bipedal character animation. Solo users should also weigh the credit allowances carefully before moving from the free tier to a paid plan.

Pros and cons

Pros

Generation plus scene editing: Text and video inputs lead into controls for dialogue, expressions, gestures, backgrounds and camera angles, supporting refinement rather than just initial creation.
Useful output range: MP4, GIF, PNG and FBX accommodate both media exports and 3D workflows.
Collaborative editing: Simultaneous project editing suits teams working in the browser.
Monthly team credits: The Teams plan provides 200 monthly credits per person, which may suit groups able to meet its three-person minimum.

Cons

Bipedal characters only: Projects requiring other character forms fall outside the animation tool’s current coverage.
Free credits do not replenish: The 20-credit free allowance is one-time, limiting its usefulness for continued work.
Teams has a minimum seat count: At least three people are required, making the plan less practical for solo creators and smaller pairs.

Alternatives

Choose AI Animation Makers, AI Avatar Generators, Cartoon Maker Software or AI video generators to compare options across those categories.

Melted Crayons TV is worth considering for a free image-only comic workflow: its Sketch plan includes 30 monthly credits, standard voices and 1080p static comic video export, but no panel animation and a watermark.
Move AI offers a free 30-credit allowance that does not expire and supports videos up to 30 seconds, a different starting point for video-based work.
Rokoko Create has a free-forever Starter plan with 30 seconds per month of Vision AI video processing, unlimited text-to-motion clips and five Studio imports per month.
Motion Transfer AI starts with 18 one-time signup credits; its Basic plan supports up to four images or one video, with watermarked previews and downloads.
AnimateDiff is released for academic use and has no paid plans or pricing listed.
Artiroom may suit users seeking a one-time purchase option: its Starter Pack costs 9.99 USD per once and includes 15 credits, every model, watermark-free output and scene downloads.
Charios offers a free plan with three active projects, 30 monthly credits and 13 bundled mocap clips.
DeepMotion Animate 3D is another freemium alternative.

Verdict

Krikey AI is a compelling choice for educators, storytellers and teams making bipedal character scenes who want browser editing, collaboration and several export routes. Its main advantage is combining animation generation with controls for developing a scene; the main reason to look elsewhere is the bipedal-only limit. Compare the credit allowances against your expected workload, especially if you are choosing between the one-time free credits, monthly Pro and the three-person Teams minimum.
