Overview

Kittl is a browser-based design platform for creators making illustrations, branded graphics, presentations, and seller storefront visuals. It suits people who want templates, asset libraries, and AI tools in one editor; the free plan is useful for personal projects, but commercial work requires a paid plan.

Key features

Kittl combines templates, mockups, photos, graphics, and fonts with illustration and presentation tools. Background removal, image upscaling, vectorization, text effects, and an infinite canvas support both creating artwork and refining it. Brand kits and real-time collaboration can help keep team work consistent, although extra editors are charged according to the selected plan.

AI image, vector, and video generation, along with an AI creative agent, expand the range of work possible in the editor. Tokens constrain how much generation users can do: Free includes 100 one-time tokens, while Expert receives 200 daily and Max 600 daily. Kittl also provides Shopify banners, Etsy banners, and Etsy listings, making it relevant to sellers preparing shop visuals.

Paid plans add premium assets, high-resolution and vector exports, larger project limits, more AI tokens, and commercial licensing. Free users can preview most Pro features, but only with light usage limits; that makes the free tier a way to assess the editor, not a substitute for a commercial plan.

Pricing

Free costs 0.00 USD per free and lasts forever. It includes five projects, 100 one-time AI tokens, and 1M+ photos, graphics, and fonts. Its personal-use-only terms rule it out for commercial work, and the five-project cap may be restrictive for anyone managing several active designs.

Pro costs 168.00 USD per year with annual billing. It includes unlimited projects, 2,000 AI tokens per month, 10,000+ premium templates and mockups, and 10 GB file storage. It is the practical step up for an individual who needs commercial licensing, more room for ongoing projects, and a regular but bounded generation allowance.

Expert costs 468.00 USD per year with annual billing. It includes 12,000 AI tokens per month, 100M+ curated assets, and 100 GB file storage; Expert also receives 200 daily tokens. The larger asset and storage allowances suit heavier professional workflows, though the price is a substantial jump from Pro. Max receives 600 daily tokens, but its price and other plan terms are custom pricing.

Plans renew monthly or annually depending on the billing option selected. Subscriptions can be canceled from account settings at any time, with access continuing through the current billing cycle. Additional editors are charged under the selected plan, so team costs can rise with seat count.

Platforms

Kittl runs on the web, with no desktop or mobile app. That keeps access browser-based, but users seeking a dedicated app for offline or mobile work should look elsewhere.

Who it's for

Kittl is a strong fit for individual creators and small teams making visual content that benefits from templates, illustration tools, brand kits, or mockups. Its seller-specific banners and listing tools also suit people preparing Shopify or Etsy storefront assets. The personal-use restriction makes Free appropriate for practice and noncommercial projects, while paid commercial licensing matters for work intended to sell or promote a business.

It is less suitable for users who need a native desktop or mobile app, or teams that need predictable costs for multiple editors. The free project cap and one-time AI allowance also make it a limited long-term option for frequent production.

Pros and cons

Pros: Templates, broad asset libraries, illustration tools, and AI generation sit in one browser editor, reducing the need to switch between different kinds of design work.
Pros: The free plan lasts forever and includes 1M+ photos, graphics, and fonts, making it useful for personal experimentation before paying.
Pros: Paid plans provide commercial licensing, high-resolution and vector exports, and larger project and token allowances for production use.
Cons: Free is personal-use only and capped at five projects and 100 one-time AI tokens, so it is not a viable commercial tier.
Cons: Additional editors incur charges under the selected plan, which can make collaboration more expensive as a team grows.
Cons: There are no desktop or mobile apps, and the paid annual prices may not suit people who need occasional access or native-app workflows.

Alternatives

For apparel-specific workflows, MockupFit offers unlimited garment designs, live previews and mockup downloads, and Printful export on its free plan, but that plan has no AI credits. Choose it when garment mockups and Printful export matter more than Kittl’s broader design toolkit.

Screenhance Apparel Mockup Generator is another apparel-focused option; its free plan allows three exports per month at 1x resolution and five-minute screen recordings. It may suit someone with a small, occasional export need.

YouWear.ai gives new accounts five free credits, with one credit per generation or edit; physical products cost extra. It is worth considering for a credit-based tryout centered on apparel generation or editing.

Vexels T-Shirt Creator has a Merch Starter plan at 9.08 USD per year, billed $109 annually, with 30 stock downloads per month, 200 AI credits per month, and 100 designer projects. It may be a better fit for a lower-cost, merchandise-focused plan, though its listed starter tier has limited content on tools.

Mock It offers a Standard monthly plan at 11.99 USD per month after a 7-day free trial, with 5,000+ mockups and unlimited mockup creation and downloads. Choose it when mockup volume is the priority rather than a general design editor.

inkXE is a paid alternative with no free plan or trial and a one-time Essential price of 2999.00 USD. ClozDesign and Printonator are other web-based alternatives.

Readers comparing tools for particular design jobs can also browse T-Shirt Design Software, AI Poster Generators, AI Graphic Design Software, Video Thumbnail Makers, Print Design Template Libraries, and Poster Maker Software.

Verdict

Choose Kittl if you want one browser editor for template-led graphics, illustration, brand assets, mockups, and AI generation, and you are willing to pay for commercial rights and higher production limits. Its free plan is a useful personal-use starting point, but the project and token caps, editor charges, and lack of desktop and mobile apps make it a poor fit for commercial work on a budget or teams that need fixed seat costs.
